Diploma thesis entitled "Analysis of Gait data utilizing the Rehawalk treadmill in post- stroke patients," is focused on investigating the gait parameters of individuals who have suffered a stroke and subsequently undergone analysis on the Zebris Rehawalk treadmill. This study specifically examines temporal and spatial parameters, including step length, anteroposterior Center of Pressure (COP) position, and lateral COP symmetry. The theoretical section of the thesis provides an in-depth discussion on stroke causes, clinical effects, and rehabilitation interventions. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the Zebris Rehawalk treadmill, employed for both analytical and therapeutic purposes, along with a delineation of its specifications. The central objective of this research was to determine how the aforementioned gait parameters evolve over time among post-stroke patients. The resulting values indicate the effectiveness of post-stroke gait therapy, which is an important component of independence and autonomy. The study includes participants who have experienced a stroke, the experimental cohort (n=24; females=5, males=19), as well as a control group, healthy individuals (n=47; females=32, males=15). The control cohort was utilized solely for the purpose of result comparison concerning...

OF BACHELOR THESIS Name, surname: Jana Nováková Supervisor: Ing. Adéla Slámová Consultant: Mgr. Jakub Kozel Title: Walking training within Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation concept in stroke patients Subtitle: Influencing of the Mid-Stance phase of stride Abstract: The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the training of walking in patients after a stroke. This acquired non-traumatic brain damage represents the second most common non-traumatic cause of death in today's modern civilization, in the Czech Republic the incidence of this disease is around 300 cases/100,000 inhabitants. The consequences of a stroke are usually numerous, and one of the resulting disorders can be hemiparetic walking with spasticity. The theoretical part includes four main chapters. The first section is devoted to the description of a commonly occurring non-traumatic brain injury, namely the description of a stroke. The second chapter describes stereotype, kinesiology and gait analysis. The third chapter includes a description of the philosophy of Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), basic concepts and principles of the concept, PNF therapy of hemiparetic gait and summarizes the issue of spasticity in PNF therapy. In the last section, walking tests for patients after a stroke, their use and application in...

The effect of minimalistic shoes on foot kinesiology
Vondrášková, Anna ; Tolar, Jan (advisor) ; Demeková, Júlia (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the possible influence of barefoot (or minimalist) shoes on the kinesiological parameters of gait and possible changes in the stability of gait and standing. The theoretical section briefly describes the anatomy of the human foot, foot arches, foot movements and the gait kinesiology. The next chapter deals with the issue of walking in barefoot shoes and explaining the basic parameters of barefoot shoes. The theoretical section concludes with a summary of the results of studies already conducted on this issue. In the practical part, we did our own research on selected gait and standing parameters, which can be affected by changing the shoe type. Participants switched to a period of approximately six months from wearing conventional shoes to barefoot shoes, and the measurements were taken twice, before and after adaptation to barefoot shoes. To objectify the results, the same measurements were taken in a control group that did not change shoes. Five parameters were selected to evaluate changes of gait and three parameters related to standing stability. Keywords Barefoot, minimalistic shoes, gait, gait analysis, stance analysis, stability
