History and catalog of the historical library of the parish of St. Vojtěch in Prague - New Town
PIVOŇKOVÁ, Alena
The aim of this thesis was to create a catalog of manuscripts and prints of the parish library near the church of St. Vojtěch in Prague - New Town. The work is divided into several chapters. These individual chapters are briefly introduced in the introduction. The introduction is followed by a chapter dealing with the literature and sources used. The next two subsequent chapters both deal with the history, firstly of the originator of the book fund, i.e. the history of the St. Vojtěch parish (it is supplemented by an overview of the parish priests and chaplains) and then of the library itself. The fifth chapter then explains how the catalog was created and informs about the total number of manuscripts and prints in the library. The entire sixth chapter is devoted to the analysis of the book collection and is divided into 10 subsections according to the aspects of this analysis. The first examines the time of creation of the parish books, the second examines the content (theme) of the books, the third examines the language used, the fourth contains listed places of publication and printing, the fifth and sixth include information about the printers and publishers of all prints, the seventh mentions the illustrations contained in the parish books, and the eighth examines the bindings of the books. The conclusion tries to evaluate the set goals. A list of sources and literature, and finally a catalog of the parish library are also attached. The thesis also contains photographs (specifically chapters 6.5, 6.6, 6.7 and 6.8).

Hausner, Martin ; Petráček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Stříbrný, Jan (referee)
The aim of this work was to describe the history of the parish in Most in years 1945 - 1990. This period comprises almost half a century, which was full of dramatic events in the state, political, municipal, parochial and private area. The defeat of the Nazi ideology occured at the beginning of this period and the fall of the atheistic ideology at its end. Also the parish in Most was afflicted by many changes and strokes during this period. Firstly, it was the post- war terror against German inhabitants and their violent removal. Shortly afterwards occurs the communist putsch, which leads to the initially hidden and soon afterwards to the open fight against Churches. The Church becomes a slave to the supervision and the authority of state officials. The parish in Most with its churches is almost symbolically in the spirit of the time swept off from the earth's surface at this time and the asylum was founded in a small parish hall. After nearly twenty years of living in the constant provisional arrangement has the parish its own church again. The totalitarianism is at the end of its power and the democracy is coming. The parish in Most is learning to live and to breath freely after many decades of the lack of the freedom. Keywords History, church, parish, churches, priests

Blažek, Ondřej ; Šebek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Šmíd, Marek (referee) ; Jonová, Jitka (referee)
This thesis deals with events during the Czech Catholic exile in Italy with a focus on the 1960's. It provides a closer look at the institutional and discursive changes that took place at the time of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) and the subsequent stay of Cardinal Josef Beran in Rome (1965-1969). The work focuses mainly on the development of the publishing house Christian Academy, the Velehrad Center and the Nepomucenum Papal College where the leading figures of Czech Catholic exile, mostly priests, worked. By using the method of historical discourse analysis the work studies how the pro-conciliary orientation which defined itself in opposition towards conservative tendency in the Church became increasingly predominant in the exile environment. Last but not least, the work also shows how the form of Catholic exile discourse in Italy was influenced by the changing relationship between papal diplomacy and Communist Czechoslovakia.
