History of the school in Budětice

The diploma thesis is devoted to the history of the school in the village of Budětice. The first part of the work is devoted to the topography and history of the village in which the school was located. The following is a brief cross-section of the history of pedagogy in the examined period. The next chapters are always divided into two sections. In the first, the political and social events of the given period are briefly described, and the second is processed as a model year of the studied time period. In this way, a comprehensive picture of the studied period was created.
The importace of the Hildprandt von Ottenhausen Family for Blatná region

The aim of this thesis is to point out the various contributions (cultural, economic, political, entrepreneurial, etc.) of the aristocratic family Hildprandt von Ottenhausen for Blatná region. At the begining, various views on the determination of the Blatná reigon are compared. The history of the family line is also reviewed. Most attention is given to the activites of the Hildprandt family which were beneficial for the Blatná region. Hildprandts von Ottenhausen contributed to the development of the Blatná castle, they also remade the adjacent forest to a park. Thanks to them, industrial activities (sugar industry, distilling industry or beer industry) flourished in this region and many people became employed in these companies or on the farm owned by the Hildprandts. Many prominent persons visited Blatná, as guests of the noble family, amongst these persons was Franz Ferdinand d'Este, heir to the Austrian monarchy, or an indian maharaja. Hildprandts employed some of the Czech patriots (Jan Evangelista Purkyně a Antonín Jaroslav Vrťátko), those patriots taught next generations of the family love for their country. Czech-Germans from Karlovy Vary region in the British Royal Air Force

Thesis deals with the so far neglected topic of German speaking members of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War, who came from the territory of today's Karlovy Vary region. In the first chapter, attention is focused to the topic in the general context - Czechoslovak citizens of German nationality who fought for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the Czech army, i.e. in the Air force. Few selected stories of RAF members from the Karlovy Vary Region are presented. In addition to the military services themselves, the author deals with the motivation for joining the resistance and the fate of the families of all these soldiers during the Second World War. Author is also placed on their fates after 1945 and general context of their life stories. Judiciary, Advocacy and Notary in Strakonice 1850-1938

Supposed work on the theme Judicary, Advocacy and Notary in Strakonice 1850-1938 deal with development of legal rules and state administration since the days of birth of district courts` system until period of end of the first republic. Forementioned time period was selected intentionally on the basis of extant archive materials, which were necessary for elaboration of the subject. Concretely the work applies itself to description of workload of juridical profession, personal life of their representatives operating in Strakonice and eventually to their function in community. Law and order deputies played a important role not only in political but also in cultural and public life. Very often they acted in municipal government, in some cultural club and of course they performed their professions at the same time. So called provincial practice run at small town did not offer big or revolutionary cases, still it was interesting. Spectrum of adjudications and legal and notarial agenda provide insight to people{\crq}s manners and behaviour in a given period. Purpose of the work is to bring closer juridical history of the region I come from.
Hlučin Region in the Past

The main aim of this bachelor's thesis is to map the historical development of the area called Hlucin region with the help of available sources. The purpose of this work is to describe all the important historical periods of this territory from the 13th century to the present - starting with the Margraviate of Moravia and the Principality of Opava, through Prussia, the First Republic and the German Reich, ending with Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. The intention is also to clarify what the specifics of Hlucin region came from. Professional publications dealing directly with Hlucin region, or the region of Silesia to which it belongs, in a wider context, were used during the preparation of this work. In addition, materials from the Hlucin Museum were also used, as well as internet sources to capture recent or current facts and figures.
The cultural and natural heritage of Île de Ré

This bachelor thesis focuses on the cultural and natural heritage of the French island Île de Ré. The first part of the thesis is theoretical, and it opens with the geographical and climatic introduction of the island. Consequently, the genesis of human activity on the island is being analysed with the main focus on agricultural traditions such as winemaking, oyster farming, and salt extraction. These traditions have been passed down through generations for centuries, and their development, the tools required for work, and the challenges faced by farmers are presented. Because these activities are carried out in a highly biodiverse area, attention is also paid to the flora that thrives in salt water and the fauna, especially the large number of birds that find refuge in the abundant salt marshes. Next, the thesis focuses on a crucial part of the local economic profit: tourism. Tourism on the Île de Ré was significantly on the rise after the end of the Second World War, and in 1988, it was further strengthened due to the construction of a bridge connecting the island to the mainland in La Rochelle. Mayor Josef Caňkář

The diploma thesis deals with the capture of life destinies of a teacher and later (from 1923) a regional politician Josef Caňkář (1889 - 1975) who was the mayor of Poděbrady in the years 1927 - 1939 and the chairman of the national committee of the town of Poděbrady in the years 1946-1948. The aim of the study is to illustrate the rise of the educator in Poděbrady in the dramatic years of the first half of the twentieth century and his persecution by the Nazi and Communist regimes. Firstly, it represents the character of Josef Caňkář, his origin and political career and then it takes sounding into the specific problematic issues of the town which associates with Josef Caňkář's work in the town of Poděbrady. Diploma thesis deals with the turning points in Josef Caňkář's life and the history of the town and spa depending on the change of the ruling regimes. It penetrates the fate of Josef Caňkář during World War II, his imprisonment in a concentration camp Sachsenhaussen while it still emphasizes the connection with the town of Poděbrady. It also tries to provide related aspects of Josef's decisions and its implications for the town, the lives of the citizens, his family and himself. Fates of the Castle of Zelená Hora during the 20th Century

During its whole existence, Green Mountain castle played an important role in the history of our country. At the opening part this bachelor's thesis describes and explaines the methodology of work, than it is concerned with the oldest and also the later history of the castle. The principal part of the thesis affects the inflictions adherent to quite recent events that fatally touched the object in the course of the twentieth century. The social and political conversions that came in the twentieth century at the territory of our republic mirror clearly in the fate of the castle (birth of the Czechoslovakia, the World War II, the rise of the communist regime, the velvet revolution …).
