Dvořáčková, Barbora ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Suková Vychopňová, Kateřina (referee)
in English This master's thesis focuses on the insufficient inclusion of interjections in the teaching of French and aims to introduce new approaches to incorporate them into textbooks and teaching materials. The theoretical part of the thesis explores interjections as a part of speech, their phonological anomalies, and their roles in texts. Emphasis is placed on researching and analyzing interjections in various textual contexts, providing a comprehensive perspective on interjections and emphasizing their importance in the French language. The practical part of the thesis is dedicated to the creation of various exercises and activities that serve as inspiration for French language teachers. These activities are designed with consideration for different age groups and student levels to ensure effective engagement and the development of interjection- related skills. The proposed activities include project tasks, creating dialogues, and creative writing. The aim of these activities is to promote active communication, understanding, and expression using interjections, thereby enriching students' language skills. Additionally, the theoretical part discusses the significance of interjections as initiators of human speech. This thesis brings new perspectives and tools to enhance the teaching of the...
Stylistic Differences in English Speeches of Male and Female Members of the European Parliament
Buňková, Jana ; Matuchová, Klára (advisor) ; Morgan, Craig Alan (referee)
This diploma thesis is a sociolinguistic analysis of speeches rendered in English by members of the European Parliament. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the stylistic patterns in speeches of members of the European Parliament based on gender, as a sociolinguistic factor. This thesis is based on three main linguistic disciplines: grammar, stylistics and sociolinguistics. The practical part is based on a research of 100 randomly chosen members of the European Parliament, 50 men and 50 women, whose speeches rendered in English, were transcribed and analyzed by the quantitative method used for a comparison of linguistic features. This thesis predominantly focuses on grammatical analysis of parts of speech and syntax. It also deals with hyper- sentential links: cohesion and coherence. This thesis also includes profiles of MEP which, together with other sociolinguistic researches, help to interpret the results of a grammatical analysis. The practical part is concluded by profiles of hypothetic MEPs who are likely to render their speech in English.

Mazaná, Vladislava ; Horák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Glomb, Vladimír (referee)
1 TITLE: Sino-Korean Lexicon in Modern Korean AUTHOR: Vladislava Mazana DEPARTMENT: Institute of East Asian Studies SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Tomáš Horák, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This diploma paper is focused on morphological aspects of the Sino-Korean lexicon in modern Korean, the main topics are Sino-Korean word-formation and Sino-Korean classification of parts of speech. Hereby considered are the typological differences between Korean, an agglutinative language and Chinese, an isolative-polysyntetic language. The problem with Sino-Korean words is their ambiguity and vagueness, they appear in various grammatical and syntactical functions with their form unchanged. One morpheme can simultaneously function as an affix and root. This paper analyzes forms of function units, it deals with ways of word-formation (composition and derivation). The ways of prefixation and suffixation are researched. Based on the results of this analysis an adequate classification of Sino-Korean parts of speech is aimed to be established. Both the original Korean and the Chinese systems of parts of speech are taken into account but neither of them corresponds with the characterics and functions of the Sino-Korean words. Considering the multifunctional character of Sino-Korean morphemes it is extremely difficult to classify the words into parts of...

Veselková, Alice ; Šmejkalová, Martina (advisor) ; Hájková, Eva (referee)
RESUMÉ V ANGLICKÉM JAZYCE The diploma thesis is focused on parts of speech in the Czech language in the lower primary school. Its aim is to chart it on the general level, to introduce their definition, their historical background and the selection into the word-classes. The theoretical section introduces the parts of speech as the common part of the language. It describes them on basis of the syntactic, semantic and morphological division. That is needed for concrete introduction and realisation of the individual parts of speech. For each word class there is also briefly showed how they are presented in contemporary Czech language textbooks for the lower primary school. The practical part focuses on introduction of new methods of teaching parts of speech mainly through games and unconventional tools. The games contain rules, time management, tools and number of pupils involved. Furthermore., there are the interviews with the teachers of the concrete lower primary school who had got to test the games and tools and summarizes their opinions. KEY WORDS parts of speech, teaching, the lower primary school, unconventional approach to teaching, games, unconventional tools
Particals in moder vietmese language
Slavická, Binh ; Vrhel, František (advisor) ; Vasiljev, Ivo (referee) ; Strašáková, Mária (referee)
This doctoral thesis is concerned with particles in modern Vietnamese. Although Vietnamese particles form a small group of synsemantic words, they play a very important role in expressing the attitude of the speaker to the hearer/listener and to the message content as well as expressing grammatical and modal relationships within the sentence. The group includes particles positioned at the end of the sentence, particles appearing before a word as well as at the beginning of a phrase or a sentence. Despite their important function, particles in Vietnamese still are a scarcely explored topic. Particles have been explored usually as part of grammar books; so far, there are only few monographs on the topic of particles. Almost all works deal with a small number of particles and focus especially on those appearing at the end of the sentence. This work is concerned with particles at the end of the sentence as well as particles preceding a word, a phrase, or a sentence. It examines whether particles in Vietnamese are a part of speech at all; it sets forth criteria for classification of particles; it performs their analysis based on actual situations where they appear and describes their semantic characteristics; furthermore, it offers a chart of particles including their possible combinations. Besides, the...
