The purpose of this diploma thesis is a strategic development proposal for a Czech electrotechnical company with an emphasis on a product portfolio. The theoretical basis of this thesis serves as a structure for the analytical and the proposal part. Outputs of the external and internal analysis are the bedrock for formulation of strategic product portfolio development framework at the corporate and business level. The proposal provides a company with a framework for strategic behavior focused on better competitive ability, product portfolio expansion, and delivering higher value for customers of energetic engineering.

Suggestions are focused on building a successful business and doing business to bring it a competitive advantage. On the basis of the analyzes conducted, they have computed competing enterprises, customers or internal business factors and will propose an appropriate company development strategy that will ensure its profitable prosperity. My goal is to create a unique, competitive and profitable business that meets all the requirements of its customers.

The issues of products and services, marketing and mainly strategic management with emphasis on optimal strategy choice of a company are described in theoretical part. There are introduced fundamental methods of internal and external strategic analysis. With use of mentioned facts a program for support of strategic management is proposed. This program is aiming to make well structured and quantifiable methods of strategic analysis easier and more clear, based on which it is possible to define and choose an optimal strategy of a company.

Diploma thesis named „Adaptation of a corporate strategy and transformation of commercial activities” is focused on a manufacturing company – printing house. The thesis discusses theoretically as well as practically corporate strategies with an accent on formulation of a business strategy. The theoretical part focuses on a general description of procedures and methods used to create a corporate strategy. The practical part focuses on a company called PRINTING HOUSE (in order to protect business data of the company, it is not specified further and is called the PRINTING HOUSE in the practical part of the thesis), where business and strategic analyses were performed. The outcome of assessments and analyses outline potential investment projects, transformations and also presents a feasibility of acquisition of new business opportunities.
