Qualitative research of the influence of prejudices and stereotypes on the social integration of children of pre-school age.

The theme of this work is to determine the influence of prejudices and stereotypes on the socialization of preschool children, especially their inclusion in the group of peers in kindergarten. The theoretical part of the work describes the issue of prejudice and stereotypes in society, their influence and transfer to preschool children. It also discusses the adaptation of the child, socialization, and communication of children at preschool age, their cognitive, emotional and social development. Research part consists of eight case reports of children from minority communities, and children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The conclusion summarizes the results of the research, explains the various causes and consequences of the emergence and influence of prejudices, stereotypes, socialization and integration of children and their psychological and social development.
From Votava to Jiráček. About matters of Czech players in German football

Involvement of foreign players in the German Bundesliga has not only sporting or financial aspect, but also the intercultural one. Especially in german society there are many cultures and national identities and sport plays big role in integration and intercultural communication, which is particularly valid for football as the most popular sport in the country. Over the last forty years there has been a lot of czech footballers in the highest level of german football and they have formed one of the biggest foreign groups there. This bachelor work will chronicle involvement of the most outstanding of them and it will disclose, which imaginations of Czech Republic this players have been transmited in the past and present.
The program of developpement of intercultural competence by preschool children

The primary objective of this thesis was to describe methods applicable for the development of intercultural competence in preschool age children. The theoretical part is focused on clarifying the terms such as learning, learning theory and learning styles. Subsequently, the attention is paid to the terms that are related to level of cognition, social perception and personality of the preschool age child. A description of the intercultural terms like psychology, communication, conflict, education and competence is also included. The basis of the practical part consists of methods applicable for the development of intercultural competence in preschool age children whose main inspiration was indian culture. A range of specific activities that can be used in kindergartens is also included in this part. In the methodology, a notion of qualitative research and observation methods are described and the final part contains a case study of activities developing the preschool age child´s intercultural competence. The thesis is supported by photos that have been taken during introducing the different ? indian culture to the children and that are available both for viewing and downloading on the web.
Entrepreneurship in the context of different national cultures

Each company has its set of values, norms and behavioural patterns that determine the manners of its employees, their relationships within the social structure of the organization, as well as the company?s public relations. The company culture influences the style of work of every employee in the firm and consequently their behaviour in the public. It reveals the way the entrepreneurs want to do their business and often shows how much or in what way they acknowledge social responsibility. Due to globalization, there are many multinational companies in our country. The theoretical part of the thesis thus focuses on the combination of company and national cultures at a workplace; furthermore it contains a summary of some of the main literature on the subject of company culture and intercultural management. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the company culture of a chosen international firm and to propose solutions for some improvements to the current situation in the company.
Contrast Czech-German cultural standards of the German company in the Czech Republic

The work deals with the contrasting Czech-German cultural standards, both generally and specifically, in a German company in the Czech Republic. There are further described the concept of cultural dimensions and cultural standards. The author lists then the most important representatives who deal with these two concepts. Much of the work is devoted to describing specific contrast Czech-German cultural standards from both the Czech and from the German perspective. The work is focused on the contrasts and cultural contacts between Czech and German colleagues in the German company in the Czech Republic. The basis of this finding is a questionnaire survey, through which are confirmed or challenged couples Czech-German cultural standards. The work is also characteristic of the company business.
Printed newspapers and the Internet news and commentaries

The aim of this project is to contribute to the extending of the knowledge of intercultural communication. Since this area is very extensive we will deal only with the problems of intercultural communication in general and we will also cover its application in printed newspapers. One of the other project aims will be a detailed analysis which will show how intercultural communication is being reflected in today?s Czech daily newspapers ( Mladá fronta Dnes, Lidové noviny, Hospodářské noviny, Právo). Comparing with a different type of daily press (e.g. tabloids Blesk and left-oriented Haló noviny) could also be interesting. The language analysis of collected and sorted out material will form the basis of the thesis. The analysis will not comprise only the lexical means but I would also like to draw attention to the metaphorical phrasing (phrasemes) which represents very important part of journalistic style.
P. Coelho and his Alchemist in intercultural communication (A chapter from thematology and reception esthetics)

The topic of the bachelor thesis is Paulo Coelho and his Alchemist in intercultural communication (A chapter from thematology and reception esthetics). The thesis deals with analysis of the novel in the background of intercultural communication. Its part will be a research among the readers from which some conclusions about the novel´s effect on them will be made. The output should be an analysis providing new literary and extra-literary connections which are often ignored in traditional reception.
Czech - German cultural standards

The aim of this thesis is to identify cultural standards typical for German culture in comparison with Czech culture. These cultural standards point out the main differences between Czech and German mentality and are defined by my own experience and personal interviews with Czech and German workers. The thesis includes an introduction into methodology of cultural dimensions and standards and also involves some important facts about German history and economy. The final recommendation is useful for everyone who deals with the German and who wants to make their communication more effective.
Intercultural Communication - Irish and Czech People

This thesis is focused on intercultural communication, especially on communication between Czech and Irish people. For basic theoretical aspects were used historical background of both countries and different theories of intercultural communication. History was always important fact in forming different cultures. Among all theories of intercultural communication were used theories of cultural dimension from Geert Hofstede and theory of cultural differences from Fons Trompenaars. Practical part is made of the research which was divided into two parts: personal and working communication. All results are also shown in graphs. Finally, there are shown possible problematic areas in communication and their solutions.
Cultural Standards of Norway

The goal of this thesis is to identify cultural standards of Norway from the Czech point of view. These standards are defined both on the basis of my own experience with this culture and thanks interviews with those who have stayed in Norway for a longer time. The cultural standards show clearly the essential differences of Norwegian and Czech culture. The thesis also includes advice and recommendations for effective communication with the Norwegians. This thesis could thus serve mainly to everyone who intends to communicate or cooperate with Norwegian business partners. The theoretical part contains the processes of social interaction and intercultural communication and also the concepts of cultural standards and dimensions.
