Psychology of adult learning - The role of emotions in adult learning

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the psychology of learning. It focuses on determining the influence of the type and intensity of emotions on learning and on coping with test loads. It focuses on connections between motivation to learn and retention in studies among adult students. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, individual phenomena related to learning, testing and experiencing emotions by university students in the combined form of study are described. This section also describes the non-traditional student with the specifics that distinguish him from the traditional student. The barriers and pitfalls that the individual must face on during learning and the obstacles that he overcomes are also defined here. In the introduction of this section, research questions are asked and hypotheses that the work deals with are established. Mixed research and its implementation are described in the empirical part. Qualitative research was conducted on the basis of in-depth unstructured interviews. Use of Drama in Education methods for teaching English

The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on the introduction to drama as a separate object with its principles and the principles of working with drama, on its methods and techniques. We will introduce here the work of teachers of drama education and training opportunities in this field. In terms of psychology, the work deals with the development of speech in children and the ability to learn a new language, so that we get the most lasting effect in the preservation of the skills acquired in the memory. An integral part of this work is also didactic teaching of foreign languages and its characteristics. Required skills in a foreign language, then set the General Educational Programme for Basic Education, which allows us to set learning goals. The theoretical part is also a methodology to creating tutorials foreign language with the use of drama in education and its reflection. The practical part contains taught lessons on selected topics of the English language, where I used drama as a teaching resource.
Concept Maps and Their Use in Learning of University Students

This thesis presents concept maps as an alternative tool for learning of adult university students. The theoretical part explains the changes in the ability to learn of these adult students. The thesis presents basic information about concept maps and describes specific examples for their use by university students. I describe the advantages and disadvantages which bring them this information recording graphical tool. The empirical part combines all topics of the theoretical part. Qualitative research presents the subjective views of adult university students on changes in their ability to learn. They try to create concept map and then they give their subjective views on this tool and their previous experience with it.
