The motive of selfishness and the possibilities of its displaying in the film August: Osage County

The bachelor's thesis deals with the searching of a motive of selfishness in an American film August: Osage County and the tools of displaying this motive in a film work. This thesis is not a film analyse although it could seems like it is. The thesis focuses on one concrete motive which is a main motive in the film. In this kind of focus the thesis analyses every single character, their motivations and the psychological profile of chosen ones
In the first part, I introduce the chosen film, the author of the script and – shortly – the film plot as well. In the second part, I try to analyse the structure of the story based on the work by Linda Aronson, the part of food as a stage proprerty, character's sexual behaviour and their psychological disorders. In the third part, I compare the film adaptation to the original play, which was also written by Tracy Letts, the author of the film sript.

Integration of people with mental disorder

This Bachelor´s thesis is writen around the topic of mentally ill people and their integration into society. First part of the thesis should define classification of mental illness and different categories of mental illness and also different ways of treatement should be described so as proceses of resocialization of those who are affected back into the society. The purpose of the theoretic part is therefore a summarization of theoretical knowledge in the field of mental illness and treatement of mental illness. The second part of this thesis is practicaly focused and focuses on the research of opinions and information of the general public about mentaly ill people and the results are comprated with the statements of respondents with actual mental illness. The aim of the practical part is then sumarization of the reasearch to the topic and providing options for closer research. At the end there is an recapitulation of the informations colected while research and recomendations that can lead to the better awareness of the general public about people with mental illness.

Interaction between gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system: Mechanisms and pathology

This work summarizes relevant information about bacterial ecosystem of human intestine with an emphasis on microbiome-host communication. I describe physiological mechanisms influencing so as distant as the intestine and the brain. Neuropsychiatrical and neurodevelopmental disorders, especially autism, are used as a model. Human gut microbiome influences function and development of the brain in many ways. The intestinal barrier permeability increases and decreases by the consequences of microbes contact with epithelium. Many bacterial species produce neuroactive molecules, neurotransmiters, their precursors and fatty acids. These molecules enter the bloodstream depending on intestinal barrier tightness. Disruption of microecosystem and host communication may cause pathological inflammations and increase cytokine production. Cytokines are able to weaken the blood-brain barrier and enable penetration of potentially harmful substances into the brain. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to summarize and logically organise current information and point out important questions about the relations between the microbiome composition and mental health. Gamers fighting depression - Strategies of video game players against feelings of depression

This thesis examines the motivation of players of video games for their playing, and the strategy of these players for overcoming feelings of depression, using the methods of grounded theory. The first part deals with the approach of sociology and selected studies towards the issue of video games and mental disorders, to which I then relate the findings of my own research at the final chapter. In the second part of this work I present what methodology has been used and how. In the final part I lead a discussion about the findings and outcomes of my research.
