Kristýna Plevová Title: Using the principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization in patients with scoliosis Abstract: The bachelor's thesis deals with the problem of idiopathic scoliosis in adults, treatment options and physiotherapeutic approaches with a strong focus on Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). The bachelor's thesis aims to design a therapeutic unit with elements based on the principles of DNS, application of the unit and subsequent evaluation of the therapeutic procedure and benefits for patients. The theoretical part of the thesis describes scoliosis, its classification, examination and therapeutic options, then the concept of DNS, its principles, application and testing, and finally a special examination focused on scoliosis and the condition of the deep spinal stabilization system (DSSS). The practical part consists of two case studies, including an initial and an output kinesiological examination and a physiotherapeutic intervention. The final comprehensive exit examination after six months of therapy and home exercise shows positive changes in some postural and motor aspects in the patients. The use of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation exercise in female basketball players with deep stabilisation spinal system dysfunction

This theoretical-practical bachelor thesis focuses on dysfunction of the deep stabilisation system of the spine in female basketball players. Basketball is an unilateral sport depending on which hand we use to shoot or dribble, and therefore unilateral overloading occurs. This results in the development of muscle imbalances, painful syndromes, and a higher risk of injury. The theoretical part addresses several thematic areas important for understanding the issue. These include posture and its components, the deep stabilizing system of the spine, specifically its anatomy, functions, dysfunctions, and examination. Another area is a summary of developmental kinesiology and its most significant periods during childhood. Proper child development is the foundation of the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) concept included in the fourth thematic area. The fifth theme covers muscle imbalances, their types, and causes. The last section offers a comprehensive insight into basketball itself, analyzing its movement patterns, most stressed muscles, and common injuries resulting from this sport. Possibilities of Physical Therapy for Infants with Diastasis Recti

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of abdominal muscle separation, known as diastasis, among infants and its subsequent resolution.The purpose of the thesis is to summarize theoretical knowledge about motor develompent, the anatomy of the abdominal wall, and the infants' diastasis itself, along with describing how this issue can be proeperly addressed and treated. The thesis also focuses on diagnosing psychomotor develompent and possible complications of diastasis recti abdominis which may or may not occur in future.
The influence of a movement intervention based on developmental kinesiology principles on female athletes in the 18+ category of sports aerobics.

Title: The influence of a movement intervention based on developmental kinesiology principles on female athletes in the 18+ category of sports aerobics. Objective: Determining the effectiveness of a 10week movement intervention based on core stabilization for correcting faulty posture and alleviating back pain in four elite sport aerobics competitors in the age category of 18 and above. Methods: Evaluation of body posture aspects in a static standing position, examination of trunk stabilization, Young Spine Questionnaire survey, and a 10week movement intervention utilizing exercises to strengthen trunk stabilization based on the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization concept enriched with a mobilizing exercise for the Sacroiliac joint. Qualitative research is chosen as the research strategy. Results: The 10week movement program based on strengthening trunk stabilization according to the DNS concept with an element of releasing the SI joint had a positive impact on reducing the frequency of back pain in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions of the spine by one degree in 3 out of 4 girls. Effect of Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization autotherapy on functional foot disorders

This thesis aimed to demonstrate the effect of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization autotherapy on functional foot disorders in comparison with autotherapy according to the analytical approach. The theoretical part summarized the findings regarding foot and gait kinesiology, developmental kinesiology as a pivotal period for gait development and foot formation, the relationship between foot and posture, and functional foot defects. METHODOLOGY: In this study, 26 probands aged 20-26 years were divided into two groups, namely, the DNS group and the Analyst group. The names of the groups were chosen according to the type of self-therapy. At the beginning of this work, an initial measurement was conducted where probands in both groups were measured using Physionesnig platform in selected five tests. These tests are Static analysis, Unilateral Stance, Sit-to-stand, Weight bearing squat, Dynamic analysis. After the initial measurement using the Physiosensing platform, individual probands were instructed and coached by the physiotherapist in self- therapy regarding the given exercise set-up. Correlation between evaluation of functional postural tests and ability to expand abdominal wall in low back pain population.

