TITLE: Functionality and quality of preschool education programme in relation to evaluation tools AUTHOR: Michaela Kuběnová DEPARTMENT: The Center of School Management SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Jan Voda, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The bachelor's thesis discusses option of school education programme evaluation in the context of auto-evaluating procedures. The theoretical part explains the related terms, individual steps of auto-evaluation procedure, including evaluation tools, and describes basic documents of the state curricular policy in terms of preschool education. The research part concerns with the research question, i.e. investigation of the most commonly used methods form obtaining feedback showing a need for school curriculum modifications. The research method used is a questionnare. The work concludes that an interview is the method most commonly used with various groups of respondents. Evaluation tools for assessment of the School Educational Programme in the field of pedagogical process

The final thesis deals with methods and techniques that are used for collecting and analyzing data used in the evaluation process in school curriculums in kindergartens. The theoretical part contains definitions and basic concepts related to the areas of assessment and evaluation, evaluation tools and processes. It identifies the basic methods and techniques of evaluation processes and their practical application in the assessment of the evaluation system of the School Education Program (SEP) in terms of merged kindergartens. In the empirical part it focuses on the issue (area) of the evaluation of school curriculums in kindergartens in terms of unified kindergartens and is based on information obtained by a questionnaire survey. It examines the practical usage of specific evaluation tools in assessing evaluation systems, analyzes actual implementation, effectiveness and functionality of evaluation practices and evaluation of the research. In conclusion it provides recommendations for possible procedures and solutions of discovered shortcomings in the evaluation of school curricula in terms of unified kindergartens.

Evaluation tools for assessment of school programme in educational process

The master thesis deals with the evaluation tools available for the assessment of the educational programme in the pedagogical process. The aim of this work is to determine the attitudes and practical experience in school management through the use of evaluation tools in practice and to recommend management schools in the selection of appropriate evaluation tools. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on the literature analysed in terms related to the evaluation of school assessment tools. The practical part contains the results of an investigation which was carried out by questionnaire in primary schools and kindergartens in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the practical part is to determine which evaluation tools for school self-assessment are used. From the information obtained, the results of the survey, experiences and attitudes of school management in the area of available school self-assessment evaluation tools, were analysed.

Autoevaluation on the second grade of the primary school and at the secondary school.

This thesis aims to describe tools which can be used in the autoevaluation of the school in various areas, mainly in the educational (the attitude to a subject, motivation, testing knowledge and skills), and the pedagogical area (the climate, sense perception and relationships in the class). The autoevaluation can be carried out by internal measures or it is also possible to make use of external sources (the State Graduation Exam, NIQES, SCIO, Kalibro). Although nowadays evaluative tools are described in the specialized literature, most publications deal with them rather in connection with the evaluation, which is surveyed in detail, and readers are presented with clear steps that must be taken so that the evaluation is successful (procedural steps are described there). Basic evaluative tools are mentioned but they only play an illustrative role. An opposite trend also occurs in the specialized literature. Evaluative tools are described in great detail but it is not always clear to which evaluation processes they belong. This thesis intends to fill this gap. The chosen tools of diagnostics are further analyzed thoroughly (including informing the readers about the possibilities of analysis of the data gained and the use of this information in the school praxis).
