Rural Landscape as an Aesthetic Object

The diploma thesis aims to define the rural landscape as a specific aesthetic object in comparison with a different type of landscape - the wilderness. The starting material is the theoretical perspective of one of the most important environmental aestheticians of today, Allen Carlson. The thesis first summarizes his process how we reach an appreciation of not only agricultural landscapes, and then it subsequently develops a history of the aesthetic appreciation of rural landscapes and wilderness. The thesis also expand the not very broad field of interest in the specifics of aesthetic appreciation of rural or agricultural landscapes in this country and thus contribute to functional landscape planning with regard to its aesthetic aspects.

Agricultural settlement - Mountain pastoral cooperatives in the district of Trutnov from 1945 to 1949

The history of mountain pastoral cooperatives 1945-1949 has not yet been sufficiently elaborated and reflected in the whole range of issues, not even at the national level, let alone at the level of each border political district or otherwise defined region. The presented text will focus on the genesis of mountain pasture cooperatives at the national level, in the political post-war context, including the fundamental theoretical background, and will describe in particular the implementation of six cooperatives in the Giant Mts (Krkonoše in Czech) and Giant Mts foothills, in particular the Trutnov political district. In the form of a probe, the implemented HPDs in the Prachatice district will be described for comparison. Comparison of the theoretical plans of the Ministry of Agriculture with concrete implementation in the complicated reality of the various ways of re-locating post-war sites in the Trutnov district brings a new perspective firstly on the evaluation of the success of the mountain pastoral cooperatives or on the limits and possibilities of their success. Collectivization of agriculture and its projection to the landscape. Case study of cadastral area Široký Důl

Diplomová práce Kolektivizace zemědělství a její promítnutí do krajiny ABSTRACT I searched changes in the cultural landscape structure in the relation with social processes in the time period 1937-2010 in my thesis. The research refers to the second half of 20th century, or more precisely, to the era of collectivization of Czechoslovak agriculture. In consequence of collectivization, the landscape was ecologically devastated and overall the nature of Czech countryside changed. Analysis of the landscape structure has form of case study of cadastral area of Široký Důl. I interpreted landscape changes from historical aerial photos and then analyzed the changes by geographical information systems. The results of those analyses are indicators (landscape metrics), by which I interpreted conditions of landscape in particular time. I confronted the changes in the landscape structure with social processes, which are described in theoretical part of thesis according to background research. Result of my thesis is general story of particular landscape, whose structure changed fundamentally in consequence of collectivization of agriculture. Our world exists behind the fence too. A Case Study of the Association for Embellishment in Jílové u Prahy

The graduation thesis is focused on the phenomenon of Embellishment and by using a case study particulary researches the Association for Embellishment in Jílové u Prahy. The subject of my study is related character of former and present Association. Using a semi-structured interview process, I have attempted to find out how important local cultural tradition is for civic members and how far it is only a formal pattern for resumption of association's activities after 1989. I also tried to determine how the present Association deals with a current environmental issues and how it is used in practice.

Environmental aspects in the context of the media coverage of the Czech Repuvlic's cultural herigage and its presentation

This thesis deals with the representation of the natural environment in branding the Czech Republic on the domestic and global market. The aim was to find out how the visual and textual content of CzechTourism information and promotional materials contributes to this and how the representation of nature characterizes the Czech Republic as a cultural tourism destination. The evaluation was based on qualitative analysis. Textual content was analysed using the grounded theory method, selected photographs were subjected to semiotic analysis. The result shows that the Czech Republic is presented through CzechTourism brochures as a country that is a harmonious combination of natural treasures and historical monuments. The Czech Republic seems to be a tourist destination, after a visit to which a change of personality occurs: not only does one's physical and emotional state improve, but also one reflects on a number of issues such as the perception of spiritual values, awareness of oneself as a Czech citizen (for local residents), gaining new knowledge about the history of the Czech state (for foreign tourists). Changes of landscape structure and scattered greenery in the Jistebnicko region

The landscape has been profoundly affected by human activity for centuries and the consequences of this interference have been growing in scale with the rising demands of modern society. The processes leading to the landscape's homogeneity, or, on the other hand, its fragmentation, have been focus of many studies which then allow us to understand how the landscape functions in its entirety and are also significant for the process of spatial planning on the local level. The aim of this theses is to assess the changes done to land cover an landscape's (micro)structure with special focus on scattered greenery (non-forest woody vegetation), as well as to examine how these changes have been mapped into the cadastral municipality of Cunkov, located in the Jistebnická vrchovina highlands, throughout the last 180 years. It is then possible to analyze these changes using the GIS and historical materials from three time periods which were beforehand selected - the years 1840, 1953 and 2019. Microstructure of the landscape plays an essential role in landscape's dynamics and for its ecologic stability.

Metodika péče o umělecky ztvárněnou kulturní krajinu

Cílem metodiky je vytvořeni souborného návodu využitelného při komplexní péči o umělecky ztvárněnou kulturní krajinu za využití aktuálně platné národní legislativy a mezinárodních dokumentů. Metodika je strukturovaná do sedmi kapitol, z nichž některé jsou dále členěny do podkapitol. Na vstupní údaje navazuje obecný úvod vymezující řešenou problematiku. Jádro dokumentu představuje kapitola „Doporučené postupy“. Jednotlivé kapitoly pojednávají o identifikaci kompozice umělecky ztvárněné kulturní krajiny včetně stanovení aktuálních hodnot těchto krajin. Proces péče o toto kulturní dědictví je zasazen do kontextu územního plánování. Zmíněn je fyzický proces obnovy a údržby umělecky ztvárněné kulturní krajiny ve vazbě na již vydané metodické materiály. Následuje důvodová zprava k metodice, závěr a závěrečné kapitoly věnované literárním zdrojům.

Elasticita sídelní struktury a rozvoj sídel do krajiny: podíl zastavěného území a zastavitelných ploch v krajině

The settlement structure undergoes a permanent change. Urbanization has been accompanied by gradual expansion of settlements into the landscape. In metropolitan areas, an increased demand for development areas creates pressure for identifying further plots to build at the expense of undeveloped landscape. The extent of existing urbanization around a metropolis is often not directly dependent on the natural conditions and morphology of the area, the distance and the relation to the metropolitan center being decisive. Settlements are forced to cope with change. An essential property of settlement structures is therefore adaptability. The elasticity of the settlement structure is therefore presented as a value that allows responding to changes. On the basis of theoretical conclusions, verified through case studies, the properties and characteristics of elastic settlement structures will be determined.