The theoretical part: The theoretical part of thesis shortly describes anatomy and kinesiology of lumbar spine. The second chapter contains the causes of LBP and alerts to red flags. Muscle stabilization system of spine and intraabdominal pressure are themes of other chapters. Techniques of intraabdominal pressure measurement and questionnaires of quality of life were described at the end of the theoretical part. Methodology: 36 patients (22 female, mean age = 41.86, 16 male, mean age = 40.07) with low back pain were evaluated in three positions. Every proband filled Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) before the examination. Trunk orthosis DNS Brace evaluated 8 seconds intraabdominal pressure in three tests - breathing stereotype test, diaphragm test and hip flexion test. DNS instructor evaluated the same three tests by aspection and palpation. The first half of the probands was evaluated first with DNS Brace, the second half of probands was evaluated first with DNS instructor. Results: A statistically significant correlation (r=0,479, p=0,003) between evaluations DNS Brace and DNS instructor was demonstrated in one out three DNS tests - diaphragm test. Stability in Showjumping and Dressage Riders

Horse-riding has a major influence on the posture of the whole body of the rider. Rider has to constantly compensate the movement of horse's body and has to maintain a proper seat. The compensation is very demanding in harder tasks (showjumping, trotting) and is provided mainly by the trunk area of rider's body. In addition, if the saddle doesn't fit the rider, it leads to improper seat and the compensation becomes even harder. In long term, that could affect different segments of the rider's body and his overall stability. The practical part of this thesis consists of one-time examination of two groups. The first group contained nine showjumping and dressage riders who engage in horse-riding regularly over many years and do not do any other sport or compensatory exercises. The second group was control group and consisted ten healthy controls. Both groups contained 19-24 years old volunteers of the same gender. The main goal was to compare the two groups and to find out whereas the inclusion of the compensatory excercises would be desirable for riders. The effect of the deep stabilization system on the prevention of knee injuries in soccer

This bachelor's thesis examines the deep spinal stabilization system and its effect on knee stability of soccer players for future injury prevention. Joint instability is cited as a major risk factor for non-contact knee injuries. Therefore, this thesis explores the possibility of improving its stability by improving the activation of the deep stabilization system of the spine. Soccer is a collective sport with a large player base and with this comes a high number of injuries. Among the most common of these are knee injuries. The movements performed in football require precise coordination of the activity of the muscles of the lower limbs. These movements are discussed in this thesis, along with the most common football-specific injury patterns. The functional aspects of the deep stabilization system of the spine are also presented. This is a set of muscles of the trunk, diaphragm and pelvic floor that, when properly coordinated, provide spinal bracing during posturally demanding positions. Its proper development begins in early childhood and its involvement depends, among other things, on the correct positioning of the segments. Physiotherapy with dynamic neuromuscular stabilization elements in oncological patients after mastectomy

The bachelor's thesis deals with physiotherapy with elements of dynamic neuromuscular stabilization in oncological patients after breast ablation. The aim of the practical part is to use objective measurements to evaluate the benefit of preoperative and early postoperative physiotherapy on the patient's overall recovery. The evaluation took place three times - as a part of preoperative treatment, after surgery and after the end of the physiotherapy intervention. For this, postural locomotion tests (diaphragm test, intra-abdominal pressure test, quadruped rock forward test and test of a 3-month-old supine position), measurements of inspiratory and expiratory chest circumferences, range of motion measurements on the upper extremities and cervical spine, and measurements of arm circumferences were used. It was found that physiotherapy had a positive effect on the overall recovery of the patients. In addition, the elements of the DNS have been shown to be a suitable adjunct to the analytic exercise and could be used along with other proven methods in post-mastectomy women-patients. Evaluation of the Effect of DNS FIT KID Program on pre-school children

Title: Evaluation of the effect of the DNS FIT KID exercise program on preschool children Objectives: Assessment of the effect of the DNS FIT KID exercise program on preschool children with the secondary goal of building an optimal spinal stabilization system and thus influencing faulty posture. Methods: For this theses, 18 children (boys and girls) from kindergarten aged 3 to 6 years were selected. Aspection (gaze standing assessment), motor skills testing using the MABC-2 kit and DNS FIT KID (DNS tests and assessment of basic motor skills) were used to collect measurement data. DNS FIT KID exercise program was implemented and applied in the group. Results: When comparing the input and output results of the group, using the DNS FIT KID exercise program, a significant number of probands experienced a complete disappearance or improvement of the observed deviations in most of the monitored parameters. This fact therefore indicates a positive effect of the use of the DNS FIT KID programme for preschool children.
