The New Wave of Korean Cinema
STEER, Matěj
This bachelor's thesis deals with the history of Korean cinema against the background of socio-political changes. With the help of the historical context, it describes the external and internal influences that shaped its development. The text summarizes the period of the Japanese occupation, the Korean War and the turbulent period of the second half of the twenties in order to gain a deeper understanding of the impact these events had on Korean society, and the films that were created during these times. It then explores the turn of the millennium and the changes that resulted in the popularity that Korea experiences today. It also analyzes Korean Society's relationship with its own history and how this dynamic has changed over the decades through interpretations of the films presented. By combining these factors, it achieves a more comprehensive idea of the functioning of contemporary Korean cinema.

Hlaváčková, Terezie ; Doležalová, Eva (advisor) ; Urgošíková, Blažena (referee)
The angle under which Czech society sees Hussitism has undergone a rapid turn over the last few decades. The planned B.Sc. thesis aims to contribute to the identification of roots and prerequisites of this turnaround laid by previous development of Czech society and culture, especially after the World War II. It is obviously also necessary to analyse the preceding long- term development, from the beginnings of the national revival through Tyl and Palacký up to Jirásek and Nejedlý. The main subject of the work will then be an analysis of new elements in the view of hussitism contained in the film trilogy by Otakar Vávra (Jan Hus, Jan Žizka, Against All), and their reception by contemporaries and subsequent generations.

The Language of Filmic Dreams
Hasalík, Petr ; DAŇHEL, Jan (advisor) ; DOLENSKÝ, Martin (referee)
This thesis focuses on the language of filmic dreams, i.e., the means of expression used by filmmakers to create stylized dream scenes or sequences from the time of Georges Méliès to the present. Each chapter covers one decade and contains analyses of original dream scenes or sequences from two films from the respective period. There are also short synopses of all the analysed films that provide the context for the dream scenes or sequences and each dream scene or sequence is represented by two still frames from the film. At the end of each chapter, there is a list of films with dream scenes or sequences from the respective period, including the dominant means of expression used by the filmmakers, and also the films that do not use any stylization of dreams. The goal of this thesis is to provide a brief historical overview of films containing dream scenes or sequences with focus on the means of expression used by filmmakers throughout the history of cinema.
