Šňupárek, Václav ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Martínek, Milan (referee)
Comparison of penile blood flow changes in performance road cyclists obtained during a ride on a customized 3D printed and conventional saddle Author: Bc. Václav Šňupárek Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Aim: To update findings on penile blood flow in performance cyclists by measuring transcutaneous partial pressure of O2 (tcpO2) and CO2 (tcpCO2) on current style of racing bicycle saddles Subjects and methods: tcpO2 and tcpCO2 were measured non-invasively on the glans penis in healthy highly trained male cyclists (ළ = 30) with an average annual mileage of 14240 km on three different road cycling saddles - Posedla Joyseat, Specialized Power and Fizik Tundra M5. It has previously been shown that tcpO2 is highly correlated with arterial pO2. TcpO2 and tcpCO2 were measured continuously in each participant for ten minutes on each saddle with a random order of saddles while riding stationary bike trainer in a race fit position. Simultaneously, various data like saddle surface pressure via Velometrik Smart Cover BT, rider position via Retül Fit, power output, heart rate and cadence via Wahoo KICKR Bike were recorded, and glans penis biothesiometry data were collected with Bio Medical Instruments. Data analysis was done on statistical level of significance ළ < 0,05. Statistical methods used to...
Architectural study of a stadium for track cycling - TJ FAVORIT Brno
Macíková, Želmíra ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The main topic of the master’s thesis is an architectural study of the velodrome in Brno, the Czech Republic. Nowadays, the existing stadium includes probably the oldest cycling track which is still in use in the whole Europe. Design deals with updating the old velodrome to current Olympic parametres and standards. The goal is to create a suitable, functional, and aesthetic space for athletes and passers-by and also to draw attention to cycling club TJ Favorit Brno, which has over 100-years tradition in the city. The new design keeps the existing 400-metre-long cycling track with its unique roof done by prof. arch. Lederer. Roof is extended above the track and the tribune, which forms the “genius loci“ of the Brno velodrome. A 250-metre-long track meeting the Olympic standards will be placed inside the longer track. Inside of it, there is space for various collective ball sports pitches. In the large oval, there is a multifunctional area, e.g., for a built track for bicross. The runways are at different height levels and are connected to the surrounding buildings. The main idea of the project is to cover the oval without pillars inside, thus keeping its genius loci. The structure of the roof above the main space is made of steel cables joining 3D steel structure above both the existing and new buildings near the straight parts of the track. Near the rounded parts of the track, the ropes are anchored into reinforced concrete walls. The supporting structure for membrane roof covering is made of carbon, which has excellent technical properties; due to its low weight, it is also used for the production of bicycles. The current building of the gymnasium and the main building of the TJ Favorit Brno cycling club, where there is a track cycling facility, will be preserved. They will be followed by outbuildings with facilities for the public, cycling athletes, a café, service, rental and shop, administration and technology spaces. In front of the main entrance, there is a public space with greenery and a water feature welcoming passers-by. Designed buildings surround the current stadium on three sides. Buildings mostly have two storeys.
Interaktivní nástroj pro bike fitting využívající počítačové vidění
Kocman, Matej ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
Bike fitting is the adjustment of a cyclist’s pose on the bike often with the help of video analysis with the aim of increasing comfort, preventing injury and performance optimisation. The goal of this thesis was to create a prototype application for bike fitting, which would follow up on existing applications of its kind and would offer a working solution for chosen problems. The application offers functionality for increased keypoint detection accuracy, lowering the number of position iterations needed for optimal bike setup and optimal pose setup for a bike with limited setup options. The application was tested on users and contributed towards reaching an ideal position after a few iterations already. The application is a useful tool for bike fitting at home and the thesis propositions ways of improving it further.
Advanced visualisation tool for cycling traffic intensity in Brno
Šerejch, Radek ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Lazúr, Juraj (advisor)
Due to the continuously growing trend of cycling transportation, there arises a need to analyze cycling transportation. The data portal of the city of Brno provides data that can be utilized in various ways. However, the records in these datasets use different underlying maps. This problem is addressed by Radoslav Eliáš in his master’s thesis, where he creates a connected data model using algorithms. For visualizing this data, he uses the ArcGIS application, which, however, is not sufficiently flexible for easy creation of advanced visualizations. Therefore, in this thesis, an application is proposed and implemented to replace the existing method of visualization. For simple data preprocessing, the application is divided into a backend and frontend part. The backend part handles data preprocessing, which is subsequently provided through an API. The frontend part consists of a web application that handles all graph and visualization creation. The implemented solution brings broader possibilities for analyzing data and also facilitates responding to changes in the datasets.
Calculation of the cyclist's power output based on data from shoe pressure insoles
Teturová, Iveta ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Hrbotický, Lukáš (advisor)
Překlad abstraktu The Bachelor’s thesis deals with the question of utilizing pressure values measured by pressure inserts for calculating the performance of cyclists. Since this method has not been used in cycling before, the result of this work can be applied to expanding the methods of measuring performance in this sport in the future. The goal was to verify whether the use of this conversion is applicable in practice. This goal was verified by obtaining data during practical measurements, subsequent analysis of this data, and comparison of the results with other methods currently used for measuring performance in cycling.

The thesis includes an analysis of transport modes, especially road transport, parking, cycling, and pedestrian transport, proposing their optimization to enhance safety, smoothness, or comfort for the town's residents. The first part describes the current state of road, static, cycling, railway, and public transportation. The second part focuses on road transport, evaluated in terms of traffic safety and compliance with legislative requirements, along with proposed solutions. It further addresses static traffic, where the town was divided into functional zones based on usage, identifying shortcomings in selected areas and proposing solutions. The final section of the thesis tackles pedestrian and cycling traffic, outlining shortcomings and potential solutions.
Design of City E-Bike
Růčka, Jakub ; Surman, Martin (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
The traffic situation in cities is getting worse every day. The number of cars that its infrastructure cannot accommodate is constantly growing. The design of an urban electric bicycle was chosen as the topic for this thesis in order to analyse the problematic aspects of the product and the environment in which it is used and try to solve them. Therefore, the final design primarily respects the user and their needs. It meets the individual ergonomic and technical parameters. The refinement of the e-bike to the last detail improves comfort and safety during riding. Thanks to the appropriate integration of lighting elements directly into the individual parts of the e-bike, a sufficient amount of illumination has been achieved. The e-bike allows its user to use light signals while changing directions. A storage space has also been designed for the e-bike, which allows smaller items to be carried. This thesis brings a new perspective to the urban electric bicycle. It shows how its different parts can be approached and how to work with different practical accessories. It also outlines how an e-bike could be connected to a smartphone in order to make its use more pleasant for the user.
