Determinants of economic security building block of well-being of university students

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the topic of a comprehensive examination of the relationship between economic security and the well-being of university students. The aim of the thesis is to determine how financial stability, financial literacy, and other economic factors affect psychological and physical well-being. Everything is placed in the context of the current economic and social conditions, which are constantly changing. Global and geopolitical events that have influenced the view on well-being as such in recent years and forced the population to reconsider priorities and the way of perceiving security and overall well-being are mentioned aswell. The theoretical part of the thesis addresses individual concepts and current trends in well-being, for example, the PERMA+4 model, which expands well-being to include economic security. Everything is set in the context of influencing overall well-being in connection with financial literacy and financial stability. Subsequently, the theoretical part discusses factors that affect economic security, such as proper management of financial resources, financial literacy, or investments. Ohrožení ekonomických zájmů EU v Jižní a Střední Americe.

The dissertation analyses the threats to economic interests of EU in Latin America - mostly focused on MERCOSUR's countries. Both regions share history, cultural and social bonds which were interrupted by the Cold War. During this period was Latin America a natural zone of interest of the United States (similarity with East Europe and USS R). The fundamental event is the end of bipolarity. The dissertation is mostly focused on one decade between 2003-2013. The three main chapters define the concept of economic security, the relationship between the EU-Latin America on the background of the historical insight and third main chapter analyses China's engagement in Latin America. In the post-Cold War period came a significant paradigmatic shift in the perception of economic security/vulnerability. Considering the asymmetry of relations between the two regions, we analyze a historical background, including the so-called "shared values" that partially (but not entirely) can be challenged. Relations between the two regions are viewed as highly pragmatic with a strong emphasis on trade ties. The impact of US shale gas extraction on local dynamics between environmental- and economic- security frames

This work focuses on situations where two different sectors of human security - economic and environmental - clash. It uses the currently popular topic of shale gas in the United States in order to determine what happens when such conflict occurs. It also tries to find out which sector potentially dominates in this conflict. The first part of the work defines the research questions, states my preliminary working thesis and discusses sources used. The theoretical background of the whole work is then outlined in the second part. Special attention is given to the concept of human security and the Copenhagen school, i.e. to elements that widened the traditional perception of security. The second part, however, is also engaged in the definition of the theoretical framework of given security sectors in the context of US shale gas. The third part is the core of the work's research. Here, various mini case studies within the United States and their economic and environmental variables are discussed. The aim is to find out what happened in specific cases when the clash of the two sectors occurred. China’s economic diplomacy in Africa

The thesis focuses on China's economic diplomacy in Africa. The theoretical part deals with the concept of economic security (as a part of soft security) and economic diplomacy (as a way how to secure economic security). Africa is just one of many areas where China is engaged. The objective of the thesis is to identify the particular policies of China's economic diplomacy. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the theoretical concepts, the second part with the energy security and policy in China. The third part deals with the individual areas of cooperation between China and Africa and China's main principles of cooperation. The main areas are international trade, foreign direct investment and foreign aid. The last part describes the Chinese cooperation with two particular countries -- Angola and Sudan.
