Characterization and application of zwitterionic stationary phases in HPLC
Machová, Dominika ; Kalíková, Květa (advisor) ; Kubíčková, Anna (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the characterization and comparison of two zwitterionic stationary phases of SeQuant ZIC-HILIC and Atlantis Premier BEH Z-HILIC columns. Analyses were performed in the hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) separation mode. The ligand bound to both stationary phases of these columns is identical, sulfoalkylbetaine. The main difference between these stationary phases is in the particles to which the ligands are bound. The type of the particles significantly contributes to different interaction and separation properties of the stationary phases. Firstly, for the basic characterization of these stationary phases, a Tanaka's test was performed. The results of this test showed that the SeQuant ZIC-HILIC column has greater cation-exchange properties than the Atlantis Premier BEH Z-HILIC column, which, has on the other hand greater anion-exchange properties. Both stationary phases showed a higher value of the parameter describing hydrophilicity than hydrophobicity, confirming their polar nature. The properties of the stationary phases were further examined and compared based on the analysis of model analytes. These analytes included a range of small polar analytes, acids, bases, ampholytes, neutral analytes, and their mixtures. Analyses were performed at...
Blue-green infrastructure in urbanized areas
Borovcová, Nikola ; Raček, Jakub (referee) ; Hlavínek, Petr (advisor)
The work is focused on the issue of blue-green infrastructure in urbanized areas. A research on the issue of rainwater management and green elements in the urbanized area will be processed, and a proposal for a solution for the retention, infiltration and use of rainwater in a specific location will be elaborated.
The protection of small village Světnov against rural zone water
Humlíček, Aleš ; Novotný, Jaroslav (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to propose appropriate flood protection measures in the small village Světnov, calculate the critical flood of guideline for very small basin and insert the data into the program HEC-RAS 4.1.0, where they will be further treated in order to find the most appropriate and effective solutions. As flood control measures will be designed two dry polders east of the village. Dikes should be designed so to be able to accommodate 100-year flood, which will be calculated according of guideline for very small basin. Of the materials community, we know that we need to convert flood into the existing pipeline, which is able to accommodate 1 m3/s. The thesis will design solutions dams, sewage channels and function objects in the program AutoCAD 2008.
The development of a method for evaluation of the green roofs' retention capacity
Herůfek, Marek ; Hejduk,, Stanislav (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of methods for evaluating retention features of green roofs. For the purpose of this thesis, a rainfall simulator was designed and various types of precipitation were examined. The thesis is divided into two main parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the importance of water retention on green roofs is discussed. In addition, a physical theory related to this topic is included and various rainfall simulators used for scientific experiments in the Czech Republic and abroad are described. The practical part deals with the measurement of droplet size and rainfall simulator design. In this part, the process of measuring the flow and the intensity of rainfall by using scales, flow meter and rain gauge is described. For this purpose, a datalogger was developed by the Faculty of Eletrical Engineering in Brno. Finally, the results are sumarized and recommendations on how to conduct the research in the future are provided.
Sanitation installation in a multifunctional building
Vaněrka, Zdenek ; Bárta, Ladislav (referee) ; Vrána, Jakub (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the problems of sanitation installation in a multifunctional building in Kunstat. The theoretical part focuses on the analysis of the topic, with emphasis on the water demand. The experimental part focuses on drinking water consumption in real objects. The thesis also focuses on possible solutions given specialization. The project solves the sanitation installation of the multifunctional building in the selected variant. It is a multi-storey building where are a guesthouse for short-term accommodation, café, public toilets, commercial space and a fitness center.
Design of the multipurpose small water reservoir
Galuška, Martin ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Doležal, Petr (advisor)
Thesis develops a simplified design of water management and construction solution in the area of Bezmerov. In the theoretical part basic functional objects are briefly described. Work itself is based on evaluation of landscape morphology from delivered countour lines and geological analysis and following design solution for dry retention water reservoir. For drawing part will be used programs PowerCivil – in which will be created direction solution for body of the dam, flooded area and their cross-sections and horizontal cuts. These will be further processed in program AutoCAD. Retention effects will be reviewed with program HEC-HMS. Design of objects for the water reservoir will be followed with hydrotechnical calculations, drawings and descriptions.
Sanitation installation and gas installation in a residential building
Vilhelmová, Marie ; Vaščáková, Alena (referee) ; Vrána, Jakub (advisor)
The thesis deals with plumbing in a residential building in Brno. The theoretical part is devoted to the development of residential bathroom units over time. The experimental part is focused on versions of such core units. The work also focuses on possible options and requested specifics. The project part solves sanitary equipment and installation of a residential building in the selected case. It is a multi-storey building which is intended for long-term living.
The design of the small water reservoir
Galuška, Martin ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Doležal, Petr (advisor)
The concept of this work is to assess options of a small water reservoir design on the selected area Bezměrov. Part of the work refers to different types and functions of small dams and their water management solutions. There is a geological survey presented which is describing the composition of the soil layers and investigating available materials for dam constructions. Water balance has been processed for considered dam profiles evaluating specific outflow of the catchment area, vapor and leakage through a simplified design of the dam. That creates a basic conception about possibilities of water manipulation in this area. Based on this evaluation there are several options processed to explore the retention effects of this two small water reservoirs system above Bezmerov locality.
Assessment of erosion and flood control measures effectiveness in small catchments
Feltl, Jakub ; Podhrázská,, Jana (referee) ; Krejčí,, Lukáš (referee) ; Doležal, Petr (advisor)
Thesis is about assessment of erosion and flood control measures effectiveness, especially of broad base terraces. The main contribution is a new method of flood effect evaluation of these measures. This is solved by modern programs and geospatial technologies such as ArcMap and HEC - HMS. Economic assessment in alternative solutions of flood and erosion control effect is a main result which leads to optimal technical proposal. The proposed, relatively fast, method can be successfully applied in practice.
Urban measures of effective surface water management in urban areas
Vacková, Michaela ; Kročová,, Šárka (referee) ; Polešáková, Marie (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
One of the main challenges in promoting rainwater management into practise is the fact that it was not recognized as an interdisciplinary issue. We should seek ways how to open the problem to other professions, specially for architects and urban planners, who are the key element of its farther development. This work analyzes the reasons of this unsatisfactory state of rainwater management in the Czech Republic and it defines the possible ways how to remedy this state and outlines scenarios of its further development. The default document of the work is czech technical standard "TNV 75 9010 Hospodaření se srážkovými vodami". The new methodological guide, which is part of this work, is based on it. The work extends the range of measures which are mentioned in the standard. It brings new ways for assessing the benefits of the various measures to streamline the application of rainwater management measures in urban space.
