Results: Conducting literary research has proved that speed sports performance might be greatly affected by the selected method of warming up. Most of the mentioned authors state the positive influence of dynamic stretching and they also recommend eliminating static stretching before speed sports performance. Measuring the speed of running locomotion has proved that the probands did not show any...
Functions of secondary metabolites of lichens
Zvěřinová, Gabriela ; Svoboda, David (advisor) ; Bouda, František (referee)
This bachelor thesis is a review of available literature about lichen secondary metabolites and their functions. Lichens produce a great variety of these compounds; most of them are unique to the lichen symbiosis and are not found in higher plants. Besides the role of these compounds in chemotaxonomy and systematics, lichen secondary metabolites exhibit various biological functions and can affect biotic and abiotic interactions of lichens with their environment. Well-known and often described functions of lichen substances include especially antimicrobial, antiherbivory and antioxidant activity, allelopathy, metal homeostasis and photoprotection. This thesis is focused on these functions and summarizes current knowledge in this area. Key words: lichen, secondary metabolites, allelopathy, antimicrobial activity, herbivory, antioxidant activity, photoprotection, metal homeostasis, pollution tolerance, literary review

Within this search, 118 sources were studied, of which 21 Czech and 97 foreign literature. The final thesis showed that the ACL injury is the most common as well as the most complicated injury of the knee joint in football. This type of injury usually occurs on non-contact plays. The most significant limitations are age, anatomical and biomechanical properties, types of playing activities, previous ACL injuries or sex. Studies show that women have higher risk of ACL injuries. In terms of...
Treatment for Brain Arteriovenous Malformations
Bradáč, Ondřej ; Beneš, Vladimír (advisor) ; Haninec, Pavel (referee) ; Vaverka, Miroslav (referee)
Introduction: The surgical and endovascular results of the treatment of pial AVM provided at our Neurosurgical centre are presented. These results are supported by neuropsychological outcomes of subgroup of treated patients. Going by these results and by an overview of literary data on the efficacy and complications of each therapeutic modality, the optimal algorithm of indications is presented Cohort of patients: The main series comprises 222 patients aged 9 to 87 years treated in the years 1998 - 2013. The surgical group consists of 85 patients, 55 patients received solely endovascular treatment. Thirty-four patients were consulted and referred directly to the Radiosurgical unit. The remaining 48 were recommended to abide by the strategy of "watch and wait". A subgroup of 66 patients, who underwent treatment of AVM was neuro-psychologically tested at least two years after treatment using a battery of tests constructed specifically for this study. A control group consisted of 10 subjects without any neurological disease. Results: In the surgical group, serious complications were 3.5% at a 96.5% therapeutic efficacy. As for AVM treated with purely endovascular methods, serious procedural complications were seen in 5.5% of patients, with efficacy totalling 36.4%. One observed patient suffered...

Critique of current consumer society
Jelínková, Klára ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Zezulková, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor thesis is aimed to provide a characteristic of current consumer society. First part is dedicated to its definitions and evolution. The thesis is based on three-phased classification according to Lipovetsky, there is a discussion between his concept and other authors who were selected by the method of literary research. The selected authors agree that the consumer society entered the current phase in the period of the 1970s and 1980s. As a result of globalization and the associated socio-economic changes, one of its most distinctive features is strong individualism. Conspicious consumption, such as the consolidation of the status position, is receding in the background, today's consumers express their own identity through the consumption. Consumption has grown into culture, it became a lifestyle. Consumers are producers of this culture. The paper also discusses the negative consequences of excessive consumption. The last part is devoted to the issue of Critical Marketing Studies, which tries to critically approach marketing activities and also develops awareness of non-commercial marketing activities.
Lichenometry as a method and its relevance
Pelant, Filip ; Svoboda, David (advisor) ; Halda, Josef (referee)
Lichenometry is a constantly developing method (or set of methods) of relative and absolute dating of geological and anthropogenic formations, based on analysis of crustose lichens. It operates with an assumption that the larger the thallus is, the older the lichen is. But the relation between size and age (known as "growth rate") is far from being linear, and lichenometry has long attempted to find a way of describing this relation properly and universally. For this purpose, lichenometry uses direct and indirect methods - by repeated measurements of the same lichen individuals over time, or by comparison to individuals growing on substrates of known age (e.g. by using radiocarbon method). There is an ongoing controversy about aging and age calibration since the inception of the lichenometry field, but especially in this century. Strong criticism has been expressed about lichenometry, questioning the very principles of the method and consequently undermining all the results of lichenometry so far. The goal of the present bachelor thesis is to present the method with its approaches and to address the criticism. At the same time I aim to highlight recent trends in the field that seek to improve the methods toward more reliable lichenometric dating, and to encourage the use of the methods as so...
