Culture as a Public Service and Legal Forms for Its Providing

in English: Culture is an integral part of civil society. Its positive effect on human being affects whole society. Social relations are created by culture. For that culture is percieved as public service to which is necessary to create appropriate atmosphere for its developement. There are a number of instruments which can do that, for example legislative atmosphere, cultural politics of state, regions and towns, public and private support and motivation of citizens to participate actively. According to theatres in Prague I try to describe these instruments and to find out which legal form is the most appropriate for cultural subjects from the legislative point of view and practic functioning.
Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility

This master thesis is dedicated to strategic corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to the concept of creating shared value (CSV). It analyses the difference between CSV and common business philanthropy which is based on allocation of some part of their profit. It shows the connection between business and civic society. Currently the companies realise that their success is related to the well-being of the society in which they work. Therefore - when adopting the concept of CSV companies focus on the field in which they are active in their core business. The thesis concentrates on partnering business companies with civic society organisations. This is based on the belief that social and economic aims coincide. This partnership is a challenge to find a solution to common social issues. It should gain profit to both sides. The theory of this thesis is complemented by a research and analysis of interviews with respondents from both business and civic companies.
Civic society organizations providing social services and entrepreneurial activities in Pardubice region

SYNOPSIS This thesis covers partial universe of civic society organizations that provide social services in Pardubice region. The primary goal of the thesis is to explore, through a questionnaire research, whether the income generated by these organizations is a determining factor in their association with the concept of social economy and social enterprise. The secondary goal is to identify, using semi-structured interviews with the representatives of civic society organizations, how they fulfill principles of social enterprise based to the "softer definition" developed by EMES. The first two chapters introduce concepts of public sector and social economy as well as identify their similarities and differences. It is followed by a description of social services and support of civic society organizations from the view point of several parties. The third chapter is dedicated to the actual research.
Civic Society Organizations Supporting Employment of Parents in Prague and Central Region (2010 - 2012)

Diploma thesis "Civil Society Organizations supporting employment of parents in Prague and Central Bohemian Region (2010 - 2012)" deals with the mapping of supply of civil society organizations in the area of Prague and Central Bohemia in the years 2010 - 2012, which aim to promote employment of parents. In the empirical research are included programs of personal and professional development of clients, help with their orientation in the labour market, advice on a finding new work (including setting up own business) and programs that are focused on working with employers and reconciling family and working life. In view of the fact that these organizations offers, of course, to some extent dependent on the characteristics of the Czech Republic, family and employment policies of the state and the European Union, the thesis contains also a summary of key facts that are related to this area. In conclusion, this thesis contains not only an analysis of research outputs, but as well as a draft recommendations, which could lead to improvement of the situation.
Civil society organization operating in the Czech cinema after 1989

This thesis deals with civil society organizations in the field of cinema in the Czech Republic. Cinematography is part of art and industry, with further influences of technology, culture, social or political situation. As in other areas there creates also civil society in the field of cinematography. The aim of this work is to determine the reasons are civil society organization formed and how they function. Due to the broad approach of the target group the research project work was targeted at those organizations that contribute to the development, support and promotion of Czech cinematography in general, and are the major players with the conceptual and strategic influence to the whole area.
The Comparison of the Image of the Contact Center Netopeer - Multi-Purpose Drug Service from the Clients', Employees'and Public's Point of View.

This thesis deals with the image factors of the Contact Center Netopeer - Multi-Purpose Drug Service Znojmo, which is one of the subsidiaries of organization called Sdružení Podané ruce, o.s. The theoretical part focuses on the gathering the information concerning the individual aspects of organization image and its following application on civil society organizations. I determine the factors, which influence a good name of the Contact Center - Netopeer from the employees', clients' and public's point of view, with the help of the qualitative research method. Research shows that the important image factors for this organization are: staff behavior during the communication with customers and clients, helpfulness, efficiency and responsibility of the staff, staff competence and professionalism, trust of customers and clients in the institute, quality of offered products, services and ideas and hygiene, cleanness and aesthetics of the institute premises.
Analysis of the Current Relationship of Civil society organizations and European Programmes in Prague

The aim of this diploma thesis is to map out the possibilities of Prague civil society organizations regarding the drawing of EU funds. In the search I focused on mapping of current European programs for the Prague civil society organizations (programs provided for the programming period 2007 - 2013). I will also present opportunities compared with those in the previous programming period 2004 - 2006. Part of the search are chapters dedicated to the financing of civil society and the transformation of their organizational structure. In the empirical part I focused my on selected civil society organizations that administrated project under the Operational Programme Prague - Adaptability. The aim of the research were through semi-structured interviews to determine how individual civil society organizations look at the whole process of administration of European projects, whether they were faced with some problems or have comments on how the whole process. When analyzing the interviews and documents I have also monitored whether the selected civil society organizations in connection with the drawing of EU funds somehow transformed their organizational structure is concerned. Statutory and economic transformation of the Czech philharmonic orchestra

The target of the study was an analysis of the current legal environment of the state contributory culture organizations in the Czech Republic and the options for their transformation into non-profit non-governmental organizations. This was demonstrated on the case of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, a contributory organization. Apart form the analysis of the documents, mainly analysis of semi-structured expert interviews, inner observations and informal expert interviews were applied in the qualitative research. These methods were the tool for a conclusion whether the current legal form of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra is appropriate or whether there is a more suitable alternative in the current Czech legal environment. The result of the research is its practical application demonstrated on a model transformation of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra into a non- profit organization (a specific type of a Czech non-profit non-governmental organization serving the public interest and/or common good), according to the Act on non-profit non- governmental organizations in its amended version.
Talking about immigration to Europe. Analysis of facebook posts of Doctors without borders

The subject of this diploma thesis is the potential of organizations of civil society to influence public debate about immigration to Europe via Facebook. Conclusions introduced in this diploma thesis are based on my own empirical research as well as on literature focused on public relations. Research is designed as single case study of Facebook communication of Doctors without Borders. I explore the diversity of topics and argumentation present in the organization's communication, reactions of its audience and mutual interactions between organization and its audience. I explain that content, visual and formal aspects may play a key role when an organization is trying to address wide audience, whose ideas is willing to shape and influence. Research points out that the communication of Doctors without Borders about migration to Europe is one-sided, because it's mainly driven by activities and mission of the organization. This one-sidedness is partly compensated by engaged audience that enriches discussions under the Facebook posts of the organization with diverse topics and opinions. The thesis tries to capture the significance of tension between organization and its audience that raises inspirational discussions, which might not occur in case of absolute consensus. An effect of receiving a subsidy from EU fonds on social enterprise sustainability - A case study

Dissertation is concerned on sustainability of social enterprise, which has started its business thanks to EU funding during the period 2007 - 2013. Social enterprises as social economy subjects make up an important part of national economy and extend possibilities to obtain financial sources for nonprofit operation. EU funding reflects the importance of social enterprises in promoting level of employment. The aim of the research is to get a complex description of surveyed case with a special emphasis on social and financial sustainability in the the situation after project's completion date. Sustainability of the social enterprise is described with help of The SEED Initiative approach. The SEED Initiative has defined success factors and key indicators of performance of social enterprise sustainability. Dissertation is conceived as a single case study.
