Location, in which is the object situated, is undergoing an extensive/large modernisation. Almost all historic buildings of this industrial complex are being replaced with high-rise administration blocks which deviate from historical context of the area. One of those exceptions, is also the object of this thesis. It is a former heating building that supplied energy to a mentioned complex. The attempt of the design was maximal purification from contemporary and purely functional interventions in order to support the historical footprint which is a fundamental factor for revitalization of the remaining parts of the area. The building is, in its own way, a manifestation of its surroundings. The object was cleansed to its visible structure made of bricks and wooden beam ceilings. This is refering to a time when these materials were understood as an essential costruction of every building, until they were replaced with structures from reinforced concrete and transparent facades with purely functional approach, which is visible in this new vision of Vlněna complex. Considering the administration aspect of the rest of the area, the building with its functional usage is trying to stimulate life and by that add space for social facilities. The object poetically named “the centre of regeneration“ includes many ways of relaxation which is an integral element to a monotone activities of administration buildings. The lower parts of the building contain a social function in the form of mini-brewery with beer hall/cellar, and restaurant in second floor. The other floors then offer regeneration, mental and physical, from massages to yoga practice. The result of this thesis is a revitalizational boost of the area. The object, in its function and form, is an opposite of new modern part of the complex. However, the object should not be unders

Křenková, Anna ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Petříček, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to produce project documentation for building permission and part of the detail building documentation. The project was based on an architectural study made during the course AG34 Architectural Design Studio in 2015. The topic of the study was reconstruction and finding a new function for a building of the former seat of the district court of Zlín. The building is situated in an attractive location in the centre of Zlín, at the edge of park Sad svobody, near the Zlín palace and on the walking path between the main city square and the main bus station. The former court building is currently the city’s property and is in a decrepit state, conserved without any function. During it’s life, it has undergone several structural adjustments and has got several extensions. It is not protected by law for it’s historical significance, however, there are baroque vaults on the ground floor from the time the building served as a brewery, characteristic facade with lesenes and divided windows. The new main function of the building is connected to its original purpose, there is designed a new restaurant with a minibrewery, beer spa, short term accommodation of two categories – hotel garni and hostel, and a small shop with spa cosmetics. The aim of the new function was to make use of the building location lucratively considering the resources needed for reconstruction, to emphasise its interesting historical points and bring new life in the vicinity of the building. The newly designed extensions and adjustment of the former ones are meant to functionally and aesthetically complement the current building in an appropriate way.
