Introduction to the problem: Pharmacotherapy is a very complex and specific topic. Many of healthcare professionals, including nurses, are involved in pharmacotherapy management. Although this field is ensured by various legal standards, some competences of nurses are not clearly defined. The primary aim of this research was to analyse the current role of the nurse in pharmacotherapy out of a physician's perspective. Methodology: The data as a part of the multicentric project was collected in the form of semi- structured in-depth interviews with selected physicians also called key-informants. The obtained data were analysed by open coding followed by categorisation. Finally, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis was used to assess the opportunities and threats, which are related to determination of the ideal role of the nurse in drug administration. Results: Current practice shows that nurses are performing activities beyond their competences. Therefore, I consider legislative changes in this area appropriate. At many departments is not cooperation with the clinical pharmacist well established, moreover in some cases doctors are not interested in it. Legal liability of a physician in graduate medical training and its practical consequences Abstract From both legal as well as practical point of view, a physician in training (i.e. without specialist qualification for performing the medical profession of physician) finds himself in a unique position, differing from those of any other medical staff. Having completed a medical degree, a physician starts his journey towards obtaining an unrestricted license to practice medicine. However, up until a successful ending of his graduate training, he is required to practice medicine under direct or indirect supervision of an attending physician, with a sole exception of those procedures explicitly permitted to be done unsupervised. With regard to the above mentioned, the aim of this thesis is to deliver a complex picture analysing legal liability of a physician in graduate medical training. The work will include findings on why conventional physicians are heading towards Eastern medicine. Due to the debate of the topic, the thesis will continue to deal with the legislative anchoring of TCM in the laws of the Czech Republic and the world. The theoretical part of the thesis presents basic concepts related to the history and philosophy of the TCM. It also describes methods of diagnostics, treatment and pillars that the TCM supports...
