Brno Skyscraper
Brabcová, Eliška ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The basic idea of the design of the building itself is to create an architecturally high-quality vertical environment that will respond to the needs of the given place, e.g. in the area of offering new job opportunities, housing, services, public space, recreation, and all this in a minimal built-up area and in harmony with the immediate surroundings. Due to its shape and appearance, the building with 37 floors will be a dominant height and a focal point of the city of Brno, but it will not disturb the dominant position of Petrov and Špilberk. It is a building whose shape and layout are inspired by the classic concept of skyscrapers, but adapted to the social and economic needs of the 21st century with inserted elements of modern architecture such as a suspended facade and the use of modern building materials. The mass of the high-rise building has the shape of a cuboid and is visually divided into 4 parts by a different design of the facade. Not only analyzing the needs of the surroundings, but also the height potential influenced the choice of the building's content. It is a high-rise multi-functional building with 4 underground parking floors. Part of the proposed solution is the creation of a high-quality public space on the ground floor of the building, and its connection with the promenade along the Svratka River. On the ground floor of the building, commercial premises for rent, an entrance hall and a cafe area are proposed. These spaces are accessible to the public and form a public space that stretches from the main station. On the 1st floor - 4th floor are designed spaces for conferences, meeting rooms, anterooms and spaces for commerce. The main function of the skyscraper is the administration with conference rooms, located in the lower part from the 6th to the 23th floor. The green floor in the central part of the skyscraper 25th floor and 26th floor forms a dividing line between administration and housing. It is a so-called "green oasis" that reflects life and mature greenery on the waterfront, while also completing a public space full of greenery within one building, where people have the opportunity to meet. In the upper part of the building 27th floor - 36th floor, with views of Brno, one-story and maisonette apartments are designed. These apartments reflect the need for quality housing. They are designed in different sizes from 1+ kk to 5+ kk with sufficiently spacious layouts. The individual floor operations are separated by technical floors. In the crown itself, with the most beautiful view of the whole city, there is a sky bar, which is open to the public.
