The Issue of the Competence of Drivers of Motor Vehicles to Drive on the Roads of the Czech Republic
Chodurová, Zuzana ; Kudláček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vémola, Aleš (advisor)
The theme of this master’s thesis is The Issue of the Competence of Drivers of Motor Vehicles to Drive on the Roads of the Czech Republic. It includes an analysis of the current state legislative requirements for obtaining professional qualifications of drivers in the Czech Republic and in neighboring states and comparison of selected specifics of the issue. An analysis was made of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic and comparison of basic indicators of accidents with neighboring states. Based on the analysis of the current state, then the practical part includes a questionnaire survey and suggestion of measures for improving road safety.

The master‘s thesis deals with accidents in road transport in the Czech Republic, Norway and Finland. It includes analysis and comparison of accident rates in those states, an overview of accidents in recent years, legislative requirements and trends in this area and then based on analysis of current proposals includes measures to increase safety in road transport.
Design of interchange R46 and II/428 near Vyškov
Běloušek, Ondřej ; Matula, Jiří (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis solves design of intrchange R 46 and II/428 near Vyškov, more exactly specified in the village Drysice. In the existing situation is not resolved connecting lanes and turning lanes at the interchange. This causes reduced road safety, which leads to a significant number of traffic accidents in this section. The thesis solves design respectively modification substandard connecting and turning lanes on all parts of flyover crossroads with associated modifications of two bridges. Integral part of the proposed modification is the elimination of existing noise load in the village, by using of noise barriers.
Influence of the Elements Surrounding the Road on the Traffic Safety
Bláhová, Eva ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
The thesis deals with the influence of the elements in surrounding the road on the traffic safety, focusing on visual distraction of the driver. Within the theoretical part are characterized transport system and its individual components (driver, environment and road, means of transportation and transport infrastructure) with emphasis on aspects affecting traffic safety and visual perception of the driver. The analytical part draws from video records with driving tests provided by the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology. They were processed and the data were evaluated to determine mainly the length of individual driver’s gazes on particular elements in surrounding the road and their comparison with the time dedicated to driving. The conclusion of this part is intended for the studies of advertising signs as they are the elements with significant influence on driver’s distraction. Interpretation of the results followed by designing their applications to increase traffic safety is included in the last chapter.
The Point System as a Road Safety Tool
Habásko, Jakub ; Ptáček, Petr (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
HABÁSKO Jakub: The Point System as a Road Safety Tool. The Master´s thesis of Master degree, second grade, school year 2010/2011, Brno University of Technology, Institute of Forensic Engineering, May 2011, pages 198, pictures 12, tables 6, supplements 21. The thesis is elaborated in frame of the Master degree, study branch Expert Engineering in Transport. In this diploma thesis is in detail introduced Penalty Point System in our country and in other selected european countries. The thesis further contains the part about comparing Road Safety in our country and in other selected countries from the point of view of statistics. Most frequented offences and criminal offences in our country were analyzed. In the final part of this thesis is the suggestion of changes in point system. In the last chapter is introduced actual amendment of the Road Safety Act.
Analysis of driver’s conduct during solving of situations associated with pedestrians crossing the road
Maxera, Pavel ; Kolíbal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rábek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Kledus, Robert (advisor)
The doctoral thesis analyses driver’s conduct while solving situations associated with crossing of pedestrians across the road in cases of various design of pedestrian crossings and at different conditions. The thesis deepens the knowledge of the human factor impact on the occurrence of a traffic accident involved vehicle and pedestrian and thesis also complements knowledge for the needs of the analysis of traffic accidents, especially in solving the pre collision phase and at assessment of possibilities for collision prevention by involved participants. The thesis deals with driver’s conduct, various models of the conduct as well as the thesis focuses on the visual perception, the process of information processing, the driver’s conduct and the reaction time. In terms of the solution suitable types of experiments were designed and implemented. Based on performed measurements a method of processing and evaluating data on drivers’ conduct was found as well as more significant data set was obtained for a detailed analysis of drivers' conduct in different driving situations. The assessed quantities of drivers' conduct were analysed with respect to the dangerousness of driving situations. For these purposes, the categories of the dangerousness of driving situations were defined (situations completely safe, with increased danger, dangerous and critical), into which the analysed driving situations were subsequently included. To enable the quantification of this classification of situations into the categories of the dangerousness, the coefficient of the dangerousness (so called K) was defined. From the detailed analysis of the obtained data, the limit values of this coefficient were determined, and these were subsequently verified using data from the solution of real traffic accidents. Concurrently the analysis verified the suitability of using this hazard coefficient in the analysis of traffic accidents, especially for a detailed assessment of the possibilities of collision prevention.
The Drug problems and road safety in the České Budějovice region
KOVÁČ, Daniel
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of driving under the influence of drugs in the South of Bohemia.
