Spectres and Illusions
Arendárik, Ján ; Stratil, Václav (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
The subject of my practical diploma thesis is a painting reaction to the photographs from years 1915 to 1930. I see them as a " photographs of dead(lost) world. The photographs of people whose dont live in present but the photographs are evidence of their existence in the past.
Translation of C Expressions to DIMACS Format
Grim, Pavel ; Charvát, Lukáš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This work focuses on proposition of transfer of the expressions entered in the C programming language into DIMACS format and creation of program in programming language C++ making this transfer. This work contains a description of the C programming language and its operators. It also contains a description of the conjunctive normal form and a description of the DIMACS format. Following is a proposal for a program for the transfer of expression in the C programming language to the DIMACS format and description of realization of program performing this transfer.
Transformation of Equation Editor Expressions to LaTeX
Šimek, Jiří ; Jirák, Ota (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of transformation of Equation editor expressions to LaTeX. It presents description of Equation editor expressions in Word 2007, it subsequently focuses on the syntax of particular expressions and it suggests the ways of their transformation into LaTeX. The grammar, which was used for the implementation of the converter, is designed on the basis of the syntax of expressions.
Nucleotide density for finding CpG islands
Sikorová, Eva ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Maděránková, Denisa (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with searching for CpG islands in the DNA sequences using the nucleotide density vectors. The first part includes view of the DNA structure, the genetic information expression, more detailed analysis of CpG islands and primarily their detection methods. In the practical part the algorithm for graphical representation of nucleotides on the basis of their densities and detections of CpG islands of artificially created and real DNA sequences was realized in the MATLAB program. The thesis includes the analysis of twenty sequences with the expected content of CpGIs and the comparison of results between the created program and two search engines.
Vliv expozice těžkých kovů na expresi mRNA isoforem metalothioneinu u adherentních buněčných linií
Jordanová, Lucie
Metallothionein is a small cysteine-rich protein that plays an important role in metal homeostasis and protection against heavy metal toxicity, DNA damage and oxidative stress. This bachelor thesis was conducted to investigate the effect of heavy metal exposure on the mRNA expression of metallothionein isoforms in adherent cell lines. The effect of zinc exposure in the form of ZnSO4 on the mRNA expression of MT-1A, MT-1X and MT-2A isoforms in adherent breast cancer cell lines MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 and T-47D was investigated. Using MTT viability assay, the cell viability changes at different ZnSO4 concentrations and RNA integrity is verified using denaturing agarose gel. Polymerase chain reaction combined with reverse transcription qRT-PCR is used to study mRNA levels.
Sociolinguistic analysis of communication of men and women
Servusová, Carolina ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Suková Vychopňová, Kateřina (referee)
he Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of interpersonal communication. The bachelor's thesis aims to focus on communication and expression differences between male and female genders. It summarizes the most important findings from this field, from literature and scientific articles. Our focus is also in contextualising our work in socio-linguistic fields, dealing with society, language and communication processes. A secondary objective is also to determine whether any expressive differences are innate or learned. The Bachelor thesis is divided into Chapter 7 chapters. In the first chapter, we deal with language and communication. We outline the first differences in communication. In the next three chapters, we focus on scientific disciplines dealing with the differentiation of society, but also with language and communication. These are sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and anthropolinguistics. In other chapters, we are dealing with language production and the gender heterogeneity of speech. We look for differences and influences that affect our speech and communication. In the last chapter we focus on qualitative research, observation, which is focused on several dozen communication situations mostly from French backgrounds. We are trying to find the differences that we have searched in the...
Expression and purification of Tick-borne encephalitis virus Capsid protein
SCHMELZER, Jakob
Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) is an important pathogen of the family Flaviviridae with an emerging health concern. Virus causes severe neurological disorders to human population in Europa and Asia. Despite effective vaccine, there is no specific antiviral treatment till now. The capsid protein encapsules the viral positive-sense single-stranded RNA and is essential in packaging and assembling of new virions within the host. A deeper understanding of these interactions and their implications should lead to new antiviral strategies and drug design. This thesis deals with the expression and purification of the capsid protein without membrane anchor using Escherichia coli expression system.
Age-associated changes of transposable elements activity in the oocytes and differences in their content across mammalian genomes.
BĂDICI, Marco Constantin
Analysis of expression and DNA methylation of retrotransposons in single oocyte datasets from reproductive young and aged mouse females with the aim to assess the association between aging and altered activity of retrotransposons. Estimation of genomic transposon content in selected mammalian species using genome assembly-independent approach.
Worksheets for teaching mathematics at secondary school from selected topics
ONDRÁČKOVÁ, Kamila
The main aim of the thesis is to verify the pupils knowledge in arithmetic on the basis of worksheets at lower-secondary schools and selected grammar schools. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the knowledge that each pupil should already know. The practical part contains 4 working sheets intended for pupils of the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades of lower-secondary school and for the pupils of equal corresponding grade of grammar schools. The results with detailed solution of the work sheets is listed in the appendix of the thesis. The practical part includes is the results of the research which show the pupils´ differences of knowledge of the selected schools.
Determination of tick-pathogen interactions during acquisition and transmission of Borrelia duttonii by Ornithodoros moubata
ĆETKOVIĆ, Ana
The goal of this thesis was to investigate the interaction between Borrelia duttonii, a causative agent of TBRF in Africa, and its tick vector Ornithodoros moubata in terms of acquisition and transmission dynamics. The infectivity of frozen sera and infected unfed O. moubata ticks was evaluated. The acquisition efficiency of B. duttonii 1120K3 and Ly isolates by O. moubata was determined and compared. The minimum acquisition time was established as well. Moreover, the sensitivity of Borrelia in the presence of different animal sera was analysed.
