System of Intelligent Flower Pots for Indoor Plants Growing
Kinc, Michael ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Nowadays, when technologies from the world of the Internet of Things are gaining popularity, new possibilities are opening up for the automation of common daily tasks with the help of smart devices. Such a device is also an intelligent flower pot, thanks to which the premature death of the plant can be prevented, as it may be able to warn the grower in time of deteriorating values measured from the soil or the surroundings of the monitored plant. The goal of this work is to create a system of intelligent flower pots for indoor plants growing, which can be controlled through an information system and a web application, in which the user has an overview of his flower pots, the state of the plant and the measured values.
Extension of the magnetic manipulator teaching model using a microcontroller for independent operation
Štupák, Jakub ; Králík, Jan (referee) ; Appel, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design, control and user interface for a magnetic manipulator. Created magnetic manipulator uses three electromagnets, which are used to control the position of a steel ball. The objective of this work was to enhance and extend the functionality of this system, including adding the ability for autonomous operation. Regulation can be executed through either an externally connected HUMUSOFT card or an integrated microcontroller. This enables the use of this system without external hardware and simplifies manipulation. Communication between the system and user is enabled with the use of the ESP32 Bluetooth functionality and an Android app.
Picobaloon s využitím low-power bezdrátových sítí
Kudera, Matěj ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
Aim of this master thesis was to create a small meteorological probe (PicoBaloon) which can record its position and basic meteorological information. Information recorded by this probe has to be transmitted to the user so it can be evaluated. Theoretical portion of this work describes how to create this type of device and which technologies can be used for its implementation. Next, information describing what exactly PicoBaloon is are presented, which are then used to form requirements for this system. Based on described technologies and system requirements final system design was created. Created system consists of two parts. First part is the probe itself which is created on its own piece of printed circuit board. Probe is controlled by a small microcontroller and consists of components that can generate power with a small solar panel, determine its position with GPS, record meteorological information and send recorded information to the user with wireless technology. Second part of the created system is a web application which presents recorded data to the user. At the end of this thesis physical creation and testing of this system is described.
Test benches for microcontroller kits
Žaludek, Ivo ; Burian, František (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a test bench for functional testing of educational kits. These kits are in the form of standalone printed circuit boards, for instance, a module with a microcontroller and its peripherals, such as a display, keyboard, or external memory. A comparison of commercially available testers is conducted, and the requirements for testing of each printed circuit board are identified. Based on these requirements, the design of both the hardware and the software of the test bench was developed. The final stage of the project is the evaluation of the functionality of the test bench.
Liquid Crystal-Based Computational Platform
Klázar, Jakub ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Bidlo, Michal (advisor)
This work explores the possibilities of computations in a liquid crystal, specifically focusing on the logical operations. The text focuses on the design, build and use of a platform for performing experiments on computation in a liquid crystal. The platform is a device to which an LCD display can be connected as a experimental liquid crystal and experiments can be controlled from a computer through this platform. Experiments use, among other things, evolutionary algorithms. Further, the paper deals with the execution of experiments, discussion and processing of results and then creating conclusions of it.
Embedded System for Water Level Monitoring
Hanák, Jiří ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This work is dealing with the design and implementation of an embedded water level monitoring system. The purpose of the system is to control the filling of a tank based on the water level. First of all, the attention is given to the survey of existing measurement techniques and selection of the appropriate sensing elements for a given scenario. In fact, the embedded system is using TFmini and JSN-SR04T-2.0 contactless sensors. The system is controlled by STM32F0 microcontroller from STMicroelectronics programmed in C using HAL abstraction layer. The measured results are sent via Wi-Fi SoC ESP8266EX to the Python server that is used for processing and demonstratiton purposes.
Segway driver parameter estimation and its use for optimizing the control algorithm
Medzi odhadované parametre patrí hmotnosť a poloha ťažiska vodiča. Cieľom práce je zabezpečiť adaptáciu jazdných vlastností vozidla k rôznym vodičom s rôznou hmotnosťou, kvôli zlepšeniu stability vozidla. Táto práca je pokračovaním predchádzajúcich projektov z roku 2011 a 2015.
Class D audio amplifier for laboratory measurements
Svorad, Adam ; Petržela, Jiří (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis delves into a field of Class-D audio amplifiers. Keystone part of the work summarizes theoretical knowledge focused on measuring techniques of lowfrequency amplifiers and audio amplifier design. A deeper insight into building blocks of a general Class-D amplifier is also presented. Gained erudition is applied in the second part, which is devoted to a construction of the device. Exceptional attention is drawn to the design of robust external driver and sophisticated output analog filter. Blueprints required for a PBC layout are provided as well as outputs of performance measurements taken of a fabricated prototype.
Temperature control and monitoring system
Mitter, Martin ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is dealing with the design for maintaining and monitoring optimal temperature for home-based data center. The purpose of this work is to prolong the life of hard drives in data center for as long as possible. First of all, the attention is given to establishing what the optimal temperature for maintaining long-live of hard drives is and how to correctly measure it. Based on the knowledge obtained from theory and from the prototype testing the final design of embedded system for maintaining this function is created.
Embedded Device for Robotic Arm Control
Kyzlink, Jiří ; Goldmann, Tomáš (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design and implementation of an embedded device (module), used to control a robotic manipulator. The module instructs servomotors of the manipulator to move according to the commands received via USB interface. The module consists of two double-sided printed circuit boards. The first one allows connection to the CAN bus, redundant and thus reliable power supply for servomotors as well as the whole module. The second board, compute oriented one, embeds powerful microcontroller used to communicate with the servomotors and to solve the kinematics tasks. As a part of the thesis a graphical user interface as well as a web-oriented interface were developed. Both interfaces allow full control of the manipulator. All the communicating buses, tools and methods used during the design and implementation phases of the work are described in the thesis. Finally, measurements proved improvement of the motion smoothness and response times in several orders of magnitude in comparison to the previous system.
