Stimulating social relationships among preschool children through drama education

In my bachelor's thesis I will focus on the topic of social relations between preschool children in the context of drama education. Specifically, I will be examining the peer circle for the play of a few selected children. I am interested in whether the inclusion of a few drama lessons with social themes in preschool, will have an impact on the children and their peer circle. Whether the circle will expand, children will interact more with each other or whether the foundations for friendships will be established through drama education. The theoretical part focuses on the psychological development of the preschool child, specifically in the area of early relationships, both peer relationships for play and the establishment of first friendships. Furthermore, this part focuses on an introduction to drama education and introduces some of its techniques and methods. In the practical part, five drama lessons with social themes are introduced, implemented and reflected upon in a kindergarten class. Before the lessons, a research method of interview is used, where the respondents are children who are asked about their relationships with other children. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the possibilities of drama education in preschool education with a focus on literary text and theatrical performance. In the theoretical part, the work focuses on theatre, theatre for children and theatre performed by children in a historical and contemporary context and highlights some methods of drama education suitable for working with literary text in kindergarten. In the practical part, the benefits for pre-school children are presented, described and evaluated on the basis of three theatre performances watched, and then work with dramatizing techniques is tested with children in kindergarten. In the discussion, the use of theatre and drama education methods based on theatre methods are compared.
Utilizing a positive social climate in the classroom through drama education

The bachelor thesis Creating a positive social climate in the classroom through drama education finds out how drama education can be used to create a favorable environment in the kindergarten classroom. The theoretical part deals with the social climate of the classroom, its factors important for creating a favorable kindergarten environment, also refers to the characteristics of drama education, its function in preschool education (especially in developing children's personal and social skills) and its need for teachers. The practical part of the work pays attention to the possibilities of working with these activities in kindergarten. A project was developed and implemented, which included prepared dramatic activities that encourage children's creativity, imagination, empathy, teamwork, mutual respect, friendly classroom atmosphere, etc. The research was based on qualitative research, specifically on the methods of the participant. observations, video recordings, interviews as feedback to the implemented project and own knowledge and notes. The research sample was children and a kindergarten teacher. Based on the project, it was found that drama education is very beneficial for the social climate of the classroom.
The story as a means of developing social skills and prosocial behavior in preschool children.

This bachelor thesis isfocused on the story characteristics and itspractical use with preschool children. The aimis to use the story as a means to develop the child's personality in the field of social skills and prosocial behavior. Furthermore, to create an educational program that iscreate dosing methods of drama education suitable for preschool-age by the Framework educational program for preschool education (RVP PV). The theoretical part briefly describes the history and culent course of drama education in kindergartens, as well as social learning, usage of a book and a story. The practical part contains the developed educational unit, its implementation, and feedback verified in practice. It avers dramatization, the child's speechskills, creativity, social learning, and the prosocial behavior that accompanies and motivates the story as a major factor. Methods of interview, observation, self-reflection, and feedback from the teacher after the output are used to evaluace individual lessons. The methodological material is supplemented by the know led get hat resulted from the implementation. A questionnaire surfy was also used to find out whether kindergarten teachers use the story to develop children's social skills in other regional or district kindergartens.
Possibilities and Limits of using Drama Education in Chemistry Teaching on the Example of Thematic Unit Chemical Reactions

Diploma thesis deals with the possibility of implementation of methods of drama education into chemistry teaching, specifically into the teaching of thematic unit Chemical reactions. Involvement of dramatic methods into the teaching should help pupils understand otherwise relatively abstract curriculum related to chemical reactions better. Moreover, this connection has a potential to improve pupil's attitude towards school subject chemistry. The theoretical part first deals with the problematics connected to drama education, then with historical development and current form of chemistry teaching. Bigger attention is then paid to thematic unit Chemical reactions. The form of this thematic unit in Framework Educational Programmes for Secondary Education (RVP ZV and RVP G) and also its representation in textbooks for primary and grammar schools is presented. In the end of theoretical part, research of already created activities connecting methods of drama education with chemistry teaching is presented. This Diploma Thesis discusses the topic of theatrical education, its application and possibilities in the field of First Stage Elementary school education. The topic has been chosen due to a single theory, that the theatrical education is only seldom used in the educational process. It is under consideration, whether and to what extent teachers use the theatrical education during tuition. The paper is dividied into two main parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is based on various scientific papers and resources. It points its interest on theatrical education, its methodology and application during tuition. In the practical part, the main focus is the research of usage rate of theatrical education during tuition on the First Stage of the Elementary school. It investigates methods used most druing the tuition, as well as in what kind of school subjects the theatrical education is used. For data collection, I chose the method of a standardized questionnaire. Questioning, I found out which method of drama education teachers at the 1st stage of primary school use and in which subjects the drama education is included. Selected Topics From the Educational Theme a Human and his World; explored employing the Methods and Techniques of Drama in Education

1 Abstract: This thesis is entitled "Selected topics from the educational theme A human and his world; explored employing the methods and techniques of Drama In Education." The first section explores the theory. It not only deals with Drama In Education; its content, principles, form, methods, and planning; but also what a teacher of drama should be; the characteristics of children in the early years of education; the assessment of drama; and of course the theme - A human and his world. The practical section describes the elements of a range of methods and contains individual lesson script. Each lesson is underpinned by a particular method. This section goes on to deal with assigned goals; their verification in practice; and finally, conclusions drawn from the implementation of the planned lessons. In designed lessons I used selected methods and techniques of structured drama and preparatoried games and exercises. I found out that very different topics from this educational theme A Human and his world can be worked up by methods and techniques of drama education because I suggested different topics from this educational theme and I verified them in practice.
Drama Education and its use in School Educational Programs at Primary Schools in Šluknov region

The aim of my diploma thesis is to find out how drama education at primary schools in the Šluknov Hook is reflected. In particular, I focus on how drama education is included in school curricula, whether the methods and principles of drama education are used in compulsory subjects for the development of key competencies, and how drama education is applied in the fulfilment of interdisciplinary relationships and cross-cutting themes. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The aim of the theoretical part of the work is to acquaint the reader with the development of the educational curriculum in the Czech Republic, basic terms, and principles of drama education. The empirical part of the work presents the results of the research. The research was carried out in the preparation phase of this work. The aim of the research was to map how the principles of drama education are reflected at the primary schools in the Šluknov Hook. The appendices include a proposal for a drama education lesson for an elementary teaching class. The aim was to show that it is possible to implement elements of drama education into the teaching of compulsory subjects.
