Early reading literacy development of early readers at the beginning of the school attendance Abstract The aim of the dissertation is to monitor the development of the initial reading literacy of early readers, i.e., children who have learned to read with the comprehension before beginning of their school attendance. The aim of the research was to find answers to the questions how and when these children learned to read and how their initial reading literacy and motivation to read developed during the first year of primary school. Subsequently, the subject of the research was the verification of the connection between early reading and intellectual giftedness and family background. The theoretical part is devoted to current trends in primary school, the basic principles of primary education are described with emphasis on personal and constructivist conception of teaching, focusing on the topics of pupil assessment and inclusive education, including the education of gifted and exceptionally gifted students. The term reading literacy is defined, the stages of its development are distinguished and questions concerning reading are discussed, including the results of research on early reading in the Czech and foreign contexts. RWCT methods at the start of the school attendance

The aim of this thesis was to study RWCT methods used at the beginning of a school attendance and to study appropriate conditions for applying RWCT methods. The thesis deals with searching for the best method of the very initial pupils reading and also appropriate teaching materials with regard to RWCT. There is described a three-phase model of E-U-R education and selected method of critical thinking. The practical part of the thesis contains preparation for lessons processed using RWCT methods and summarizes results of pedagogical action research. The outcomes of the thesis confirm that if pupils have suitable conditions at the beginning of a school attendance, they are able to use RWCT methods in practise.

Diploma thesis deals of drama education in beginning of the school attendance. The theoretical part explains the basic terms as drama education, drama education objectives, methods and techniques, personality of drama teacher. In the practical part I present a plan of dramatic lesson. The empirical part examines whether drama education can affect the climate of the class, cohesion of the team or whether it may present difficulties in social contacts. Research metods are observation, dialogue and questionnaire survey.

This diploma thesis deals with theme of a work of a novice drama teacher at the beginning of school attendance. Specially in the first mid-term of the first class. The theoretical part is a vocational knowledge file which is the practical part based on. The thesis allows a deep view into the drama education. It will help us to learn about a child in the start of schooling and also the aims of the early education of the first mid-term. It also defines the drama education and its principles, goals and forms. The thesis describes an inclusion of drama education in FEP (for Elementary Education) and the ideal properties of a drama education teacher. It deals with an idea of dramatic game, system of the preparatory games and exercises. It does not only introduce methods and techniques of drama education, but it also helps us to create and plan the lessons, often with a use of literary basis. Practical part is based on an assumption or editing of ten lessons of drama education taught by a novice teacher. The lessons aim to develop friendly climate in a class, cooperation support, child social development and teaching of drama education with basic techniques. Knowledge of mathematics at the beginning of school attendance

The diploma thesis is focused on mathematical knowledge of pupils at the beginning of primary school. The theoretical part deals with characteristics of a preschool child and of a child at the beginning of a primary school, and especially with the specifics in their cognitive functions. Further the theses includes a chapter with an overview of several surveys about mathematical skills of Czech pupils. Finally, there is a chapter about building mathematical ideas at school and in a family. The practical part of the theses presents the results of the quantitative research in the field of mathematical ideas of a primary school child.
