The main purpose of the building is to create conditions for the revival of declining district near the center, which is achieved by the proposed functions of gallery, studios, cafe and housing. The design works with public space and private atriums in a combination with residential galleries. Special attention was paid to the facade of the house to fit between the richly decorated buildings of the 19th century.

Based on a series of analyses the construction programme has been created, merging the center of architecture accessible to both students and professionals and the gallery with accompanying spaces. The project is motivated by the current situation in the field of architecture. The task is to raise public awareness about the social role of architecture not only through exhibitions but also discussions and other events. At the same time to create a creative center for students where they will have a chance to meet and work with professionals. Apart from working environment workshops will be held at the same place, optionally also lectures, presentations, etc. The character of the buildings around creates enclosed city blocks. The new development at a busy intersection of the streets Milady Horákové and Koliště should as well enclose the very exposed corner of the current block. The proposed design is a reaction to where the building is placed and a typology it conceals.

Kučírková, Veronika ; Šebestík, Petr (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The topic of the diploma project is a design of a multipurpose building in a given city block structure which was prepared by KAM Brno in a local study plan "Southern Quarter - Trnitá - KAM Brno 2020" as a base material for future local zoning plan of Brno. The site is situated at corner of the block, in a proximity to a park along the river Svratka. The multipurpose building offers space for above-standard apartments as well as for office or commercial business. The massive cantilever created by the upper floors at the corner part is characteristic for the mass of the building and its opening the public space at the lower commercial floors.
TOWNHOUSE ON THE WATERFRONT IN PŘEROV
Tůmová, Helena ; Kozumplík, Vladimír (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
The project of a multifunctional house is situated near the historical centre of the city of Prerov, on a corner lot in the vicinity of the nearby waterfront. The house interacts with the city life; it also sensitively completes the current buildings and the functionalist Sokol house in its neighborhood. The building is separated into two objects. The objects are partly connected through a parterre which frames an open semiprivate atrium. Although the shape of the building does not strictly follow the borders of the lot, the house clearly remains the defining element of the corner. The house is determined mostly for living and also provides space for commercial usage.

The diploma thesis deals with the urban design of the completion of the block on Veveří and the architectural design of two apartment buildings on Veveří Street, the revitalization and modification of streets, the transport and parking in underground garages. It also deals with the public space on the newly created Závodní and Severní streets and life on Veveří within the commercial parterre and public spaces. The goal was to revitalize a dilapidated and unused block almost in the very centre of Brno, to create an adequate spatial design of buildings, which meet the social, economic and environmental requirements of the 21st century.
