The evolution of the traitor: A psychological analysis of Emanuel Moravec personality Martin Brummer Abstract The dissertation aims to describe the personality of the World War II collaborator Emanuel Moravec. The psychobiographical study applies qualitative methods to gather and interpret the data. Secondary literature, primarily two monographs (Pernes, 1997; Vytlačil, 1993) and several other studies, constitutes the first source of data. The compiling biography of Moravec based on the analysis of the secondary sources was written and attached to the addendum of the dissertation. Books written by Moravec or transcriptions of the speeches of Moravec within the years 1918 and 1943 were the second main source of the data. The total of page of analyzed books amounts to over 4000. The investigation of sources was based on the method of desk research using selective and axial coding. As a result the main categories were established, to which following theories were applied: a) depth psychology of Donald Winnicott and Karen Horney; b) narrative analysis of Dan McAdams and Kevin Murray; c) cultural-historical activity theory of Yrjö Engeström. Anne Sexton and her transformations of fairy tales

This thesis deals with the life and work of the American poet Anne Sexton. The focus is mainly on her collection Transformations, which comprises poems that retell fairy tales originally collected by the German brothers Grimm. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical approaches of psychobiography and the psychology of art literature, which are employed in the analysis. The theoretical section of the work also includes a biography of Anne Sexton and a brief overview of her life's work, with a specific focus on the Transformations collection. A dedicated chapter is also devoted to the exploration of confessional poetry, as the literary genre to which Anne Sexton's work belongs. The practical part of the work consists of an analysis and interpretation of selected poems from the Transformations collection, namely the poems The Golden Key and Briar Rose. The thesis further deals with Anne Sexton's relationship with her father, and the final chapter reflects on the feminist aspects within the poet's work.

Sylvia Plath and her work from the perspective of psychobiography

The goal of my bachelor's thesis is to analyse the relationship between Sylvia Plath's biography and her work, focusing on the so-called confidence poems, especially in the question of her relationship with her father, using the principles of psychobiography. The first part of the thesis focuses on the concepts of psychobiography as conceived by William T. Schultz and the psychology of artistic literature. The thesis also includes a brief biography of Sylvia Plath, an introduction of confessional poetry, and a short survey of the author's work. The primary sources I work with in this thesis are Plath's artwork and her journals. In this thesis I also present three different studies that have previously focused on Sylvia Plath's work and life. For the purpose of this thesis, I have chosen the poem Daddy, one of Sylvia Plath's most famous poems, which I discuss and analyse in detail in the thesis. I will interpret the findings psychologically, primarily using a psychoanalytic perspective. Finally, I compare my findings with the biography of the subject under study. This theoretical thesis tries to make a comprehensive view of the personality of Dostoevsky by using principles of psychobiography. First part of the work introduces main psychobiographical book written by William T. Schultz et al. and some others fields focused on psychology of art or artists. Biography of Dostoevsky as the initial material we analyze is also necessary part of the work. Freud's work about Dostoevsky that emphasizes parricide as a key theme of Dostoevsky's final novel and gives it into connection with his life and his relationship with father is starting point of analysis of Dostoevsky's life. Opinions of literary scientists and others experts and also thorough analysis of "Brothers Karamazov" are added to the interpretation of Freud's essay.

Goethe in psychonalytic literature

The theoretical thesis, which aims to find and compare different conceptions and interpretation of the life of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The interest of this thesis is centered on the interpretation of Goethe's relationship with his sister. Interpretation of the relationship of Goethe and his sister is based on two approaches, the psychoanalytic and historical approach. Psychoanalytic approach is represented by Sigmund Freud and Kurt Eissler, who offer interpretations of some aspects of the relationship of Goethe with his sister. Historical approach is represented by Richard Friedenthal and Astrid Seele. They submit biographical context of the poets life and also point to his relationship with his sister. On the basis of these sources are data analyzed within psychoanalytic theory. To explain Goethe's relationship with his sister is thinking about the form of their incestuous sibling relationship or oedipus complex.
