Influence of Centrifugal Compressor Acoustic and Operating Parameters by Stator Geometry Modifications
Vacula, Jiří ; Vítek, Oldřich (referee) ; Babák, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
The increasing demands on the operational capabilities of rotating machines are mutually reflected in the ever-increasing computational capabilities. This makes it possible to analyse very detailed aerodynamic phenomena and to investigate the detailed effects of lesser-known aerodynamic principles. The standard aerodynamic design of a centrifugal compressor consists of an open impeller containing a smooth stator; however, the shape of the stator also contributes to the resulting parameters of a rotating machine. Thus, in this paper, the effect of stator geometry is first analysed qualitatively by analytical methods based on the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equation. Next, the influence of stator geometry is investigated by a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool using circumferential casing treatment. The experimentally measured circumferential grooving of GT15 compressor shows that the quality of the treated surface can have a significant effect on the resulting performance of the rotating machine. Another measured casing treatment variant of the GTD2056 compressor shows an increase in efficiency of 0.5% and a marginal effect on aerodynamic noise. The relationship between the efficiency increases and losses is analysed using a viscous dissipation function that directly points to the influence of the flow field due to the geometric modifications of the stator and is shown to be largely conclusive for describing the losses in the impeller region.
Optimalizace systému Suricata zredukovaním mezivláknových závislostí
Kríž, Adam ; Setinský, Jiří (referee) ; Šišmiš, Lukáš (advisor)
In the age of the internet, connection to the global network is possible from almost any type of device. Just to name a few: a fridge, a front door, a smart watches and more. With the growing number of devices that require an internet connection, the security and protection of the user's privacy comes to the foreground. One of the solutions that can be ensured network protection is Suricata, which is used to detect network threats and events. It can deploy as a monitoring system or it can be an active prevention system. Aim of this work will be optimizing the Suricata system in IDS mode (Intrusion Detection System ). As a result of the work, certain data structures will be changed, which will reduce cross-thread dependencies. The result will be an expected increase in performance in the form of savings processor time and increasing the volume of processed packets at the same time. Achieved results will be described in detail and evaluated at the end of the bachelor's thesis.
Improvement of turbocharger inlet manifold parameters
Kula, Štěpán ; Vacula, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a new elbow geometry to reduce the pressure drop in the inlet suction pipe of a turbocharger compressor. At the beginning of the thesis there is a description of the fluid flow and hydraulics losses that result in pressure loss in the pipe. Next, possible methods by which the shape of the piping can be optimized are described. The last, main section deals with the actual optimization of the elbow using the manual method and the Adaptive Single-Objective method, which succeeded in reducing the pressure losses and improving the outlet flow profile.
Equipment for drying durable "Biltong" meat with warm air
Gabriel, Jan ; Foltýnová, Dana (referee) ; Čípek, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design proposal of a meat dryer of the "Biltong" type. The aim of the thesis is to design the construction of the device according to the given parameters. The first part of the thesis consists of a research of current principles and equipment used for meat drying. In the second part, possible conceptual variants are described. Based on the conceptual part with regard to the assignment, suitable components of the dryer are selected. The practical part then deals with the performance design and construction solution of the dryer.
Quantitative comparison of used mesh for CFD software ANSYS Fluent
Koudelková, Kateřina ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Štefan, David (advisor)
Creating a good computational mesh is one of the crucial activities in any CFD calculation. CFD software aim to make a mesh generation as simple and automated as possible, due to its time-demanding nature. ANSYS Fluent has introduced a tool for partially automatic mesh generation, a method called Mosaic mesh, which should ensure that the best type of mesh element is used in each part of the geometry for optimal results. Polyhexcore is the latest computational mesh generation method used by Mosaic mesh technology. This thesis aims to compare the Polyhexcore mesh with other types of computational meshes on an aerodynamic test problem.
Membrane modeling in a single-channel microfluidic chip
Tesák, Petr ; Pekař, Miloslav (referee) ; Venerová, Tereza (advisor)
This work deals with the modelation of artificial cellular membranes in a single channel microfluidic chip. It describes the conditions under which the model membranes are created in channels that are of three different widths. A new method of filling such chips was developed where it is possible to check if the chip is ready to use and at the same time fill it up with saline solution. Furthermore data based on the number of created and burst membranes in microfluidic chips was processed. This statistic takes into consideration the state of these artificial membranes in correlation with all of the chosen sizes and flow rates. Altough there were many complications while gathering this data it is still possible to use it to describe all the benefits and disadvantages of these channels.
Viscosimetry of hyaluronan-amphiphile systems
Trojan, Martin ; Běťák, Jiří (referee) ; Chytil, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis investigates the interaction between the polysaccharide sodium hyaluronate (HA) and some amphiphilic molecules. As amphiphilic molecules the aminoacids lysine and 6 – aminocaproic acids were chosen. The presence of the carboxylic group on HA and the aminogroup on the aminoacids suggests electrostatic interaction between these two compounds. This supposal offers the possibility to modificate HA and uses it as a new type of a carrier of bioactive compounds, for example medicals. The HA of two molecular weights (1.75MDa and 70kDa) were chosen for the study of the interactions with the aminoacids. Solutions of HA and stock solutions of the aminoacids were prepared for their mutual mixing in the various volume ratios. The solutions and the mixtures were measured in three types of environment: pure water, 0.15M solution of NaCl and in phosphate buffer (PBS) of pH 6. The interactions were investigated by means of reometry. Our results show, the presence of interactions between HA and the aminoacids mainly in the system consisting the 1.75 MDa HA and lysine in water. As a result of the interactions, a decrease in the viscosity of the mixtures comparing to the HA solutions was observed.

Hadaš, Zdeněk ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Starý, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the river basin flood protection Loučka. The goal of the thesis is to assess the need of flood control measures supplement in the watershed. The first part deals with exploration of river basin, acquiring geographic factors and obtaining information about the topic, establishment and application of rainfall model used for solving the problem. The second part deals with improving of flood protection at critical selected places by using design of reservoir system with retention effect and by increasing river basin capacity. For basin schematisation was used ArcGIS program and the simulation of rainfall-runoff process was made by Hydrog program.
