Problems of the city Most through the eyes of its young population

This Thesis deals with the social problems of city Most and how they are perceived and evaluated by its young population. Under influence of historical events the city has a very specific composition of the population and it has long been faced with many problems that are inherently social, economic, environmental and other. The Thesis presents the view of pupils and students of Most's schools on these problems and it ana- lyzes which problems students consider as urgency, how they evaluate the living con- ditions in Most and what is their relationship to the city. The Thesis is supported by own SAQ survey conducted on a sample of approximately 600 students from different types of schools that provides answers to most of the research questions. These questi- ons are concerned, except the social problems, also with the phenomenon of mass de- population of city Most that is not very discussed yet but that could deepen all other problems in the future. Thus the overall output is consisted of a description of the current situation of the city and its problems, perception of these problems by its young population and outline of vision of future development.

Horváth, M. Dutch disease in the economy of Saudi Arabia. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2018. The bachelor thesis focuses on the occurrence of Dutch disease in Saudi Arabia's economy. By using examples of other countries in which the Dutch disease has occurred in the past, basic terms are summarized and common principles discussed. The goal of the bachelor thesis is econometric testing of Dutch disease impacts in the economy of Saudi Arabia. For this purpose, the economy of Saudi Arabia was briefly described, including the development of significant economic indicators. The development of the economy and the results of the tests were evaluated with respect to the general economic theory and the theory of Dutch disease.

Petr Klusáček, Ph.D This bachelor thesis deals with the industrialized areas and their reuse in Milano, Italy. The theoretical part defines the term brownfield at European level as well as at the Italian level. Furthermore, the work deals with three generations of brownfields, financing, tools to revitalize industrial areas and classification of browfields. Last part is focused on brief characteristic of Milano and its attitude to brownfields. The practical part is aimed to present particular examples of deindustrialisationed areas. Three areas in Milan were selected (La Forgiatura, Parco del Portello and the district of Bicocca). The last part is focused on the short presentation of projects in the surrounding areas of Milan.
Masculinity Crisis - A Case Study of the People's Republic of China

The bachelor thesis "Masculinity Crisis - A Case Study of the People's Republic of China" deals with the masculinity crisis in the reform period of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The thesis aims to conclude whether the model of masculinity crisis, as drawn by the author of the thesis on the experience of the OECD countries, is also applicable to the male society in the reform PRC. The thesis focuses on masculinity crisis among men who are since the Mao Zedong presidency and throughout the reform period employed within the secondary sector of Chinese economy. Deindustrialisation and servitisation in OECD countries let to a significant increase of female employment which changed the traditional gender roles. Men's leading position in both family and society, as stemming from the position of family's primary breadwinner, was marginalized. Men experienced loss of both economic and psychological securities. These losses are believed to have resulted in a "crisis of masculinity". In China, however, the macroeconomic reforms often helped to restore the position of the primary breadwinner, lost due to the Mao's employment policies in 1950s. The Dutch disease theory and its application to countries with independent monetary policy and members of monetary union

This diploma thesis aims to give a comprehensive picture of a phenomenon called The Dutch Disease whose symptoms had been increasing in many countries during the second half of the 20th century, especially in connection with mining. The first part deals with the detailed description of traditional economic theory and its later upgrades. In the second part, the Dutch Disease theory is applied to the member countries of the European Monetary Union and highlights the problems of asymmetric shocks, which may include among others the discovery of mineral resources. The third part then attempts to look at the recent European balance of payments crisis through the eyes of the Dutch Disease theory and to highlight a number of common symptoms.
The Role of Culture in the Process of Regeneration of Post-industrial City

The main subject of thesis The Role of Culture in the Process of Regeneration of Post-industrial City is to introduce the theoretical concept of regeneration of former industrial cities through culture and evaluate the impact of culture on the regeneration of post-industrial city. The first part is aimed at general issues of culture in regional development and attractiveness of the city, there are mentioned basic concepts related to the issue and defined trends in the development and regeneration of post-industrial cities through culture. The second part is aimed at the process of transformation of the city of Ostrava and contains an analysis of the current situation in the city. The City of Ostrava has prepared a strategic document presenting the revival of city through culture as a factor of improving its external image, but also a source of regional identity and the cultivation of the community. Empirical verification of the contribution of current policies to the regeneration and development of Ostrava city through culture is conducted through a questionnaire survey. The results show that the citizens of the city noticed visible changes towards the improving the quality of life in a city, however, if the city intends to continue in its successful strategy of regeneration, emphasis should be placed on citizen participation, their feedback and utilization of previously completed cultural investments should be improved by connection of existing cultural infrastructure.
