The working class leaders sight upon the development of the labour movement in Bohemia lands, 1870 - 1890

The actual focus of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the memoirs of labour leaders. Interpretive emphasis is placed on the use of socio-historical, politico historical and culture- anthropological approach of the topic. Therefore, the author focus mainly on the formative experiences of the author's memoirs, i. e. on their experiences with social, cultural, economic and ethnic background and environment, especially the experiences of poverty, humiliation, disqualification of social progress, exploitation by employer, gender and spiritual oppression. Supplementary source is the analysis of newspaper articles in contemporary periodicals. Methodological suggestions will be drawn from literature.
The Image of Jan Hus in the Early Modern Czech Literature

The work The Image of Jan Hus in the Early Modern Czech Literature tries to map different ways of description of this Czech preacher in selected literary texts from 15th to 18th century, to capture the changes which his image underwent. The chosen authors come from different countries and use different languages, represent different environments, social classes and opinion groups, they also have different education and religion. Individual literary works were assessedby means of comparing the key episodes that are either repeated in the texts, or the author intentionally did not use them. To understand the image of Jan Hus as a whole, also contemporary iconography was taken into account , which in some cases has been taken from other literary texts than those which were compared, so that the image of Hus whereas complete as possible. The comparison of the texts and iconography showed, how accurate the observation of the described scheme was and how the image of Jan Hus was gradually changing. The combination of written and iconographic material from specific time intervals allowed us to observe the gradual change of conceptions of the personality of Jan Hus and events connected with him, because the authors represent the opinion of their ethnic group and time. Putin's Historical Narrative: Problems of Russian Post-Soviet Identity and the Role of History during Putin's Presidency 2000-2008

The thesis focuses on a historical narrative promoted by president Putin during his first two terms in office during the years 2000 - 2008. Furthermore it aims to analyse the consequences of Putin's uses of history on the domestic and the international level. First, theoretical aspects of political use of history are drafted since they are essential to understand the role history plays in a nation-building process. Consequently, tools used to promote a certain historical narrative are mentioned. The work describes main problems related to the formation of Russian post-Soviet identity and analyses causes of Yeltsin's failure in this task. Subsequently, Putin's political visions such as a need of strong Russia and restoration of great power status are presented. The work also identifies how Putin's political goals project into his view of history. The main characteristics of Putin's historical narrative are analysed on a basis of secondary literature and Putin's speeches. The thesis focuses separately on Putin's use of symbols of three Russian historical époques - the Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and the Yeltsin era. The First Bulgarian State in Historical Memory of the Byzantine Rule and the Second Bulgarian Tsardom

This thesis deals with the historical memory in the context of Bulgarian medieval history. Its main objective is to evaluate the role played by the historical memory of the first Bulgarian state in the period of Byzantine domination and the Second Bulgarian Empire. In the first part of this work the current view of the Bulgarian historiography on this topic is critically reviewed. A section, which focuses on historical memory during period of the Byzantine rule aims to assess how and in what form could the historical memory of the First Bulgarian state preserve. It tries to describe this memory as a dynamic process. It aims at the causes that led to the gradual disintegration of historical memory after the end of the First Bulgarian State, such as the decay of higher domestic political elites and loss center. It also analyzes the factors that helped to store memory about the state. In the third part of the thesis deals with the way how was the historical memory of the first Bulgarian state treated in the Second Bulgarian Empire. It examines the way in which historical memory has been used to legitimize the very existence of the Second Bulgarian State. Herta Kaspar (1923-1946): The true story of second life in the historical memory of Trest

The main point of this thesis Herta Kaspar (1923-1946) and May uprising in Trest: The true story of second life in the historical memory of Trest. At first, I will focus on the course of events that took place in Trest in May 1945, then I will devote my attention Herta Kaspar - Trest's native, after hers rat has been executed several city residents. The focus of my work in further clarification is Herta's life story and hers destiny, but also the way of constructing the image of this person in memory of the Trest (part of the research will become even interviews with eyewitnesses) and in professional or popular historical literature.
