Hanková, Kristýna ; Hronzová, Marie (advisor) ; Hájková, Jana (referee)
Bachelor thesis discusses the issue of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). It deals specifically with principles, selection and application of appropriate physical activities that are a significant part of the overall treatment of patients affected by JIA. The theoretical part focuses on basic terms and the summarization of findings about JIA; it further deals with causing factors, clinical manifestation, diagnosis and treatment options. The purpose and importance of physical therapy is described is the special part. For each stage of the disease appropriate set of exercises and principles of movements for individual human body joints are presented, with more options of physical activities suitable for a complex physical treatment. The practical part then presents a case study of an individual with juvenile idiopathic arthritis who has undergone a kinesiological examination which was a basis for creating a short-term and a long-term exercise plan.

Execise Therapy in Female Adolescents Hospitalised with Anorexia Nervosa
Ulrichová, Michaela ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Krch, František (referee) ; Papežová, Hana (referee)
Objective: Body image disturbance is one of the main characteristics of anorexia nervosa (AN). It is present in different stages of the disease, often persisting even after the end of the treatment, and is one of the predictors of a relaps. Body image is composed of two main components - the perceptual component, and the attitudinal component. Anorexia nervosa patients show a disturbed attitudinal component of the body image. The perceptual component disruption hasn't been completely proven yet. Many authors do, however, warn about the overestimation of bodily proportions of patients with AN and it's possible relation with characteristics such as BMI. Goals: The main goal of the dissertation thesis was the objectivization of the body image disturbance of the patients hospitalized with anorexia nervosa, the comparison of their results with a group of healthy girls of the same age, and the search for factors connected to the defect of the body image. A side goal of the dissertation thesis was the measurement of the effect of kinesiotherapy on the anxiety level of AN patients. Methods: As a part of the practical section, the measurements of 27 hospitalized patients and 20 healthy girls were completed. Probands underwent body size estimation of 4 bodily segments. They estimated the length of their arm,...

Title: Comparison of educational and compensation exercise programmes for ankylosing spondylitis patients Objective: The objective of the research was to determine the effect of two educational and compensation exercise programmes on the mobility of the axial system, the functional status and disease activity (including inflammatory process activity) in individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: The research group included men and women (average age of 35.42 ± 7.15 years), all out-patients of the Institute of Rheumatology in Prague. This characteristic sample (n ═ 38) consisted of respondents who were randomised into three groups: The first experimental group (n ═ 13) attended an educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week) and an educational and compensation exercise programme in the form of a group exercise in a pool - hydrokinesiotherapy (once a week); the second experimental group (n ═ 13) attended the same educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week); the control group educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week) received no exercise intervention but its members were allowed to use "passive" physiotherapeutic procedures (e.g. hydrotherapy or...

Šmejkal, Jiří ; Zeman, Václav (advisor) ; Topolčan, Ondřej (referee) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
v anglickém jazyce: Incidence and management of muscle imbalances in physically active and inactive populations: Objective rehabilitation solutions for populations with nonspecific back pain Summary Totally 258 patients with chronic low back pain aged 51,5 +8,4 years were treated for three weeks in the Rehabilitation Centre focused on lumbar back pain. We observed incidence of muscle dysbalances and accomplished their exact objectiveness using the Tergumed system. We tried to compare and solve their mutual influence during the rehabilitation treatment. We compared differences between physically active and physically inactive population, the impact of total motivation, age and other factors on the improvement of strenght, motion, dysbalances and total pain relief.Significant improvement of movement and muscle strenght p <0,001 were documented on the Tergumed in three weeks. The physically active population and patients motivated.by using the Tergumed preferred active exercises to passive therapy. We also observed improvement in finger-floor distance and reduction of pain, documented by the visual analogue scale, decrease in body weight and cholesterol level (p <0,001). In three- week observation nor significant changes in muscle dysbalance, neither their differences according to sex,age ,chronical...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Title: Physiotherapy in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis Abstract: This bachelor thesis is consisting of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is consisting of the basics of neuroanatomy needed to understand the disease, pathophysiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and clarify the term motor neuron disease. Then is the ALS described in more details, talks about its history, epidemiology, aetiology, diagnosis, clinical manifestation, classification, treatment and palliative care in patients with ALS. In terms of physiotherapy is first described the course of physiotherapy in the 6 stages of ALS. Subsequently, specific physiotherapeutic techniques are described, which are used in therapy with a justification of what we can influence with their help. The described techniques are respiratory physiotherapy, active exercise, dynamic neuromuscular stabilization, passive exercise and the possibility of influencing pain through physiotherapy. The practical part is consisting of an information brochure for patients with ALS in the 1st and 2nd stage of the disease and a case report of a patient in the late phase of ALS. The brochure is containing basic information about the disease and the possibilities of movement and exercise with the...
Multifactorial etiology of frozen shoulder syndrome and intervention possibilities of physical therapy
Pilátová, Markéta ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Machač, Stanislav (referee)
Theoretical part of the thesis is a scientific research of latest articles about frozen shoulder syndrome with accent to immunohistochemical level. At the same time, based on scientific literature it aims to clarify and statistically prove multifactorial causes of this syndrome especially in women going through hormonal changes. Psychosocial factors are also taken into account in this study and examined by unique questionnaire that was made expressly for this thesis. The questionnaire originates from internationally accepted clinimetrics such as VAS, SPADI, DASH score and most importantly SF-36. The theoretical research part also consists of "Therapy" chapter which describes latest trending treatment method for this condition. Experimental part, which consists of few case reports, focuses on a group of female patients who underwent range of motion measurement including functional testing of the affected limb. Next step followed was consecutive twelve minutes exercise on bicycle. They were controlled not to cross over anaerobic threshold. Level of exercise was controlled by predicted heart rate and estimation of the threshold by basic calculation and also by subjective Borg's scale of effort determined by the patient. After the bicycle exercise the range of motion was measured again and compared to the...
