Legal awareness of children visiting low-threshold facilities for children and youth
BEDNÁŘOVÁ, Anna
This bachelor thesis focuses on the legal awareness of children attending low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The theoretical part deals with the history of the child's position in society, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other key documents related to the rights of the child, and also focuses on techniques and methods of social work in low threshold facilities for children and youth. The thesis also deals with the work of social workers in these facilities and their implementation of children's rights. The aim of the research was to find out the legal awareness of children attending low- threshold facilities for children and youth and what role the social worker has in building it. The method used was a combined type of research. The quantitative part of the research involved 94 respondents who answered questions in a questionnaire developed by prof. Gary Melton using a guided interview. The qualitative part involved 5 workers who, through a semi-structured interview, provided a deeper understanding of how social workers contribute to building legal awareness. The research found that age does not have as significant an impact on children's attitudes to the granting of rights as might be expected. There was a difference in the attribution of rights between girls and boys in certain situations. Social workers build legal awareness through direct work with clients. The results of this work can provide important information for further development and effective work in the protection and fulfilment of children's rights.

Influence of selected preventive programs in NZDM
REMEŠOVÁ, Lenka
The diploma thesis focuses on the benefits of preventive programmes implemented in the social service of the CROSS Prevent Low-Threshold Facility for Children and Youth. This is reached via theoretical knowledge acquired from literature research and survey results. The survey studies seven informants qualitatively using three methods of investigation. Each of these methods answers one research question. Specifically, there is one case study, a semi-structured interview and a document analysis. Regarding the fact that prevention programmes in Low-Threshold Facilities for Children and Youth are in no way methodically defined, I will describe the implementation itself. The diploma thesis is supplemented by results that had been gathered while the survey was being carried out.

Specifics of social service NZDM in children under 15 years.
BÍLÝ, Tomáš
The aim of my thesis was to define and describe the particularities and interdisciplinary connections of the social service of low-threshold facilities for children and youth (hereinafter NZDM) as well as evaluate their significance when working with children and youth at the low-threshold level. NZDM is a rather new social service operating in social prevention area. Since being incorporated into the social services´ system in compliance with Act No.108/2006 Coll. which has clearly specified the character and activities of NZDM service, it has been facing misunderstanding and questioning of its role and content both from the professionals and lay people. This regards namely the pedagogical aspect of the service as such, there has been an effort to reduce it, which hinders the NZDM workers´ activity and brings existential and financial insecurity. In contrast to other social services, NZDM service must therefore defend its position in the social services´ system and argue for its substance and sense. This paper also aims at this line of reasoning. The thesis is divided into four chapters where essential characteristics of the service are first presented as well as its roots and important milestones in its development including the insight into the multi-layered quality and particularities of NZDM. The second chapter covers the area of developmental psychology, or more precisely the target group of NZDM in the context of chosen developmental characteristics. The third chapter presents interdisciplinary connections in pedagogy, thus giving evidence of the significance of upbringing and education in NZDM. In the closing part of the paper, there is an attempt of the author to reflect the rigours and paradoxes in this environment, to defend the role of free-time activities and to draw attention to the risks related to narrowed and reduced approach to NZDM service.

JAROŠOVÁ, Martina
The presented thesis focuses on the ethical aspects of social work with at-risk youth, from the perspective of utilitarian and deontological ethics. The reader gets acquainted with the connection of ethics in social work, with the risky behavior of young people and with the theoretical interpretation of ethical systems. Qualitative research is chosen in the work - a method of interview with several social workers who work with at-risk youth. Based on the results, the thesis analyses the applicability of ethical theories in practice with regard to the specifics of clients, their degree of usability, or what other ethical theories correspond in practice with the actions of a social worker.
