Planning of school capacity in the Central Bohemia Region

Planning of school capacity in the Central Bohemia Region Abstract The objective of this thesis is to show the connection among demographic trends and the development of the educational system in the Central Bohemia Region from a quantitative point of view. This thesis focuses on repletion of school facilities, availability of education at pre-primary and basic levels and the possibility to estimate the basic parameters of the education system in future years. The first part addresses issues of methodology and the education system in general and theoretical level. It focused on the literature and data sources on the subject, describing the educational system in the Czech Republic and the development of educational legislation, explaining the methodology used in the second part of the thesis. The second part deals with specific application to data from the Central Bohemia Region. This section shows the numbers of children in nursery schools, pupils in basic schools and repletion of school facilities found in the districts of the Central Bohemia Region. The spatial distribution of school facilities is shown by proportional symbol technique. Furthermore, differences were found within the districts of Central Bohemia Region in relation to early childhood education by statistic methods. In conclusion the numbers...

TITLE: Private and alternative schools in the Czech Republic SUMMARY: The thesis describes current status of private and alternative schools whereas private schools are considered as an alternative to the public school system as well. It tackles the specific aspects of alternative pedagogical programs, describes common and distinctive features and sees into the positives and negatives of the choice of alternative education for parents and pupils. The theoretical part focuses on private schools. It inquires into the qualitative difference between private and public schools and deals with the conditions of education for both pupils and teachers. Cyberbullying at basic schools

This thesis focuses on the theme of cyberbullying at selected basic schools in the Czech Republic. The conceptual basis rests upon Lawrence Kohlberg theory of moral development and theory of social pathology. Through the desk research of the relevant Czech and international research, and through experts interviewing, the aims of the thesis are mainly exploratory, i.e. to explore the nowadays situation in (incl. effects and prevention/fighting of) cyberbullying at sample basic schools in the Czech Republic.
Mathematics textbooks for secondary schools from the point of view of beginning teachers

The aim of this thesis is to identify differences among Mathematics textbooks and to find out how they work in real education process. This research will provide information whether such textbooks are actually used by Maths teachers, and if so, then in what manner and how effectively. This will be viewed from the perspective of a teacher-beginner who searches for the most appropriate textbook for Mathematics lessons. Another goal is to introduce the offer of various Maths textbooks for the 2nd stage of basic schools. Also, there is a research performed that could compare these books, especially books published by Prometheus, Fraus and H-mat. Results of the research will be then used for lesson plans of a beginning teacher.

Education of pupils with special educational needs in elementary school in Prague 2

This thesis is devoted to the problems of children with special educational needs, with a focus on elementary schools in Prague 2. The first part of the thesis describes the aims, particularly the identification of positive experiences and negative examples from practice, and research questions. Next part is devoted to methodology, in which the author deals with the description of data collection and the production of materials for semi-structured interviews. The author describes the theoretical and conceptual background of selected issues and presents the basic terminology and historical context of education of children with special educational needs in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on the empirical research that has been devoted specifically to autistic children. The first part contains a basic summary of integrated children in primary schools in Prague 2. This part is followed by findings from the interviews, which are logically divided into three main sections. In conclusion there is a synthesis of the most important information and their relation to the selected concepts. Outdoor Sport Courses for the 2nd Grade of Basic Schools in Liberec Region

This thesis describes Outdoor Sports Courses for the 2nd Grade of Basic Schools in Liberec Region. The theoretical part discusses the close topics such as activities and education at elementary schools or summer and winter outdoor sports courses. The goal of the thesis is to obtain information about outdoor sports courses for the 2nd Grade of chosen basic schools in Liberec Region, and to recommend instructions for the optimal course education. Two methods of interrogation were applied: a controlled interview with school principals and questionnaire for students in 9th grade of elementary schools. Based on the above-mentioned interrogation methods, the diversity of sports courses in nature was investigated. In addition, the issue of the course capacity or material issues and staffing at schools were investigated. The research also concentrates on the participation of students in the courses and the reasons of their non-participation as well as students' satisfaction with the selection of available courses. Based on the students' responses, the ranking of the most popular courses was created. MONITORING OF SOCIALLY TOLERATED ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCES USING BY CHILDREN AT BASIC SCHOOLS

The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to map the problems of using socially tolerated addictive substances (alcohol, tobacco, medicines misuse, caffeine, anabolic substances) by children at basic schools and to find out differences or similarities between children living in the countryside and children living in the town, in term of their preference and attitude to the addictive substances. This thesis also verifies two specified hypotheses. To collect data was used the questionnaire given pupils of the ninth grades in the basic schools. Nowadays the risk of using addictive substances is still increasing. This bachelor thesis can be used as an information source of the actual state of using addictive substances and can be also helpful for providing effective prevention.
