Bakalářská práce je literární rešerší problematiky sekundárních metabolitů lišejníků a jejich funkcí. Lišejníky produkují těchto látek velmi širokou škálu, přičemž většina z nich je specifická pouze pro lišejníky a u vyšších rostlin je nenacházíme. Kromě role těchto sloučenin v chemotaxonomii a systematice mají sekundární metabolity rozličné biologické funkce ve stélce lišejníků a mohou tak ovlivňovat jejich biotické i abiotické interakce s okolním prostředím. Mezi známé a často popisované funkce sekundárních metabolitů patří zejména antimikrobiální, alelopatické, antiherbivorní a antioxidační účinky, udržování homeostázy kovů a ochrana před zářením. Práce je zaměřena právě na tyto funkce a shrnuje současné poznatky v této oblasti. Klíčová slova: lišejník, sekundární metabolity, alelopatie, antimikrobiální aktivita, herbivorie, antioxidační aktivita, fotoprotekce, homeostáza kovů, tolerance znečištění, literární rešerše This bachelor thesis is a review of available literature about lichen secondary metabolites and their functions. Lichens produce a great variety of these compounds; most of them are unique to the lichen symbiosis and are not found in higher plants. Besides the role of these compounds in chemotaxonomy and systematics, lichen secondary metabolites exhibit various biological functions and can affect biotic and abiotic interactions of lichens with their environment. Well-known and often described functions of lichen substances include especially antimicrobial, antiherbivory and antioxidant activity, allelopathy, metal homeostasis and photoprotection. This thesis is focused on these functions and summarizes current knowledge in this area.
