Hemerová, Lucie ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Matějka Řehořová, Lucie (referee)
Informal carers in Czech social law Abstract Majority of long-term care for elderly persons is provided by informal carers, i.e. by relatives of other close persons. Despite informal care has significant value either for economy and society, it is omitted by the legislator over a long period. Therefore, the objective of this diploma thesis is to map the legislation affecting the situation of informal carers, to analyse it and to propose changes resulting from confronting the legislation with the actual situation of informal carers. This thesis is structured into six chapters. The purpose of first chapter is to present basic background which briefly describes the most important social and demographic phenomena accelerating the need to address legal status of informal carers and in perspective of which the relevant legislation should be analysed. In particular, such phenomena are population ageing, gender equality, financing of social welfare systems and the situation of informal carers on labour market. In the second chapter, given the topic of this thesis, the social law is defined and areas of law affecting informal carers the most are described in more detail, i.e. social welfare law and labour law. Third, fourth and fifth chapters relevant legislation is described. Chapter three is devoted to...

Osúchová, Veronika ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Numerato, Dino (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on professional carers, who are trained experts employed in specialised institutions that take care about more than one person with dementia in one group. The professional carers are under pressure during this time and there is a certain tension between reaching the maximal possible high quality care and growing number of clients in institutions specialised in dementia and dementia discourse, in which framework especially negative connotations are highlighted. It is just an approach of the carers that plays an important role in this issue. The work with dementia discourse and dealing with the above mentioned issue from the side of carers has a considerable impact on functioning, health condition and quality of life of individuals with dementia. Their dealing with the issue can influence strongly and steer the running an institution and the quality of life of such an institution clients. A difficult situation of professional carers also influences the carers themselves, their concepts of this illness and concepts of their own ageing. This diploma thesis is aimed at an analysis how the pictures of dementia are constructed by professional carers who take care about clients with various forms of dementia in the long term. In the framework of this thesis, their subjective...

Jelínek, Jan ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tůmová, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor's thesis investigates working environment of employees of one particular retirement home. The jobs being looked at are as follows - social worker, activation worker and certified nursing assistant. These spots are divided into two groups, the more professional and creative one and the social one. I define the working environments through qualitative semi-structured interviews. To discover the environment in question, it is important to describe the content of the job and the tasks that one doing it is obliged to fulfil, the well-being of the ones doing it and the personal relationships in the workplace. I discover the characteristics of the jobs taking internal regulations, legal definition of the job and interviews into account. Using the workplace wellbeing theory, which consists of five basic dimensions, I describe the working conditions of the jobs in question. Those dimensions are used to examine the aspects that have major influence on the workers' wellbeing. Those are the ones that concern the employees' career ambitions, physical demands on them and the influence they have on their physical state, how the job is socially, how much the workers make for a living and how they fit in their communities. I will study personal ties between employees through the theory of positive...
Role Health Social Work in the Context of Long Term Care
KREJNÍKOVÁ, Šárka
Long-term care is currently a topical issue, not only in the context of an ageing population and care for people with disabilities, but also in the context of informal care. Formal long-term care includes health and social services, as well as community services and institutional care, including treatments used to stop or reverse the progression of illness or disability. Informal long-term care is provided by family members, friends or neighbours. A health social worker is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in the context of long-term care provision.
Needs of Informal Caregivers of People with Alzheimer's Disease in the ORP Písek
RÉDLOVÁ, Žaneta
The meaning of informal care grows with regard to the demographic changes in the society and the role of these caregivers is irreplaceable within the system of long-term care. The diploma thesis reflects the current situation in this area with the objective of mapping out the needs of informal caregivers of people with Alzheimer's Disease in the ORP Písek. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis is supported by a number of surveys that bring an interesting perspective to different areas of domestic care with regard to current trends in senior patient care. Attention is also focused on the characteristics of Alzheimer´s and on the mentioned municipalities with extended powers. To reach the objective, a qualitative research strategy was chosen, using semi-structured interviews with eight informal caretakers who were taking care of individuals suffering from Alzheimer´s in the chosen area. With regard to the given area, also the range of shared care and availability of formal services from the perspective of caregivers themselves, were the object of research. Data analysis was carried out using grounded theory mehtod and the result of axial coding is a paradigmatic model focused around central category - the needs of the informal caregivers. The research has proven that the needs of informal caregivres are changeable depending on the phase of Alzheimer´s disease. Meanwhile in the beginning needs of informative character arise, later they modify due to financial and time pressure. At the same time, research has proven a disproportionate offer of services in the ORP Písek and this fact is reflected in the quality of support network. Informal caregivers need to know that they are not alone in this and that there is an individual or a service that might substitute them in case they are absent.

The efficiency of the legal regulation of care for senior citizens
Filípková, Hana ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Vysokajová, Margerita (referee)
The effectiveness of legal regulation of care for the elderly - summary From the projected demographic development, one can conclude that the proportion of the elderly in the society will grow significantly in the future. Advancing age is generally accompanied by the weakening of self-reliance and the need of help from others to take care of oneself. The aim of this work is to capture the latest trends in taking care of the elderly and its legislative anchorage in the laws of the Czech Republic. The fundamental law from which I start is the act no. 108/2006 Sb. on social services. This act brought a large number of changes and new institutions into the department of care (not only for seniors), from which the most important was the introduction of care subsidy. The work is focused mainly theoretically, it is divided into seven chapters and further particular sub-chapters. The first chapter deals with embedding the social services into the social security law system, and also briefly with their historical development. These bases represent essential determinants that affect both the current state of social services, as well as their possible future development. The need for effective regulation of social services for seniors can be seen in the demographic indicators, which confirm the long-term trend towards...

This diploma thesis deals with the system of the informal long-term care for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. The first aim of the diploma thesis is to describe this non-conceptually solved issue and confirm the European prevalent tendencies to refamilization and deinstitutionalization in the Czech Republic. Author tries to identify the main problems within the system of informal long-term care through interviews conducted with informal carers and workers from selected social services. The diploma thesis emphasizes the target population of informal carers, who face many obstacles, whether it is the cooperation between the systems of formal and informal care, lack of finances, deterioration of quality of life or insufficient recognition of the status of informal carers from the society and the state.
