Education of employees in the multicultural organization

Résumé This thesis focuses on the education of employees in international corporations. Its aim is to introduce this problem in a broader context, especially that of international business. Firstly, in this work an international corporation is understood as an organisation, firm or company in which individuals of many different cultural backgrounds meet and interact. Therefore, the thesis also occupies itself with subcategorie of cultural theories, the characterization of an international corporation as such and, moreover, international personal management with an emphasis on managing expatriates. However, the most attention is paid to certain educational specifics of international corporations. The processes of adaptation and reintegration are described in detail as are the problems of intercultural learning and intercultural training. To conclude, this thesis attempts to summarize theoretical bases and to bring forth new ideas on the basis of study available Czech and foreign literature in the context of the given issue.

Intercultural communication in international relations: Models of intercultural learning and proposition of the research of their effects

With the expanding globalization importance of intercultural communication is increasing. The task of intercultural learning is improvement of this communication. Participation on exchange programs abroad is also one form of intercultural learning. These sojourns are considered very beneficial, but their effects are rarely measured. Main aim of this thesis is to propose a research, which could find out to which extent are exchange programs successful in fulfilling their goals, especially in area of transition from ethnocentric stages to ethnorelative stages.
Tourism as an instrument of intercultural learning

The final thesis clarifies impacts of tourism on the tourist's personality in the field of intercultural learning and compares programmes of the European Union, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and companies dealing with intercultural learning through student exchanges. It also focuses on the importance of intercultural learning for professionals in tourism industry. In the introduction author defines basic terms related to this issue, further she treats of motivations to travel and then adverts on the impact of long-term travelling on the tourist's personality, so that she explains the iceberg concept of culture, culture shock and intercultural sensitivity. In the following part she compares the programmes of different institutions. The final part of the thesis appoints the importance of intercultural learning for all who work in the tourism industry on the example of French and Japanese.
