Semantic Relatedness of Scientific Articles
Dresto, Erik ; Schmidt, Marek (referee) ; Otrusina, Lubomír (advisor)
The main goal of the thesis is to explore basic methods which can be used to find semantically related scientific articles. All the methods are explained in detail, compared and in the end evaluated by the standard metrics. Based on the evaluation, a new method for computing semantic similarity of scientific articles is proposed. The proposed method is based on the current state-of-the-art methods and adds the another important factor for computing similarity - citations. Using citations is important, since they represent a static bond between the articles. Finally, the proposed method is evaluated on the real data and compared with other described methods.

The main part of the thesis is devoted to legislation and case law in the US. However, for the comparative purposes, I also address developments concerning keyword advertising in the EU. I chose this topic because it combines traditional elements of law with modern technologies. Moreover, despite its significant economic and legal impacts, I consider this topic as insufficiently researched in the Czech Republic. This thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter is devoted to a general introduction to trademarks, including the history of trademarks, current legal definitions of trademarks as well as legal frameworks of trademarks law. This chapter also focuses on an element of trademark distinctiveness and analyses functions of trademarks. Last but not least, it also describes basic classifications of trademarks and provides their examples. The second chapter introduces the issue of keyword advertising. Concept NADĚJE ('hope') in Václav Havel's Work
Stará, Michaela ; Vaňková, Irena (advisor) ; Holý, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the concept of hope in selected texts of Václav Havel using theoretical methodological principles of cognitive linguistics and ethnolinguistic. After an introduction to basic themes of cognitive linguistics this thesis explores the linguistic image of hope in Czech language by using dictionary data analysis. Subsequently, the focus shifts to conceptualization of hope in Havel's texts, semantic frameworks where hope features prominently, and to the relationship of hope to related concepts. In the conclusion the concept of hope is put into broader context of Havel's work. Arguments why the term hope can be counted amongst Havel's keywords are duly provided. This thesis is inspired in particular by the work of David S. Danaher and his comparative ethnolinguistic analyses of selected Havel's terms.
