Changes of mood state during walking in blue spaces
Horký, Matouš ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Turčová, Ivana (referee)
Objective: The aim of the work was to analyze how different types of natural environments affect the physical and mental health of individuals. Methods: 7 students of UK FTVS participated in the research. The participants visited the natural environment (blue area) in Prague's Troja and the laboratory in the UK FTVS building. While visiting these environments, they underwent: a 10-minute Stroop test to induce cognitive stress and 40 minutes of walking at a chosen pace. Current mental states and emotions were monitored using the standardized POMS (Profile of Mood State) questionnaire, which was filled in a total of four times during the visit. Results: From the average results of the POMS questionnaire (on a scale of 0-4, 0= not at all, 4= very much), it was obtained that the degree of anger in the laboratory environment was 0.68 and in the blue environment 0.39. Fatigue level 1.17 in lab and 1.19 in water. Depression values in the laboratory 0.67 and in water 0.54. Confusion was 0.88 in the lab versus 0.55 in the blue environment. Voltage in the lab 1.02 and in the blue environment 0.60. Vitality in the aquatic environment 1.51 and in the laboratory 1.29. The average values of individual POMS dimensions over time were (blue space) after the initial measurement: anger 0.40, fatigue 0.95, depression...

TITLE: Knowledge and attitudes towards HIV / AIDS among adolescents in the selected region AUTHOR: Bc. Magdalena Sajdlová DEPARTMENT: Department of education and social education, department of health education SUPERVISOR: Peadr. Eva Marádová, Csc. ABSTRACT: The thesis is divided into the two parts. The first part describes basic information about HIV and AIDS - the essence of the disease, transmission of disease, method of spreading the principles of diagnosis, therapy options. I describe the basic principles of prevention for a wide strata of the population and the basic principles of teaching, education and prevention in the elementary school. The second part is called research investigation. It describes the basic structure of the work. The research part contains the way of teaching of HIV and AIDS in three selected elementary schools and one selected secondary school in eighth classes. Information was obtained using a questionnaire, where I find the knowledge and attitudes of pupil sin individual schools and an interview with a teacher who has taught this subject. The results of the schools compare with each other. Based on the results of the evaluation recommendations processing (content, form) for individual schools. Tolerogenic dendritic cells as a novel cell-based therapy in type 1 diabetes
Kroulíková, Zuzana ; Funda, David (advisor) ; Smrž, Daniel (referee)
Utilization of tolerogenic dendritic cells (tolDCs) as a cell-based therapy represents a promising strategy in treatment of autoimmune diseases including type 1 diabetes (T1D). Numerous protocols have been established to generate tolDCs ex vivo and their therapeutic effect has been demonstrated in animal models of autoimmune diseases. In this thesis we compared three different variants of such protocols which are based on the combined treatment of bone marrow- derived DCs with vitamin D and dexamethasone applied at different time points of their maturation towards tolDCs. We assessed the efficiency of these protocols in regards of their effect on the expression of co-stimulatory molecules CD40, CD80, CD86, and MHC II and the chemokine receptor CCR7 on the surface of tolDCs. Then, we evaluated the migration pattern of antigen unloaded tolDCs in vivo as well as their effect on the induction of immune responses and cell proliferation of lymph node cells. This was achieved by labelling of tolDCs with membrane dye PKH26 and by following their migration path by flow cytometry after intraperitoneal (i.p) or subcutaneous (s.c.) injection into either left or right side of the body. On day 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, the presence of PKH26+ tolDCs was examined in spleen, pancreatic, mesenteric, inguinal and axillary...

Economic effects of the health promotion at the example of mammographic screening examination introduced in Czech republic in 2002
Fabová, Lucia ; Bartůsková, Lucia (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The topic of health is currently very up-to-date and the need for population health promotion and disease prevention is becoming increasingly important. The consequences of neglecting prevention and health promotion on the state's economy are clear, whether it is about increasing public spendings on health care or indirect effects on the level of human capital. The aim of this work is to analyze health promotion in the Czech Republic with a focus on mammographic screening programme introduced in 2002. The study demonstrates a decrease in breast cancer mortality following the screening examination and an increase in the number of tumor findings in earlier stages of the disease. It also analyzes the effect on costs of health care and the impact of screening on them. It also proposes to extend preventive screening examinations to other areas where their implementation could be useful in the future.
