Vávrová, Miriam ; Klenková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Zemková, Jaroslava (referee)
This Masters thesis focuses on issues of Specific Language Impairment - SLI of children of pre-school age. It monitors and evaluates development of their communication and motor skills during their time in kindergarten. The theoretical part focuses on defining basic terms which relate to communication and communication disorder with the emphasis on SLI. The psychomotor and communicational development of child from birth to entering school is described too. Also how this all affected creating the Framework Educational Programme for preschool education. The aim of the empirical part was to observe four children with SLI during their attendance at a pre-school for children with specific needs. Speech and psychomotor development of these children and its changes in connection to their teachers' intervention was observed. Part of the research included interviews with children's parents and those are also evaluated. The survey was done by the qualitative method. We get four case histories. At the end was evaluated the aims of the survey and answered questions asked and summarized the results of my investigation.
Motor performance of pupils with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Otipková, Zuzana ; Lejčarová, Alena (advisor) ; Musálek, Martin (referee)
Title: Motor performance of pupils with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Objectives: The aim of the work was to determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of the pupils with diagnosis ADHD at schools specialized on these pupils and compare it with the fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of children without this diagnosis at common elementary school. Further work objective was to determine the level of gross motor skills of lower limbs and laterality of paired organs (hand - foot) within above mentioned groups of pupils. Methods: To determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities, gross motor skills of lower limbs, laterality of the upper and lower extremities of the pupils with and without ADHD aged 9-11 years we used these types of tests: "Spiral", "Dotting test", "Beads" (the level of fine motor skills of the upper extremities); "Pack", "Small plate tapping", "Big plate tapping" (the level of gross motor skills of upper extremities); "Tapping the leg" (the level of gross motor skills of the lower limbs); "Typing out the Rhythm" (the laterality of the lower limbs); "Bell" and "Matches" (the laterality of the upper extremities). Results: The fine motor level of dominant hand was in the case of ADHD diagnosed pupils...
Occurrence of sensomotoric disorders in children with hearing impairment
Fiedlerová, Kateřina ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Prokešová, Eva (referee)
Title: Occurrence of coordination disorders in children with hearing impairment Objectives: The aim of this master thesis was to verify the hypothesis that children with hearing impairment have higher incidence of sensorimotor issues byassessing their motor skills, physical fitness and somatognostic functions. A partial goal was to assess the correlation between the methods used. Methods: The examination group consisted of 73 children (27 girls and 46 boys) with hearing impairment aged 7 to 16 years (mean age 11.9 ± 2.8 years). The mean weight of the children was 47.7 ± 17.4 kg, the mean height was 153 ± 17.5 cm and the average BMI value was 19.7 ± 4.1. Following methods for testing of children with hearing impairment were utilized: the Movemet Assessment Battery for Children - Second Edition (MABC-2) and Unifittest 6-60. Results were evaluated according to Czech standards. All children were also tested for their somatognostic functions according to Kolář. Furthermore, anamnestic data were obtained from parents of 54 children using a non-standardized questionnaire. In the case of 20 children, the assessment was repeated after 3 years. Statistica and Microsoft Excel 2016 were used for data processing. Results: The hypothesis was confirmed, i.e. children with hearing impairment have higher incidence...
Developmental coordination disorder - literature review
Kosová, Blanka ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Developmental coordination disorder - literature review Objectives: The theoretical part talks about developmental coordination disorder, its diagnosis, investigations, etiology and division during the different ages of the child. The practical part compares the studies relating to atypical development of motor skills in children with developmental coordination disorder. In diploma thesis was often used shortcut CKP and DCD, depending on the source from which it was drawn. DCD is the English equivalent of the shortcut CKP. Methods: This diploma thesis has both descriptively - analytical character. It will be treated as a literature review. Results: On the basis of the researched literary sources, this thesis provides a comprehensive picture on the topic of developmental coordination disorder. This thesis evaluated the atypical motor skills in school and preschool age children with developmental coordination disorder from the perspective of different authors. It has been found, which diagnostic procedures are used and which difficulties are most limiting for the children. Keywords: developmental coordination disorder, fine motor skills, hand function, gross motor skills
Gross motor skills development and assessment in children aged 6-10 - a systematic review
Králová, Vilma ; Štveráková, Tereza (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of gross motor skills development in children of younger school age (6-10) and with the possible options of its assessment. The theoretical part is devoted to definition of the term younger school age. It also defines important milestones in child's motor development and sets general recommendations about physical activity at this age. Tests evaluating gross motor skills have been described, both clinical tests - Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT), Ten Meter Walk Test (10MWT), Time to Rise from the Floor (TRF), and test batteries Movement Assessment Battery for Children - 2nd Edition (MABC-2), Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency - 2nd Edition (BOT-2), MOBAK (Motorische Basiskompetenzen), Test of Gross Motor Development - 3rd edition (TGMD-3) and Körperkoordinationstest für Kinder (KTK). On a sample of four probands the gross motor skills have been measured using test batteries MABC-2, BOT-2 Short Form (SF) and MOBAK. The main aim of this study was to evaluate and compare subtests through all the test batteries which have been chosen. We did not find any significant correlation between results of MABC-2 and BOT-2 SF. However, the children's results in all the test batteries can be rated as average to above average. None of...
The Use of Therasuit method on individual with cerebral palsy
Fatková, Aneta ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Malá, Michaela (referee)
Title: The Use of Therasuit method on individuals with cerebral palsy Objectives: The main objective of the work is to observe a 4-week rehabilitation program according to the Therasuit method. Determine whether there will be changes in the area of gross motor skills and primitive reflexes, and to describe the individual course of the rehabilitation process in individual probands. Another objective is an evaluation of the therapeutic effect on the child's physical activities from the parents point of view. Methods: It is a mixed research method which contains an empirical-theoretical form of case sudies of 3 probands. The study included 2 boys and 1 girl aged 3, 4 and 7 years with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, while in the first proband it occurs in the form of spastic diparesis, in the second one in the form of spastic hemiparesis, and in the third one in the form of spastic triparesis. The data collection methods used include input and output kinesiological analysis, qualitative observation of the rehabilitation process and a qualitative interview with a legal representative focused on the child's physical activities prior to and after rehabilitation. Results: We found that after 4-week rehabilitation according to the Therasuit method, all 3 probands improved their gross motor skills. In all 3...

Author: Bc. Anna Pavelková Title: Correlation of physical activity, motor skills and flat feet in children aged 7-15 years Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to map the level of physical activity of selected age population of children that were indicated for physiotherapy, based on a questionnaire of physical activity PAQ-C. To monitor whether we find physical activity at levels 1 and 2 out (low physicalactivity)outof 5 levelspossible in children with flatfeet,on the basisof the PAQ- C questionnaire. Further objectify the flatfeet using a podoscope, and determine the level of the flatfeet according to Clement. Confirm / disprove the effect of the level of flatfeet on the achievement of the percentile (component and total) of the test battery MABC-2 in the evaluation of motor skills (especially balance and gross motor skills). Methods: A group of 15 children aged ± 10 years with diagnosed flatfeet (indicated for individual or group physiotherapy) formed a research sample for our study. Probands filled out an anamnestic questionnaire and a questionnaire on physical activity PAQ-C. Photographs of the plantogram of patients' were taken from the podoscope using a Huawei P9 Lite mobile camera (2017) placed on a tripod. The level of flatfeet was evaluated according to Clement based on the...
