Traditional and nontraditional farm animals and their importance to human life
Procházka, Jiří ; Hanel, Lubomír (advisor) ; Řezníček, Jan (referee)
The Abstract The main purpose of my thesis is to make summary of conventional and unconventional livestock and their importace to man. My thesis brings in survey of the most significant kinds of breeds and their economic exploitation. A separate section is devoted to Czech breeding of essential kinds of livestock in reference to their conditions and animal production capacity. Out of unconventional groups of livestock, the attention is devoted to birds from out superorder runners. The importace of meat in man's nutrition is widely discussed. As a part of thesis, a public inquiry was compiled and analysed. It was interpreted on samples of students and workers of educational institutions. The inquiry discovers the influence of respondents'demografic field and other circumstances upon meat consummation. As a suplement to the biology education at primary and secondary schools, a CD- ROM is made containing questions to systematic zoology of birds from among superorder runners. Key words: domestication, livestock, runners, meat, inquiry
The effects of water supplies cut to selected animal husbandry
TOMAN, Antonín
Water as a vital fluid is important not only for the man himself, but also for the creatures in his company. Hence the thesis aims to convey complex information about the problems of water supply for livestock and to assess the possible impacts of failure of water supplies on selected livestock sector. Given to the aim of the thesis the question, what impact would have any long-term loss of water to the livestock sector, has risen. Problems of water supply failures are dealt with in connection with the population, but the requirements of livestock are not remembered in this direction. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the infrastructure and critical infrastructure. In the next section of the theoretical part is comprehensively discussed water as an essential natural element and its importance to the natural environment. In this part are also mentioned legislative documents attaching to water management. The third section of the theoretical part is dedicated to breeds of livestock and agricultural issues in general. The most commonly bred and economically most frequently used animals include cattle, pigs and poultry. The last subchapter of the theoretical part consists of discussion of certain legislative documents that provide the legal regulation of farming and animal protection in the Czech legal system. The research is based on a mapping of the current situation in selected livestock breeding - these are cattle, poultry and pigs, due to their economic importance we can expect complications in connection with the failure of the water supply. For the needs of the research was used qualitative research strategy. To obtain the data were used semi-structured interviews with responsible staff or owners of the surveyed companies. The obtained data from the respondents were subsequently analysed using logical analysis. Based on the results of logical analysis and information obtained from interviews was built SWOT analysis, which filed a broader look at the issue of water supply to farms. The interviews revealed that the condition of the water supply at surveyed companies varies. Examined companies are supplied with water according to the local conditions and opportunities that varies on location considerably. Breeds are mainly supplied with water from private sources, the sample minority is supplied from public sources. It was also found that most water sources for breeding is absolutely dependent on electricity supply, completely autonomous was only one examined breed. Supplied water to two-thirds of surveyed farms must be chemically treated. Replacement of water supply in the event of main power failure has secured five of the six companies surveyed. Given the significant reliability of the primary sources of water was not easy to map the course of an extended power outage water on animal behaviour. Most respondents agreed, however, that the consequences of long-term loss of water would have been fatal. For the majority of surveyed farms seasons don't have influence on the course and consequences of failure of the water supply. Certain seasonal effect was recorded in the case of breeding cattle. Long-term water outage would be solved according to the results depending on the respective local conditions where companies would seek to rely on their own resources and consequently on the assistance of organizations with whom they have good relations. Individual companies perceive the danger of failure of water supply differently, depending on the trust in the water supply from otherwise reliable primary source. Examined companies are preparing for the loss of water supplies according to their momentary conditions and abilities, even if they are not strictly mandated by legislation. This can be considered a positive finding that despite the absence of legislative obligations and appropriate methodologies companies create conditions in case of failure of water supply.
Hlučnost v chovu skotu po rekonstrukci stáje na vybrané farmě
KADLEC, Ondřej
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the issues of the current trends in livestock breeding, focusing mainly on buildings, engineering, and the technology used in livestock breeding. The theoretical part also deals with the issue of welfare in livestock breeding and the solutions to this problem. The last topic discussed in the theoretical part of the thesis is noise and its sources in livestock breeding. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the description of the observed stable building and its surroundings and the measurement of the noise levels LpA during work, considering both the livestock and the staff. The calculated equivalent noise levels are used to evaluate the noise levels in the work premises and the noise pressure on the animals.
