Involvement of students in sport volunteerism

Title: Involvement of students in sport volunteerism Objectives of: Determine differences in the participation of students in sport volunteerism in Czech Republic, Germany and America. Based on a different outlook on volunteering in each of these countries propose recommendations for increasing the involvement of students in volunteerism. Methods: One of the methods used in this study was surveying groups of students in the three countries. Each survey consisted of a written questionnaire, which allowed students to evaluate their participation in sport volunteerism. Another method used was observation, which consisted of studying the organization level of volunteers in three different sporting events. Results: The results of investigation was finding that volunteering in the Czech Republic is still less popular than volunteering in Germany and America. Thus, Czech students are less involved in volunteer activities. Yet, volunteering in sport is a very popular area, especially for students who are studying within a sports field. Organization of voluteers at the RunTour running series

Title: Organization of voluteers at the RunTour running series Objectives: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to evaluace the satisfaction of volunteers and organizers with the volunteer program on the running series RunTour and to suggest possible recommendations for its improvement. Methods: As part of the qualitative survey, the method of in-depth interviews was used, which took place with the coordinator of the volunteer program and with the heads of selected sections. Furthermore, a quantitative method of electronic interrogation was applied. The research was complemented by observations made by the author of the thesis, who personally participated in all races. Results: The research shows that most volunteers and organizers evaluate the volunteer program very positively. However, research has identified several areas where there is room for improvement. Reflexive style of volunteering at organization focused on integration of foreigners

This diploma thesis deals with the study of the world of reflexive volunteers and their retention in a selected non-profit organization. The theoretical part provides an overview of the motivations for volunteering and the current functioning of volunteering in the Czech Republic and the European Union; it also focuses on transforming the way volunteers are involved from the perspective of modernization and describes in detail the process of volunteer management. The empirical part consists of interviews with ten volunteers in a selected organization in order to understand its motivations, length and intensity of work, relationships with other volunteers and employees. Finally, practical recommendations for the volunteer coordinator are presented regarding selected aspects of volunteer management, with special emphasis on the retention of volunteers. Volunteer Management in Hospices

TITLE: Volunteer Management in Hospices AUTHOR: Bc. Zdeňka Sobotová KEY WORDS: hospice, palliative care, volunteering, volunteer management, Volunteer Service Manager This thesis deals with the management of the volunteer program in hospice, mainly from the perspective of the Volunteer Service Managers (VSMs). In the empirical part it brings description of the problems and issues VSMs are facing in eight Czech hospices. Among the main findings of the author are that volunteering in hospices deals with little support from management, lack of finance and difficult acceptance by the staff. The time VSMs can devote to volunteers is too little or too vaguely defined, which does not allow them to really develop the volunteer program. In none of the hospices visited volunteer program evaluation does not take place. Mobile hospices are facing concerns about the responsibilities of volunteers and difficulties in communication with families, which in some hospices lead to the fact that the volunteers in direct care are not involved. In the theoretical part of this work the author offers answers that bring literature to the problems described by her research. Evaluation of Nonformal Education - Preparation of Volunteers in particular Non-profit Organizations

The central theme of this thesis is the phenomenon of volunteering with an accent to preparation of volunteers in two non-profit organizations, namely INEX- SDA and YMCA in Czech republic. The structure of the thesis is divided into two parts. First part follows the basic terms and aims to put the phenomenon of volunteering to the wider context of civic society. Second part is concentrated on empirical research which use mixed research strategy with an accent to the qualitative analyse. The aim of this research is to bring knowledge about educational program of volunteers` preparing to the voluntary activities and about evaluation of this program in named non-profit organizations.
