This work deals with the transformation of the news programme of the Czech Radio in the specified span (2000 - 2010). The ČRo 1 - Radiožurnál and the Rádio Česko are emphasized the most as the main news channels. The work processes the changes both historically and formally/structurally. In the analyses of the channel Radiožurnál the work concetrates on the main broadcasting blocs and news-blocs, it studies detailed changes of the news broadcast - the structure, used genres and the language. It observes the changes in the historical context, too. The work touches general tendecies in the news of the Czech Radio, but ranges over particular changes of the news programme of the Radiožurnál and the Rádio Česko.
APPLICATION OF NONLINEAR EDITING METHODS IN TELEVISION NEWSCAST
Bančanský, Andrej ; Lokšík, Martin (advisor) ; Šmíd, Milan (referee)
This work studies the influence that non-linear editing of visual materials and usage of digital news production system have on the final form of news programmes. I also compare these advanced technologies with the older linear editing and analog playout, illustrate it by describing the principles of both methods and explain it on a hypothetical example. Two chapters are devoted to the integration of digital archives and graphics tools. The examined period used for comparison of new and old technologies is the week from 2 to 8 April in 2010 and the same week a decade earlier. The news programme examined is Udalosti on Czech television. The aim is to point out how the technical possibilities can change the workflow and form of newscast, not just in theory but also practically.
Use of dialogic forms in broadcasting publicism for listenership of young age groups
Trachtová, Zdeňka ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Maršík, Josef (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Use of dialogic forms in broadcasting publicism for listenership of young age groups" deals with dialogical types of programmes on broadcasting stations for young auditors. The most important chapteres of theoretical part introduce the outline of the Radio 1 and Český rozhlas1 Radio Wave developement from the beginning to nowadays, sociological characterization of young listenership, theory of journalistic genres, and methods for analysis. The aim of practical part is to analyse language, genres and contents used in programme of Radio Wave and Radio 1 while analysing a week broadcasting and trying to list their characteristics. The work is primarily concerned with interviews broadcast on these broadcasting stations. The text offers the most complete picture of the form of dialogical programmes for young listenership. Another aim is to analyse how is language being used in the public service radio (Radio Wave) and in the private commercial station broadcasting (Radio 1). Finally, on account of compile finding and data, it deduces parallel and different aspects of broadcast on these two stations. As a result, the bachelor thesis is a contribution to a study of radio broadcast for auditors of young age groups. 1 Czech radio.
Canadian media: history/genesis and present/contemporaneity
Vránová, Vendula ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee)
The thesis is focused on key canadian media - print, radio and television, in the individulal chapters I'm trying to describe their development as it is during the formative years and influenced, and what role it plays in today's Canada and which one of them has a privileged position in the country. Before that I was trying to deal with the history of Canada to clarify the roots all Canadian journalism and the media occurred. I also give attention to some selected major Canadian media personalities, whether those from the past and the present, who are in some way involved on what is today Canadian journalism, or the form of it's today. My attention did not miss either: the French-Canadian journalism, which about their form and the place on the map of the Canadian media fought for centuries. Its center is the Canadian province of Quebec. In my work, I also discuss how journalism is taught at several Canadian universities, how much of them offers a learning program and how they teach it. Whether the emphasis is more on theory or more practical. I write also about media education, which has been several years in Canada's history. Last but not least, I tried to map the Czech track in the Canadian media and specifically designate some of expatriate media that readers can find in Canada.

Use of TCP/IP Protocols for Algorithm Control in Real-Time Digital Audio Signal Processing
Pilch, Martin ; Plchot, Oldřich (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of protocol for control of digital audio signal processing over TCP/IP networks. The application of this protocol in embedded audio processing units allows to remote control of real-time processing of digital audio signals. The library, this thesis disserts on, allows for superior and faultless transfer of data and accordingly reliable control of audio signal processing at long distances via the local network or Internet. This library is designed to transfer any type of data and can be applied in any sphere.
Broadcast and multicast services in mobile networks
Konštanský, David ; Růčka, Lukáš (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor studies describe differents principles and possibilities of groupsending of multimedia data in contemporary mobile network with the intention of a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service in UMTS networks. This work analyse the architecture of solutions, processes of data transmission and types of coding of multimedia content of this service in UMTS networks. This paper also consider actual situation of application of Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service in 3G networks and offer a comparison of technologies of the standard DBV-H.
Visualization of relations between computers in the Internet
Cimbálek, Přemysl ; Malý, Jan (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) transmits the television signal over the TCP/IP family of protocols. Its advantages are for example that the transmitting is not only one-way as in the “classical” TV broadcasting, but it can provide feedback such as interactivity. There are also some problems which avoids development, for example low channel capacity of access networks. That is why new methods , for example how to get more efficiency in IPTV transmission, are proposed. The main task of this diploma thesis is to visualize tree structure of relations between nodes in the network, based on understanding of principles of the hierarchical summarization and IPTV transmitting. The nodes in the tree structure provide computing and summarizing of the data in back-way channel. There is the data from the end users in this channel. In the first part of this diploma thesis there is explained the principle of IPTV and its differences as compared with classical TV broadcasting. The part is also aimed for the supported services, advantages and disadvantages. There is explained the compressing data with the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards and problems with transport networks called “last mile problem.” To transmitting data IPTV uses Source Specific Multicast – every user connects to the multicast session with requested TV program. Feedback is provided by unicast. Feedback network uses the hierarchical summarization principle to reduce the data. This problem, connected with RTP, RTCP and TTP protocols, is in the work described as well. There is an international experimental network called PlanetLab mentioned in theoretical part of this work. Proposed structure of new protocol and applications including the visualization for IPTV broadcast, is tested in that network. In the practical part of this work there are discussed possibilities and methods for the visualization and data storage. Because of high availability and flexibility, there were chosen web technologies, such as MySQL for data storage. The tree model is executed by Java. The visualization is solved by web technologies, source code for visualization is dynamically generated by scripts in JSP (Java Server Pages). Graphical output is provided by the vector format SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) which is created for graphical expression on the internet and in the mobile phones. There were created interactive web application thanks its ability to cooperation with Javascript technology. This application visualizes relation-tree structure of nodes. In this work there are explained basics of all used technologies, there are also given reasons for chosen methods and formats. Examples and interesting parts of solution are mentioned as well.
Public service broadcasting in the European Union, organization and functioning: Study 5.309
Šmíd, Milan
Způsob organizace rozhlasového a televizního vysílání má v různých zemích různou podobu, podmíněnou politickými, ekonomickými, technologickými a kulturními specifikami daného státu.
