Analysis of the Natural Gas Market during the Period of Deregulation - A Comparison of Selected European Countries

The liberalization of gas markets is in the European Union and especially in its new Member States a current topic. This thesis is devoted to a comparison of the liberalization processes in three Central European countries - the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The thesis first introduces the concepts of public and natural monopolies, the specific characteristics of gas markets and the legislation of the European Union that underlies the liberalization. Further, the thesis takes a close look at the developments in the gas markets of the three countries. The focus lies mainly on the national legislation, opening of demand side and changes in the market structure, including unbundling, new entrants and supplier switching. The final chapter of the thesis analyzes and compares the progress in liberalization of the individual markets by calculating the market concentrations using the Herfindahl-Hirschman index.

This master´s thesis deals with the coefficents of difference for map of rent in Blansko. The main aim of this thesis is to describe the historical development of regulated rents from the interwar period to the present. It is the aim of this thesis to establish a system of coefficients that will lead to solving the problem of determining the market rent after deregulation. This problem was solved on the basis of statistical processing created database offers rentals in Blansko. The result is an equation transformed into a program in which the assessment of individual coefficients of difference is to calculate market rent.

Over the past 20 years, there were several low-cost airlines identified as the most successful airlines in Europe according to the number of transported passengers. Theoretical part of the thesis has several objectives. It is an analysis of the airlines success it selves as well as an analysis of their gradual development in low cost air travel within Europe and description of the low-cost aviation market in Europe in terms of the history and competitiveness. Possibilities and impacts of potential liberalization of the alcohol market in the Czech republic based on the data from 2009 to 2015

The target of this Bachelor thesis was to analyse the Alcohol Market in the Czech Republic and its regulation by excise taxation between 2009 and 2015. It aims on modeling potential situations of the market liberalization. Especially it examines changes in state budget and alcohol consumption as a result of fluctuation in both excise tax and value-added tax. It also deals with potential changes of medical services costs in relation to variable alcohol consumption. Some of the partial conclusions in this work are based on expierences from alcohol prohibition period in specific countries. The work includes introduction to Czech legislation, as well as it describes the excise taxes in terms of alcohol use. The Laffers curve has been applied on alcohol market and results into an conclusion, that involves reducing the excise taxes what will lead to stimulation of the relevant economic sector and may have effect on the services industry as well. The thesis is also recommending solutions on increased medical services costs in relation to higher alcohol consumption.

This thesis deals with the analysis of deregulation and privatisation processes in the sector of Japanese transport, specifically in rail and air transport.The aim of this work is to analyse the context, progress and consequences of specific privatisation and deregulation steps in Japan's rail and airline sectors. The first chapter discusses the theory of privatisation and how the historical context of the 1980s provided fertile ground for its application in developed countries. The second chapter deals with the origin, historical development and usage of Japanese rail and air transport, as well as with important companies operating in these sectors. The third and final chapter describes the course and consequences of privatisation and deregulation processes in Japan's rail and airline sectors.

Development of rental housing in the Czech Republic after 1989

The thesis deals with the development of rental housing since 1989. It is divided into several parts. In the introduction I explained generally the notion of housing with the description of its types, characteristics and related processes. In the second part I focused mainly on rental housing where I deal with the development in the period after the Velvet Revolution when it was restored a form of private property and deregulation of rental housing has begun. I pointed out the legislation which played an important part in the housing market and which regulate the relationship between the lessor and tenant. The third part deals with housing policy where there are highlighted its main objectives and priorities in the housing In the last part I made the evaluation of trends and possibilities of housing at the present time based on data from my statistic research of housing market.
