Preoperative physiotherapy in patients with planned cardiac surgery
KRONESOVÁ, Karolína
The bachelor thesis investigates preoperative physiotherapy options for patients with upcoming cardiac surgery. The thesis examines physiotherapeutic options before the cardiac surgery, which aim to be beneficial in the postoperative phase. The first goal is to map physiotherapeutic methods available for patients with upcoming cardiac surgery. The second goal is to compile educational material for patients who are planning to undergo a cardiac operation. I formulate two following research questions to achieve these goals: 1. Which physiotherapeutic methods are available for patients with upcoming cardiac surgery? 2. What effect has the educational material for patients with upcoming cardiac surgery? The theoretical part focuses on the following areas: anatomy of thorax and heart, physiology of bloodstream and heart, and on respiratory system. The next topic is a description of basic concepts of cardiac surgery and physiotherapeutic methods, which we can use in cardiac rehabilitation. The practical part of the work is based on qualitative research - case studies of four probands with planned cardiac surgery. Before the surgery, the input examination was performed to set starting values. The output examination took place right before the patient's release to home care for final evaluation. Probands were found thanks to the department of cardiac and chest surgery in České Budějovice hospital. The research was held during proband's hospitalization, and the whole therapy process was monitored. Based on kinesiological analysis input and output, I evaluated the effect of preoperative physiotherapy as positive for three out of four probands. Proband 1 had a significant extension of maximal respiratory mouth pressures; her thorax increased its volume and duration of inhaling and exhale. Despite lowered expectations, Proband 2 improved her maximal inspiratory and expiratory mouth pressures. Chest volume of Proband 3 increased during measurements. Due to the health condition of Proband 4, I could not perform her output examination.

Title: Rehabilitation of Child with Cerebral Palsy in the Preoperative and Postoperative Period Author: Renata Šmídová Objective: During my practice I have met with a number of pediatric patients affected by cerebral palsy who underwent corrective orthopedic surgery, which in some cases were unfortunately unsuccessful. Based on the initial acquisition of information on this issue, I found a number of studies and articles on the success of orthopedic surgery in cerebral palsy. In many studies point out that the proper choice of physiotherapy has great benefit for orthopedic intervention, so I decide to map a connections orthopedic and physiotherapy approaches on the case and describe the elements of rehabilitation used in the treatment of selected patient. In the first part of the thesis I process in detail neurological disorder cerebral palsy (CP) and surgical treatment of deformities resulting from the operation of this disease. The second part includes a case study that describes the rehabilitation work of the physiotherapist with a child patient who undergoes corrective surgery on the lower limb. The third section contains qualitative research, conducted on the parents. Using the survey was to determine the effect of parents' opinion and the whole course of therapy. The aim: Demonstrate the...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT First name, surname: Olga Drahorádová Supervisor: Ing. Marie Novotná Title of the bachelor thesis: Physiotherapy in patients with shoulder replacement. Influence of preoperative physiotherapy. Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of physiotherapy in patients after shoulder replacement surgery. Target is oriented to find out an influence of preoperative physiotherapy beside patients indicated with reverse total endoprosthesis of the shoulder joint. This thesis is separated into two main parts. The theoretical part describes anatomy and kinesiology of shoulder girdle, types of shoulder replacement, indications, contraindications and options of operation solutions. In additional contains information about most common issues and handicaps of shoulder girdle and summary of finding physiotherapy options with mentioned patients. The practical part evaluates data, which have been obtained due to questionaire methody "Shoulder Assesment Form". Patients have been randomly split up into two diferent groups according selected criterias. The both groups completed standard postoperative physiotherapy, but only one of them had also integrated preoperative physiotherapy. The result of this paper is resume about the short preoperation therapeutic one, which makes possible to...

The problems of Pediatric Thoracic Surgery from the view of respiratory Physiotherapy
Světlíková, Adéla ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Bitnar, Petr (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on pediatric surgery in thoracic area and its dilemma. The theoretical part contains knowledge about anatomy, physiology and kinesiology of developing organism. It is followed by overview of the most common diagnoses indicating thoracic surgery, describing each of those surgeries individually. The biggest issue of entire pediatric thoracic surgery is the risk of postoperative complications, which is also discussed in the thesis. This part is then followed by discussing means of physiotherapy. The informations are divided into several parts, each describing means of physiotherapy used in different time sequences. Practical part contains general means of examination and physiotherapic approach depending on patient's age. The last part is devoted to casuistry, which clearly demonstrates issues related to pediatric thoracic surgery from the physiotherapeutic point of view.
