Comparison of Pension Systems of the Czech Republic and Slovakia

The bachelor thesis entitled Comparison of Pension Systems of the Czech Republic and Slovakia deals with pension systems in these two countries. The author deals with the general characteristics of pension systems, for example from the point of view of their financing, the tax environment or the operator. The present state of the Czech and Slovak pension system was described, describing the individual pillars and their functioning. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to analyze the pension systems of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to compare them on the basis of selected criteria and finally to propose an interesting or beneficial impulse for the pension system reform in the Czech Republic. During the analysis the emphasis is on the basic foundation stones of the systems and the capture of the given parameters for analysis, which have been selected for their pertinent value.

Pension insurance and demographic development in the Czech Republic Abstract The aim of this thesis is to describe the development of the pension insurance in the Czech Republic and changes in retirement age in relation to the development of life expectancy and changes in the age structure of the population of the Czech Republic. In the first part of the work, there demographic changes of the population are described and in particular, changes in the age structure of the population of the Czech Republic. The second part provides an overview of the historical development of pension insurance in the territory of today's Czech Republic, in particular the development of the most important laws, but also statistical data as well as basic concepts and characteristics of the current pension scheme. In the third part of this thesis are analyzed the changes in the age structure of the population and their relation to raising retirement age in the pension scheme of Czech Republic. The Integration of Immigrant Women in the Retirement Age in the Czech Republic

The Diploma thesis deals with the issue of the integration of immigrants in the pre-retirement and retirement age in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the work is to describe and analyze a group of immigrant women in pre-retirement and retirement age in the Czech Republic, provide an overview of the situation of the women with focus on their special position in the social system and evaluate their process of integration into Czech society. The theoretical part provides the characteristics of immigrants in the Czech Republic. It is focused on the basic definitions, concepts and theories directly related to the process of immigrant integration in the pre-retirement and retirement age, thus the areas of the migration and integration, social and pension system, old age and the aging process with regard to the specific situation in the Czech Republic, including examples from abroad. The research part contains the results of research conducted mainly through the semi- structured interviews with immigrants and focuses on the methods of immigration, the process of integration, economic and social situation of immigrant women. The obtained data are confronted with information provided through interviews with experts in the field and with the findings from professional literature.
The Retirement Age - the development and determinats influence over its changes

The diploma thesis generally focuses on pension systems, specifically on the institution of retirement age. This institution is very important for the old-age pension system and its stability. Retirement age is an important determinant of every pension system. Demographic and economic state of society depends, among other things, on age at which citizens can retire, it's associated with standard of living of state residents. It also affects job opportunities. Since its inception the retirement age in the Czech Republic has gone through many modifications. Based on the theory of actor-centered institutionalism, the diploma thesis addresses the determinants that influenced the development of retirement age institute, including its institutional framework and actors involved in its changes. It also deals with its developmental stages. Comparison with the development in Slovakia (in some parts of diploma thesis only) will be enriched the conceptual, empirical as well as methodological realm of the thesis. Czech and Slovak Republics have shared history but the pension systems of both countries have considerably diverged. This work deals with the changes that take place in people already have retired. It addresses in particular the impact on their life in the last stage of life. Subsequently, a managing retirement as it is when people feel, describes the changes that take place in humans. Then mentions about retirement, pension types. Describes how it can be prepaired, adaptation. It talks about the roles that one has prior to retirement and beyond. Describes the reaction of older people themselves, their perception of this stage and at the same time, how they react to their surroundings. All information has been collected from respondents who have passed retirement. The structured interview was made with them and the obtained informations were subsequently processed.
Learning the Czech language in retirement age

This thesis deals with foreign language learning in retirement age from interdisciplinary perspective. Its characteristics may be limited economic activity, more free time and the potential occurrence of certain barriers caused by age. The case of foreigners in retirement age living in the Czech Republic and learning Czech will serve as an example of foreign language learning. The theoretical part of the thesis firstly defines old age together with the changes typical for the process of aging and old age: the changes are described on a physical, cognitive and social level. The thesis then goes on to address the process of learning with emphasis on foreign language learning. Selected components are mentioned within the pedagogical- psychological part of the learning process, specifically the motivation to learn, different organizational forms of education and teacher's role during the education. Establishing Old Age Pension Retirement Age Limits

Establishing retirement age is a key issue for each and every pension system. How this issue is resolved is palpable for every citizen and also has a major political dimension. The main reasons for increasing the retirement age - which is occurring in all European countries - are demographic development and economic factors, such as higher life expectancy, increasing the proportion of pensioners to the number of economically active people, and the growing costs for the pension system. This thesis describes the current reform steps in Europe and provides a thorough analysis of factors which are relevant for dealing with retirement age issues. The analysis is based on official statistical data, which are scrutinized even in mutual correlations. The need for an interdisciplinary approach which eliminates unilateral vistas and biased application of data lifted out of context and long-term trends is emphasized. Special attention is paid to the genesis and current solutions regarding the retirement age in the Czech Republic. The target of this thesis is to introduce the part of the I. pile (social insurance) of the social security system in Czech Republic pensions insurance. The thesis is conceived as a theoretical one because of the deeper view. In the beginning there is the description of basis of social policy and social security system. The main part of thesis describes historical progress of pensions insurance since 1996 till today. The last chapter is devoted to personal considerations about possible changes in pensions insurance that might happen in the future. The thesis is composed from available expert literature, legislative sources and websites of authorized institutions.
The position of older people in the labour market in selected EU countries

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the development of economic activity of persons aged 55 or older in the period from 2005 to 2014 and their position in the labour market in the Czech Republic, Greece and Sweden. In addition to the definitions of terms related to demography, economics and social policy, the thesis examines the factors influencing the employment of older people and the EU's approach towards the increasing proportion of the older population in the workforce. Further, it provides an analysis of the position of older people in the labour market. The analysis based on the employment rate and unemployment rate indicators shows that the situation of older workers in the labour market differs in the selected countries.
Labour market, employment and unemployment in the Czech Republic from the perspective of demographic trends

The aim of this bachelor thesis is primarily to analyse the size and structure of population in the productive age in 2010-2050. The potential labour force consists of people aged between 20 and 64 years. However, this age is specified later on regarding the increasing number of tertiary educated population and also the shift of the retirement age. Among the main findings is the extension of school years up to 15 years in 2050. The retirement age is considered due to the current pension system for men and women with two children separately. Both cases can be expected to suffer a significant drop of the productive population caused by the population ageing. Moreover, the thesis defines other impacts of population ageing on the labour market in the Czech Republic and summarizes the possible labour market interventions. For example, one of these interventions can be promotion of flexible forms of employment which could achieve economic inactivity decrease. Especially women could benefit from this one. The main data source of this thesis is the Population projection of the Czech Republic to 2100 by the Czech Statistical Office.