Options effective use of private insurance for chosen agricultural company
Daněk, Jan ; Šlajs, Jan (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
This aim of this thesis is to tackle the effective use of risk management within private insurance for a selected agricultural company. The paper suggests that it is fundamental to identify such a risk and subsequently define it. Consequently, the identified risk is analysed along with the concept of insurance, which is also essential for work. After an analysis of agricultural insurance in the Czech Republic, the paper further compares the variety of insurance available as offered by local insurance companies. The state's point of view is scrutinized in relation to the variety of insurance offered, as the state provides the Support and Guarantee Fund and Agricultural and Forestry Fund, Inc., which provides subsidies to the farmers. Subsequently, the paper demonstrates the importance of the insurance broker, who acts as a mediator between the insurance company and the farmer. In conclusion, the paper will contemplate to illustrate a real-life example in an agrarian society.
Selected agricultural accounting issues and their reflection in practice and proposals for solutions
ŠTEFANOVÁ, Veronika
Specifics agricultural activities are transferred to the accountancy of the stated entity. Bookkeeping becomes an ambitious agenda that requires much more attention than in other fields. The biological character of production also entails a number of questions and issues that are not adequately regulated in the financial legislation of the Czech Republic. The aim of this dissertation was processing problems existing unfavorable situation in the agricultural accounting legislation and the subsequently proposed solutions in order to improve a true and fair view of the accounts. Most problems are discussed in the livestock sector . The first part was shown in animal production according to the applicable accounting legislation . Further changes were summarized in the financial legislation and problem areas that would deserve legislative clarification. Adherence to the true and fair view of the agricultural accountancy was evaluated in cooperation with the holding AGRA Deštná a.s.
Measurement and evaluation of exhaust gas production in selected pig operation and design to reduce them.
PRAŽÁK, Jakub
Limitation of emission ammonia and greenhouse gases is a main assumption in the present time for modification the relation between agriculture and environment. The agriculture influences significantly environment only from point of view of landscape creation but mainly in the three fields, i.e. air, water and soil. Agricultureactivity effects considerably all the three fields and particularly intensive breeding of livestock by it?s by ? products i.e. organic remainders and gaseous emissions also have negative impact onto environment. Agriculture produces up to 90 % of worldwide ammonia products. In European measure the amount of ammonia leakage has to be reduced. One of the perspective technologies is exploitation biotechnological products to moderate exhalation of ammonia and greenhouse gases in surrounding stable, on dump and at the application farmyard manure and slurry.
Transport of livestock
VELKOVÁ, Jana
After 1990, and especially after the entry of our country to the European Community requirements of the transport underwent significant changes. Transportation means the movement of animals effected by one or more means of transport and related activities, including loading, unloading, transferring and rest until unloading of animal is done at the place of destination. The aim of the thesis was preparation of literature review about animal transport and evaluation of the protection of animals during loading, transport and unloading ensuring legislation of the Czech Republic and the European Union. It also points to the types of vehicles, the amount and kinds of farm animals in the Czech Republic which are most frequently transported the proper handling of animals during loading, unloading and transportation and last but not least, deals with the consequences for non-compliance during transport (causes and types of injuries), legal sanctions for violations of the law during animal transport. The thesis deals with the transportation of livestock in the Slovak Republic and England, using available literature sources. At the end of the thesis, the content of livestock transport course is described, course is mandatory for animal transporters.
The impact of production processes on emission of CO2 in livestock raising
MAKRLÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
This theses fokus on the enviromental impact of livestock raising cycle (cattle, pigs and poultry). Energetical costs and emissions caused by livestock fattening are counted including processing and transport of the final product ? meat. Conventional and organic farming were compared as well as different forms of housing. SIMA Pro software tool was used for obtaining the emission load. The aim of the work was to find which form of livestock raising has the least environmental impact. This work was created in the European Union internatiponal project M00080-EUS-AT-SUKI Sustainable Kitchen focusing on the emission load of substantial links of vertical production chain.
Simplex algorithm in projecting the production
GUROVIČOVÁ, Eva
The aim of this thesis was to apply the simplex algorithm in designing the production. Simplex algorithm was used in the case study, which focused on the farm with crop and livestock production. Production is made up of grown crops and livestock. Maximization objective function was formed to gain (or loss) on commodity production. The intention was to break down plant and animal production in order to get the most efficient way to use the area sown, which allowed me a case study.
