Ethical reflection of social worker's work with carers of children with disabilities
NĚMCOVÁ, Nicol
The thesis entitled Ethical reflection of social worker's work with carers of children with disabilities looks into the mutual cooperation and interaction of both persons when working to help a child with disabilities in social services. A carer is usually a parent or other legal guardian who cares for and looks after a person with a disability or disadvantage. From my experience as a social worker, working with caring persons is sometimes challenging and I would therefore like to map the attitudes of both persons through interviews in which I will identify their needs either for themselves, towards the organisation or towards the person they are working with. I would like to find out specific things, how to help the carers more, how to understand them and how to set up together the best possible functioning of the child in the social service.
The immobile ill person at home
LANGOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this thesis was to find out the most frequent problems of the immobile patients and the people who care about them at home. This thesis is divided in two parts. The first part is theoretical and the second part empirical, which is based on the scientific reasearch itself. The theoretical part contains the definition and the contents of the expression immobility and the immobility syndrome. Then we follow with the most frequent demonstrations of the immobility syndrome. In the next topic there are needs of the immobile patients and the family that cares about them, then we mentioned the help for the members of the family and the home care agencies. The part that is very important is the area of the surroundings of the immobile patients that need more attention. In the last section we mention the allowances for disabled people and the areas where the patients can find help. The empirical part of this thesis was based on the quality approach and with the assistance of the semi-structural dialogue. The dialogues were carried out with the immobile patients at their homes and the people who take care of them as well. The information we got were afterwards analysed and put in the tables. The results of the research showed the most frequent problems of the patients and the people who take care of them at home and that is non-sufficient awareness of the care at home and the help of the home care agencies, social services and some other kinds aids. Concerning the patients it was mainly the problem of hygiene, food, emptying, building amendments at home. It is very important to mention that all the problems mentioned by both sides patients and their helpers wouldn´t appear if they were sufficiently informed before leaving hospital and going home.

Adult children support their parents, interaction is frequent and this situation often leads to relocation. The basic question of this study is how these circumstances affects a relations between family members and especially intergenerational relationships between adult children and their parents. The paper is mainly based on the concept of ambivalence and the model of intergenerational solidarity. The research conducted in Czech Republic is a further important background. Data from the research titled "Family Cohesion in the Elderly Care" are analyzed. The limits of care for seniors with dementia in a regular program facility
MYŠÁKOVÁ, Helena
This diploma thesis focuses on the care for persons with AD and the limits of care for these persons in a regular program facility. For several years already, the life expectancy has been increasing. However, this relates to the fact of increasing number of people suffering from diseases connected especially with the end of one's life, AD being no exception. This diploma thesis consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The aim of the theoretical part was to study and then analyse professional literature related to the topic. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided in three chapters. The main aim of the thesis was to find out, whether regular program facilities are capable of taking care of a client with dementia. Partial aims were to discover in which areas the employees of the regular program facility feel the strain while taking care of a person with dementia and how this client is perceived by other clients. While collecting data for the empirical part of the thesis, qualitative survey, inquiry and semi-structured interview were used as the methods of choice. The prepared questions were divided in five groups, making a total of 32. Through the survey I've found the regular program facilities able to take care of clients with AD. Since living together of clients with and without AD is possible, although problematic, it burdens the caring personnel, who see the most common problem in the regular program facility in a lack of time for clients, for taking care of them and communicating with them, and also in a small number of staff compared to the number of clients. According to my survey, the employees of a regular program facility mostly perceive situations connected with changing behaviour of clients with AD as stressful. This includes wandering of clients, their aggressiveness, the need of a different daily regime of a client with AD (sleep, diet) and complains on the behaviour of clients with AD from those without the disease. The employees are also under stress from the communication with clients with AD. I've also learned that clients without AD, according to the caring staff, perceive the clients with AD as problematic, they know that those receive more attention from the personnel and some clients with AD disturb other clients. However, living together of both groups is possible. I suppose that the number of patients with AD plays a part here, while it's not high in a regular program facility, and therefore clients with AD don't disrupt business as usual in the facility. From the empirical part of the thesis, following hypothesis can be made: The regular program facilities will take care of the clients with AD better, when the number of caring staff increases. The suggested hypothesis needs to be verified through a higher number of respondents. I assume that this thesis can serve as a source of information to both lay public and experts in the field of care for persons suffering from AD.

The questionnaire focused on, whether respondents use the offers of social services from the state. Also, what services they would need and if the offer of social services in their area is sufficient. And what else would improve the state's approach to those, who care for seniors at home.
