Use of Educational CD-ROMs in Science and Biology Teaching at Lower and Upper Secondary Schools

Information and communication technologies (ICT) are a daily part of everyone's life. Therefore in this work I continue in topic of my thesis, in which I created and verified in practice educational program (software) "Microbiology". The aim of this work was to create, publish and verify in practice educational programs for teaching microbiology, mycology and protozoology at lower and secondary schools. I tried to unify terms used in these scientific areas and to create high-quality sources of information. Due to its easy availability (CD-ROM, internet), interactive sections, a number of images, texts, experiments, fun games, quizzes and other attractions educational programs can enhance traditional teaching mechanism of biology in all types of schools. This work includes a content analysis of biologically oriented educational programs currently available in the Czech Republic. It describes my own programs ("Microbiology", "Mycology" and "Protozoology") and processes the results of evaluation of programs by teacher lower and upper secondary schools. Teachers' opinions I statistically evaluated using questionnaires. The results show that lower secondary schools teachers use educational programs more often than upper secondary schools teachers. Computer and Internet in the School Learning Process (Focusing on the use of Characters of Creative Possibilities Progress)

in English Bachelor thesis examines the role of modern information technology, especially computers and the internet, in the process of school learning. It defines the basic concepts and tries to capture how the role of computers in the classroom changed during the last years . Bachelor thesis sets out to address the issue of computers and the Internet in education from two perspectives: a) focus and attention on the basic problems and potential risks in the use of computers and the Internet in the process of school learning. b) the possibility of usage of computers and the Internet with regard to the principles of Creative Possibilities Progress learning, and identification of effective methods and strategies and their involvement in the learning process. The introductory chapter briefly summarizes the history of computers from the early predecessors to the latest trends in information technology, presents some of the first famous global and domestic computers and the conclusion summarizes some basic concepts. Mobile technology as a tool for management and teaching in elementary and secondary education

The primary aim of the thesis concerning mobile technology as a tool for management and teaching at school is to describe the current status of ICT at school from two perspectives: From the management perspective as well as from the perspective of school education. Further, to look through the state policy in education, Annual report of the Czech School Inspectorate statistics CSO and professional literature in this area at the current state of technology introduction at present-day schools. To capture the view of Experts on the new trends that penetrate to us from abroad. To gather by means of quantitative research of the randomly selected sample of respondents what are the possibilities and benefits of technology and knowledge of new trends in our conditions (BYOT). To verify by means of research how this issue is perceived and accepted by current teachers and leaders at schools in the Prague region and in several other regions of the Czech Republic. The conclusion tries to summarize and on the basis of the research results to show needs, opportunities and benefits of mobile technology for the school and its clients. Problems in the use of information technology in teaching at primary school. Analysis of current situation in Prague 1

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in primary schools in the Czech Republic. It briefly outlines the historical development of educational aids from the 19th century until the beginning of the 21st century, when the level of ICT development significantly affects the educational process. Specifics of an information society and the impact of ICT on today's world are described as well. Several European and Czech strategic documents connected to the implementation and teaching of ICT in schools are mentioned. A description of the three main aspects of the ICT implementation (required hardware, software and teachers' training) is provided, including a description of problems and risks of the implementation process. The process of the successful implementation of ICT in the school environment and educational process is described on the example of ZS Lupacova, Prague. The analysis of the current situation in primary schools in Prague 1 is provided.

New Technologies in Education

Cílem této práce je prozkoumat, shrnout a uspořádat nejvýznamnějším vzdělávací technologie. Porovnat a rozdělit tyto technologie do konkrétních skupin, jako například výukový software, internetové stránky s výukovými nástroji, elektronické encyklopedie, mobilní zařízení a zařízení, jež mají pomáhat s výukou a také ji ulehčovat. Pokusit se tyto technologie uspořádat a vytvořit tak systém, který by pomohl ostatním studentům rozhodnout co je pro ně nejlepší a co by naopak byla ztráta času. Dále je také cílem vyzvednout nejužitečnější technologie a pomoci pochopit jejich účel a význam, a hlavně poukázat na jejich největší přednosti a slabosti.

Use of the tablet in an interactive teaching

This thesis deals with the problematic of the tablet usage in an interactive teaching. The first chapter is devoted to interactive teaching at all. The second and third chapters are dedicated to a detailed description of tablet category. Both parts explain functions, technical details and key features. The fourth and fifth chapter narrate how interactive whiteboards and electronic voting equipment might be used in classrooms and other education process. The following chapter six is related to the issues of connectivity between tablet and interactive whiteboard. The seventh part narrates software and tutorials suitable for the teaching process. The eighth part consists of exact and specific examples of lessons, where interactive elements were used. The last ninth chapter investigates the technical school equipment and their access to interactive teaching. The conclusion summarizes which goals and aims of the thesis were reached.

Support for computer teaching for the elderly

This bachelor's thesis deals with developing educational multimedia software application for the elderly, which would make them familiar with the basic principles of computer work and its control. The first section focuses on current state of computer literacy among the elderly in the Czech Republic. The next part deals with computers teaching for seniors and with opportunities in this area. The second part deals with the approach to creating educational software applications for the elderly. I describe the problems associated with ageing process, and on these basics, I describe recommendations how the application for the elderly should look and control. The third part is devoted to the creation of multimedia educational software applications for the elderly. I deal with choosing development environment and technology, creating the appearance, handling and learning text. I also focus on application testing and its final publishing. Finally, I consider the possible use of this software application for computer teaching.

Education of Physics and Creativeness

The aim of this graduation theses is to explore one of the theme of the contemporary educational reform in Czech republic what is development of creativeness at the basic school education. This question is outlined in general terms in the firs part of the theses and subsequently developed on the subject of physics education. Special emphasis is placed on the comparing of standard creativeness developing instruments and usage of computing technologies by computer supported education what is another essential item of current education. Significant part of this thesis deals with the software for the basic school physics education and its evaluation. The theses ends with the experiment with pupils of a basic school that should compare these two creativeness developing instruments mentioned above and give impetus to another research in this subject.

Application of information technologies at primary school. Proposal, verification and evaluation of a teachware for English lessons.

This thesis deals with the problems of applying information technologies at primary school. The first theoretical part of the thesis presents important terminology such as information technology, educational software, etc. and considers the pros and cons of using computers in lessons. It also identifies the role of the teacher in computer education and further classifies and evaluates teachware. The second practical part consists of a survey and a project. The aim of the survey was to find out how frequently teachware is used in English lessons at Czech primary schools. The data for the survey were collected at five primary schools in the Tábor region. The aim of the project was to create, verify and evaluate an English language teachware suitable for English lessons at primary school.
