Bachelor´s thesis deals with the elements of intercultural communication, and also is concerned with forms of intercultural competences development. It analyses this kind of managerial competences in concrete company and finally defines the needs of their development. The scheme of the educational course is assembled the way that would satisfy the development needs.
Analysis of German textbook materials for lower - secondary schools from 90s up to now focusing on the development of composing realia

This thesis is concerned with the analysis of sets of German language textbooks intended for the second grade of elementary school dating from the nineties until now from the point of view of the historical development of the mediation of language culture and background. The theoretical part clarifies the terms substantial for the issue in question, it describes the historical development of language culture and background teaching, individual approaches to the mediation of language culture and background and while doing so, it follows the fundamental publications concerning the didactics of language culture and background and also crucial works regarding the analysis of textbook sets. The practical part describes the design of the research, its division to stages, the sample of the textbooks analysed and the establishing of the criteria according to which the textbooks will be analysed. On the basis of thus established criteria, nine textbook sets have been analysed. The method utilised was content and comparative analysis. The fundamental part of this thesis presents the results and the final evaluation. Literary texts and their adaptations in teaching of Czech as a foreign language

The thesis deals with possible applications of literary texts in teaching of czech as a foreign language. The first part summarizes the position of literature within the framework of respective methodical directions both in the past and today and also what status is attributed to literature in teaching of foreign languages by contemporary education legislation (especially the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The work also includes an analysis of czech language textbooks for foreigners and of other publications based on the inclusion frequency of literary excerpts, on their type and potential didactic utilization. The theoretical part of the thesis contains chapters, which deal with the significance of literature in the teaching of foreign languages, in particular with literary texts and the definition of reader's competence, which are an important basis for the practical part of the work. The practical part contains four lesson proposals built upon working with specific literary texts (one prosaic and three poetic texts). In my diploma thesis I deal with intercultural competencies, which are a relatively new phenomenon. It started to evolve on the grounds of the influence of globalization and internacionalization. I have made an overview of the changing life of organizations, especially in the area of Human Resource Management, which grows into international extent. I have considered the reasons leading to the growth of the (significant) needs of interculturally educated employees. Recent development of social, political and economical reality indicate the fact, that this need will be more and more urgent in the future. Because of the reducing importance of borders between nations and among economics the contact among members of different cultures in personal and work life is still more frequent and intensive. In the order to be efficient in cooperation with individuals from different cultural environment it is necessary to understand each other, capture the way of partner's thinking and behavior, forbearance and knowledge of cultural specifics. Training focused on development of intercultural competencies is thus an inevitable requirement of employee's preparation to long-term residence abroad and its completion is the precondition of smooth course of adaptation in a foreign country. Sociocultural disability of foreign pupils and professional qualification of teachers The aim of the dissertation thesis is to analyze the vocational qualification of teachers in relation to socio-cultural disability of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue). The theoretical part presents current knowledge regarding the issues of education of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue) in Czech and foreign background. It defines basic approaches to socio-cultural disabilities and content framework of vocational qualification in relation to foreigner's pupils. The theoretical part is based mainly on the latest intercultural education, special education and other educational disciplines. Another source of information is an empirical study which determines what should be the content of training teachers to effectively teach foreigner's pupil (the pupil with a different mother tongue). The empirical part presents the results of research focused on the training of teachers in relation to foreigner's pupils. Cultural intelligence and its concept in foreign language teaching

The aim of the paper Cultural Intelligence and its concept in foreign language teaching is to introduce theoretical concept of Cultural intelligence created by Earley and Ang in 2003 and to place it in the context of foreign language teaching. The paper presents a review of research on cultural intelligence and foreign language teaching conducted in the last three years, which can be obtained from the electronic resources of the Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Prague. The topic is developed in three main chapters - theoretical background, the concept of cultural intelligence and the concept of cultural intelligence in foreign language teaching. This paper serve mainly as an introduction to the issue and inspiration for further research in the field of cultural intelligence and foreign language teaching.
