Within last twenty years is has been changed significantly several times. The changes have been intended to contribute mainly to the reduction in the number of exploited sickness leaves, to the strengthening of responsibility of employees, employers and physicians. After 1989 the system faced many legal modifications. This thesis is focused on analysis of the health insurance system in the Czech Republic after year 1989. The theoretical resources of the thesis are human and social rights, social security and its principles. The main segment of the theoretical part of the thesis is a function of the right for social security and a description of health insurance. The exploratory part of the thesis analyses the chosen occurrences relating to the health insurance system problems and thereby it responds to questions asked in the introduction of the thesis. Jana Krutská Analysis of Incapacity for Work Due to Disease or Injury and Presenteeism in the Czech Republic Abstract The aim of this doctoral thesis is to provide the readers with as comprehensive view of the issue of sickness and accident rate of workers in relation to work attendance as possible. The dissertation deals with both absenteeism of sick individuals, i.e. the incapacity for work due to disease or injury, and presenteeism, that is the performance of gainful employment despite acutely impaired health condition. Due to the different nature and level of knowledge of the examined phenomena, each of them is devoted a different level of attention. The issue of the incapacity for work due to disease or injury is analyzed in more detail. Development of the parametric values is set in the context of administration and legal changes, which have occurred in the Czech Republic since the early 1990s, and conditionality of the occurrence of the incapacity for work due to disease or injury are further investigated based on individual anonymized data. In the part dealing with presenteeism, the dissertation introduces the readers to the basic findings that have been published so far about this type of addressing health incapacitation. Comparison of wage compensation and sickness insurance in the Czech Republic and Great Britain in the period 2007 - 2016

This bachelor thesis provides an analysis of wage compensation and sickness insurance in the Czech Republic and analysis of wage compensation in the Great Britain. The differences between aforementioned systems emerge from different approach to social policy. The British system arised from a liberal model of social state. On the other hand, Czech system arised from a redistributive model. In the Czech model, higher social benefits are provided. It makes higher pressure on the state budget. Benefits in the British model are at a low level and are tested by income. The Czech system provides a higher salary replacement rate than the British system. The Czech system is more solid and provides higher coverage ratio of mandatory spendings. But the British system offers absolute equivalence. All employees in the Great Britain recieve the same amount of wage compensation.

The thesis focuses on the Risk Life Insurance of the Czech insurance market offering coverage just for serious health risks without any investment or savings component. Assessment of the Risk Life Insurance offer is based on the findings of the general and special insurance conditions as well as on the gained draft insurance contracts worked on the model setting. The aim of the thesis is the analysis of the main coverage which is in all cases the life insurance along with the offer of the complementary insurance for case of death, disability, cancer or severe diseases. The emphasis is on the scope of risks coverage and the insurance conditions which are considered to be an insurance event.

Socioeconomic effects of changes in the sickness insurance system after year 2009 in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of insurance system in the Czech Republic and its transformations since 2009. Analysis of social and economic effect that was brought by alternation in legislation in code 187 / 2006 has become the objective of this work. The reasons for issuing the legislation alternation were struggles to change negative trends in sick insurance, to avoid unjustified costs and to ensure financial stability of the system. The introduction mentions theoretical concepts concerning the topic of the work and methods and procedures used while composing this diploma thesis. The area of the sick insurance is characterized by basic principles, terms and conditions in claim system and brief history of social protection institute in Czech Republic is also covered. The empiric part describes individual changes as a part of public finance reform. Specific impact on selected actors was subsequently analyzed. Three possible sceneries of resolving sick insurance issue are designed in the final part of the work.

Absence from work

This thesis focuses on employees' incapacity to work as a factor that negatively affects the functioning of an organization. The resulting negative financial impact is felt not only at the level of specific organizations, but also can affect a country's macroeconomic performance. To be able to understand the issue of work absence, it is necessary to consider it in the context of a state's political and social situation. It is also essential to take into account legislative regulations regarding absenteeism that dictate the procedures required for both employees and employers. A serious problem associated with sick leave is the unauthorized absence of employees from work that results in significant burden on employers as well as hinders the macroeconomic functioning of the state. Although there are public institutions involved in activities for reducing absenteeism, the task of investigating the reasons for increased work absence is usually left up to the employer. That includes a responsibility to find and incorporate into the organization's policy an effective and appropriate solution for reducing work absence and stabilization of amount of absence. It is also important to avoid creating an environment that leads to so called "presenteeism," which is the presence of employees in the workplace...
