Conversion of fingerprints captured by a mobile device into a standardized format - image editing
Mucha, Vojtěch ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of fingerprint conversion taken by a mobile device into a standardized format. In the present day, mobile devices are used more and more often to acquire biometric data, fingerprints included. Processing and standardization of such data is an essential part of the subsequent biometric analysis. The aim of the work is to design and implement an algorithm which would convert a photo of a finger into a grey scale picture of its fingerprint with distinct papillary lines and subdued valleys. The algorithm is implemented in C++ using OpenCV library and a trained neural network for finger detection from hand image. The achieved results are evaluated according to the algorithms for assessing the quality of fingerprints NFIQ 2 and Innovatrics.
Biometric fingerprint liveness detection
Rišian, Lukáš ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of biometric fingerprint liveness recognition. The aim of the thesis is to propose a solution that reliably and securely recognizes fake fingerprints from genuine ones. Specifically, the work focuses on investigating methods for detecting fingerprint liveness using software tools, creating a custom fingerprint test database, testing and identifying relevant characteristics for successful liveness detection, and using them to implement fingerprint liveness recognition algorithms. Another goal was to create a GUI to provide a tool for overall detection. The work includes an analysis of the basics of biometrics, fingerprint characteristics and structure, current sensors used for fingerprint extraction, databases used, image preprocessing methods, tested features, implemented algorithms, and two GUI variants. More than 180 different image features were tested and more than 20 variants of algorithms were implemented. From these algorithms, the best ones were selected, whose detection results were then compared with those of foreign authors. The best algorithm achieved an accuracy of almost 90%, which can be considered a reliable and satisfactory result compared to foreign authors.
Biometrical security system
Tříska, Martin ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with coplete design and implementation of access control system.using biometrical data. System is applicable in smaller applications. The first part contains an small introduction to fingerprint acquiring/processing and also describe selection of a communication interface between terminals and host system including possible ways of embedding into devices. The next part is covered in the practical implementation in terms of both hardware and software.
Forensic Optical Fingerprint Comparator
Dvořák, Marek ; Klubal, Ondřej (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
My Bachelor Thesis deals with the design and creation of an application that replaces the function of forensic optical comparator. It also describes features of fingerprints and their prominent points, which are used for recognition of individuals. Work with fingerprints is very sensitive as for the quality of images. For this reason a Gabor filter has been implemented and described. Furthermore, the thesis describes basic functions used for work with images.
Liveness Detection on Fingers Using Vein Pattern
Fingerprint sensors
Slezák, Jakub ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the possibilities of immediate fingerprinting and the use of these fingerprints to identify people. The content of the thesis is the technological evaluation of contact and contactless fingerprinting. A presentation and execusion of a fingerprint optical scanner with corresponding software is described together with a review of the results.
Fingerprints Generator
Chaloupka, Radek ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
Algorithms for fingerprints recognition are already known for long time and there is also an effort for their best optimization. This master's thesis is dealing with an opposite approach, where the fingerprints are not being recognized, but are generated on the minutiae position basis. Such algorithm is then free of the minutiae detection from image and enhancements of fingerprints. Results of this work are the synthetic images generated according to few given parameters, especially minutiae.
Security of Biometric Systems
První přístup je z oblasti testování živosti a znemožňuje použití různých typů falešných otisků prstů a jiných metod oklamání senzoru v průběhu procesu snímání otisků.
Fingerprint scanning
Kubiš, Michal ; Dobeš,, Michal (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
Fingerprints are the oldest and most used form of biometric identification. A critical step is reliable extract minutiae from the fingerprint images. However fingerprint images are rarely of perfect quality, they may be degraded and corrupted due to natural variations in skin and sensing conditions. Thus, image enhancement techniques are necessary prior to minutiae extraction. This work includes implementation of three techniques for fingerprint image enhancement, minutiae extraction and consturction of fingerprint reading device. Experiments are realized with two sets of fingerprints to evaluate the performance of implemented techniques.
Biometric Image Data Classifier
Tretter, Zdeněk ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Doležel, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement fingerprint classifier, which classifies the fingerprints based on the scanner used. Reader is presented with existing types of fingerprint scanners and phases of classification. Designed classifier is using a cascade of classifiers, trained using the AdaBoost learning algorithm. The application was implemented in the C++ language using OpenCV library for operational systems GNU/Linux and MS Windows.
